In so many scenes, one of Andy's pantlegs was wrinkled above his boot.  I've always wondered what was going on here. Was the costume person sleeping on the job? Did the writers intentionally give this appearance to his character as a sort of signature? Was it the style?? Why didn't Andy (the actor) just check his appearance before going back on the set?

Don't think me picky about the irrelevant details, but how many of you have talked about this "oddity." Very many, I would think!!

We have spoke of this before and it is even mentioned in one of the TAGS books. Someone on the set tried to straighten his pants out, but he wanted it to stay natural. He said that it added realism to the show.

Kinda like not putting on clean unerwear? ;D

Why does Andy always seem to have the cuff of his pants caught in his boot?

Andy's getting his pants cuff caught in his boot is something that just naturally happened. Andy and the rest of the crew noticed it and, instead of changing it, realized that it was natural and real and just let it go whenever it occurred. It's amazing how many people have noticed that little touch of realism and have said things like, "I remember my Daddy's pants legs doing that very same thing on his boots when I was growing up." TAGSRWC probably averages a half a dozen letters per year about Andy's pants cuffs!

Yup,

I had an uncle who wore the same type of Welllington boots that Andy always seemed to wear.  The boot tops are somewhat shorter than cowboy boot tops.  Whenever he would sit and cross his legs his pant leg would stick in the top of one boot just like 'ol Ange.  It really did happen.  I've always kind of liked little things like that in the show...touches of individual personality.  I have always admired another of Andy's habits...when eating an apple he always used a pocket knife to cut very thin little slices and eat them one at a time.  This is an old timers habit and is very relaxing and a really fun way to eat an apple.  Try it sometime!
