My two nieces are in college in B’ham and Tuscaloosa. T-town was hit hard; also Arab which is close to Miss Crump’s neck of the woods took a big hit. Pray for all.

It was heart-wrenching to watch the news account of all those storms. The lives lost and the devastation seems nearly impossible to comprehend. I've been meditating not only for everyone's safety but also for an end to all the horrid weather.

Prayers for the state of Alabama.  :'(

The same system passed by here but I haven't heard of much damage or any twister touching down even though we were under a Tornado Warning for most of the night.

The Newsome's made it through the storms. We're alive and unhurt.  No power/internet for us nor anyone in the north Alabama area above Birmingham.  Jan and I are currently in a hotel below Birmingham.  Power isn't expected to be back on for 5 to 7 days.

We have it GOOD compared to so many.  Please be in prayer for all that lost loved ones, homes...everything.  They need our prayers and the Lord's comfort.  I'm inconvenienced but so many have had their lives changed.

They are ok, classes will probably be canceled so we just got to figure out away to get them home. The one in Tuscaloosa needs gas but all the pumps are down due to the power outage.

University of Alabama has cancelled finals. Students can take their current grades or re-schedule their finals.  There is gas in Northport (just north of Tuscaloosa) as they have power there.  Many stations are without gas but we saw tankers refilling at some stations yesterday.

The Lord be with and care for all those SO impacted by all this destruction.

Amen and amen - those pictures are awful. I grew up just south of there and lived there for 5 years. About half of the people I went to school with live there. It is terrible!

Glad the Newsome family is safe but I know that being without power is a real nuisance after a while.

Prayers for all those hurt by the tornado.

Lots of homes destroyed here in my town of Fayetteville from tornado on the 16th. But nothing like the destruction I've seen from Alabama. I sure hate it for all those affected by the storm. Glad you and your family are safe, Allan.

Thank you to all of you that were thinking and praying for all of us here in Alabama and the areas hit by the recent tornadoes.

Reports say it will be at least Tuesday or Wednesday before we get power back.  We're making it fine. We have a generator that's keeping the food from spoiling in the freezer and keeping things charged.  If I could just get my internet connection..I'd be almost back to 100%.

I've heard that if you have lost only electricity and water, you are truly blessed.

Just a reminder to keep the folks in Alabama in your prayers.  I put a video in the Art Class section showing just small portion of what the folks have suffered.

It's not over for all those folks so they still need prayers and help to get by.

A collection of many of the amazing stories related to the tornadoes that cut through Alabama on 27 April 2011.

So many people to pray for and offer assistance to it's hard to know where to begin.  Thankfully, the Lord knows what should be done and prayerfully He will guide us.
