I love that episode for so many great lines, especially Floyd's
at the end about the hamburgers burning! ha

going there. Its her first year and she loves it there.
Thanks for everyones continued prayers for my wife. things are
still holding pretty steady these days.
BOO-good to see your post. I am assuming that all is ok with
Erin as you did not bring up anything. It sounds like work is really
keeping you hopping tho.
Hey to Charlotte. We could use some of that rain. Send us any

May 02, 2024 - Msg 119908: My favorite part of Convicts at Large is when Barney is dancing, and Floyd is discretely, happily waving a banana as he enjoys the music. Just a tiny thing, but it makes the whole episode so much better. I strongly suspect Howard McNear ad libbed it.

May 04, 2024 - Msg 119911: Just Reflecting...My 8yr. Granddaughter is in Dallas staying with a friend of my Daughter for a week. Can’t help but think Romeena woulda taken her to Babe’s for some of the Great chicken she always talked about... But I know the Dallas chapter 😇 of the Porch is watching over her...Amen?

I SO miss her ( & Asa’s ) wisdom and stories...

MBM...Was That quote in your best Wally voice?

Ray the Window Washer...I hear ya about doing high quality work...My Dad had a Union 76 station that was mostly glass windows, so I DO understand the importance of doing a good job!..Dad was a stickler about clean streak proof windows. We did them EVERY Sunday which was deep cleaning day back in the day....*Not to mention floors & restrooms too!
I know you have your secret 🤫 recipe for the perfect cleaning solution...haha

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Big Maude! :)
And just for her. ME-TV aired 'Return to Mayberry' this afternoon,
followed by the "pilot" for TAGS, which was a Danny Thomas Show episode.

Today was the first time that I saw that pilot all the way thru, and i never
knew that Aunt Bee was in it as a Mrs. Perkins, and that Ben Weaver was in it
as a cigar totin' Mr. Johnson. Even Rance Howard was in it with a small part.
Very interesting indeed. The courthouse was also quite different.
All goes pretty well on this end. It has been very windy the past few days,
and that brought some cooler temps after our stretch of recent 90s!
Yes, GF, I also miss them. RO kept us in stitches with sightings of critter
antics as well as Trinket doings.
And Billy Ray, yes, Floyd was so funny thru-out that whole episode.
My Mayberry Memories book mentions that that was the last ep he was in
before his stroke. Unfortunately, he was never quite the same after that.
Well, I hope y'all had a good quiet Sabbath day. I did some ironing today!
Havent done that for a while, but Cecile is learnin' me real good.
She is still holding pretty steady, so please keep up the prayers. Thanks.
Pax et Bonum,
MDC

May 06, 2024 - Msg 119915: Good Monday morning folks!

Prayers for MDC and his sweet wife as well as everyone else
Lunch menu will be: grilled chicken sandwiches, chips and brownies. tea, lemonade to drink.
Prayers and blessings all around
Big Maude

Its 64 degrees this morning and supposed to rain off and on today on my end of the porch

May 07, 2024 - Msg 119916: Happy belated birthday, Big Maude! Thanks for the grilled chicken and lunch! We watched The Darlings Come to Town the other night. I love how worked up John Masters gets about them having so many people in the room: “Andy, I think I’m breaking out in hives!” Briscoe regarding the horse trough: “If’n a horse comes along, I’ll give him the right of way.” Ya’ll have a good night and “More power to ya!”

May 07, 2024 - Msg 119917: Good late night, Porch

Well, kinda lonely sitting here on my end of the porch. Just got thru with a tornado warning and sirens goin' off here a little while ago. Now the remaining tstorms are overhead. The wife, mother in law (who's visiting) and pets are now fast asleep.

Yeah, Charlotte, there was just so many of them Darlings that it got me all upset. ;)

Happy belated B-Day, Maude!

I say Hey to MDC, Ray, Billy Ray, Boo, possum, G-F and everyone else that was for and against Ellie runnin' for office.

This version of The Taylor's Front Porch has been created to pay our respect to the original porch found on Mayberry.org. Thanks to Frank for all the work he did for Mayberry on the web. We've tried to make this just like Frank's Porch. This is also a tribute to Ollie's "Trivialities" site which was another homage to Frank's porch but is no longer with us.
