I mean real big...BIG big! At least...it is to me. You may remember that a while back I'd posted a portrait I drew of Barney and Thelma Lou:

And that Allan, our own Miss Crump, had kindly offered to deliver it for me during Mayberry Days....Well, the time came! And I was such a nervous wreck waiting to hear if Miss Lynn liked it or not!!

She's looking at it!! *swoon*

She's touching it!! *swoon again* (Please forgive me for swooning so much, but I'm not kidding, this is a huuuuuge moment for me - so I hope you all don't mind me sharing it with you!)

*Happy sigh* I still can't believe it. Again, thank you so much, Allan, for delivering it for me - and to your dear wife for taking pictures!

Congratulations Mary Grace. I'll just bet Leonard Blush mentions this on his next broadcast. Might even mean an Extra Special edition of the Mayberry Gazette. It'll put Mayberry on the map!!

Aw, big ain't the word for it!

Excellent work on the portrait, Mary Grace! The fact that it made Betty Lynn smile pretty much says it all.

And Floyd opening it with the shears is just icing on the cake.

Let me tell you, that package was WRAPPED very well. It took me about 2 minutes to cut away all the protection. :)

Great job on the art work Mary Grace! It was my honor to be able to deliver your package to Ms. Lynn. She LOVED it! So did the other cast members that were sitting there with us.

The man on Betty's right is Elizabeth McRae's husband, Charles, and she was just to his right checking out the drawing.

You have a right to be mighty proud of yourself.

Thank you all so much for sharing in my excitement with me! I'd have posted a reply sooner, but I was having trouble getting into the board.

Ha! Allan, I warned you that I had that portrait protected like Fort Knox. ;D I was so afraid that it would get damaged in transit!

*Happy sigh* I'm still on cloud nine about this. I don't know that my feet have touched the ground since I saw the photos! :)

yep, when you first posted the picture of your art here on the board, I saved it to my computer...then when I first looked at Alans pictures from Mayberry days 2011 I saved those also and put them in the same folder! Great work from you, a work that obviously came from your heart! thanks for sharing this Mary Grace...you are "NICE...REAL NICE!"
