Title: Prayer requests
Post by Briscoe Darling on Dec 3rd, 2011 at 11:25pm
There are some good members here that are going through real hard times physically and financially.

Please include them on your prayer lists if you will.

Uncle Ollie...cancer, as well as blood clots in his
                   lungs.
Thelma Lou....full custody of her grandchild as well as
struggling week to week to try and get by.

Mary Grace...her mother just had open-heart surgery
2 days ago due to a torn aorta. As of
                   this writing, she is improving.
Rip....incurable neuromuscular disease that will
eventually put him in a wheelchair.

These are really good Christian people that I have gotten to know apart from Miss Crumps and they really need your prayers.

Thanks!   :)

Thanks for posting this. I knew of some of these problems, but not all of them. I'll add them all to my meditation list.

To all those who are struggling right now, my prayers are with you.  Hope this next year will be a better one for all of you.  We've had a rough one ourselves.  I won't even go into the catalog of woes our family has survived in 2011.

All of us but one has come through alive, thank you, Lord.  And the one who didn't (my mother-in-law) was 97 and went to her reward "full of years," as the good book says.

We're all in this thing called Life together, aren't we?  And getting together to reminisce about TAGS does help to lighten the load--for me, at least.

In the words of a very smart character from TAGS I'll simply close with:

All the best to you and yours (in 2012).

Prayers for all mentioned, and for those not mentioned. I believe we all need em, even if we think we don't.

Hadn't heard from Ollie in quite a spell, been thinking about him. Wishing nothing but good health, lots of pep, and plenty of good weather ahead to all my Mayberry pals in 2012.

This thread is for "Prayer Requests" only.

A meditation list is for a different kind of board.  ::)

A board where anything not in line with the moderators view is considered 'political' and therefore 'banned'? :-[

Not true. It's the forum owner, Allan, and not me, who has ruled political comments off limits.

Meditation is a form of prayer.

Friends,

I'll state up front that I am a Christian just to make this clear.

While, as Christians, we believe there is one God to whom we should pray I do not believe that Christ would behave as I've just seen toward someone whom does not believe.

He would love the person and come at everything from there.  Not be looking for ways to condemn in the way I saw.

I'm sorry that a kind hearted, and I believe sincere,  request for prayers for our fellow Mayberry friends somehow got derailed by someone saying that they would place them on their "meditation list."

I actually believe both sides somewhat took digs at the other and I'm not happy about it either way.

The "meditation list" comment was SURE to draw out exactly what it did.

That does not excuse the Christians at all because, according to Christian belief we show have compassion for those who do not believe and pray for them that the Lord would draw non-believers to Him.

I see nothing but failure in many of the attitudes I see.

And to bring up "Political" talk AGAIN....

Let me make this 100% clear.  There will be NO Political discussion on this board. That is *MY* rule and I will NOT budge on it.   I am sick and tired of this petty, baby attitude and it will stop.  You people need to act like adults and stop this back stabbing and bickering like 3rd grade students.

I can't believe that somehow a PRAYER REQUEST got turned into a personal attack on anybody.

I pray that the Lord will help us ALL see His love for one another and to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.  I see very little of that.

I'm sorry that my intentions in posting about my meditation list were misunderstood. No dig was ever my thinking. As a Buddhist who believes in God, meditation is prayer, and I was simply showing support and sympathy for our fellow members. I will avoid further problems by not posting to this thread, or similar threads, again.

We need to chill out, folks.  Everything (should be) OK in Mayberry!  Let's judge not and hope that others will give us the same benefit of the doubt.

As to politics...why do we need to discuss politics on TAGS website?
