Title: Ernest T. at the party
Post by Andyfan on Jan 19th, 2012 at 10:16am
It was wonderful wry to have the hostess mistake him for someone "from Boston." Then it got even funnier when, inevitably, Ernest T. began acting like Ernest T. But it was so happy to end it with he and Ramona playing together like children!

Definitely Back Bay Boston. Yeah, I can see it.

Also one of my favorite Mr> Schwump sightings. He looks like has is actually talking to a lady in the background of one shot.

I think one of the funniest scenes in all of TAGS is in this episode. Barney, trying to coach Ernest T. on how to enter the room, leaves and knocks on the door as if entering at a party. Ernest T. saying "I wonder who that could be" cracks me up. And then Barney, coming in with his fake handshakes and greetings and finally Ernest T. hollering "I CAN'T HEAR HIS AMMENANIES".
Funny funny stuff! ;D

Yes, this episode is definitely in The Top Ten!

"No coffee, tea, or punch...may I have this daance?"

They say there's someone for everyone.  Who'd a thought there'd be somebody for E.T.  Wonders never cease!

At the time this episode was filmed, the national news was focused on the Boston strangler, from the 'back bay' area of Boston. coincedence? I think not...

"Back Bay" area of Boston.  Is that the 'right side' of the tracks or the 'wrong side' of the tracks?

Back Bay is an officially recognized neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts famous for its rows of Victorian brownstone homes, which are considered one of the best-preserved examples of 19th-century urban design in the United States, as well as numerous architecturally significant individual buildings and important cultural institutions such as the Boston Public Library.

It's a pretty sight to behold, but doesn't seem like a place Ernest T. Bass would be 'from'!

One of the funniest lines of the whole series is in this episode.  Barney is talking to Andy about how the girls at the party are a bit homely.  He says "Aw come on Andy, if you flew a quail through this room, every woman in here would point!"

Still cracks me up every time I hear it!

I also like the scenes where Earnest T is trying to cut in to dance with Ramona again.  He gets real serious about it the second time!

"No coffee, tea or punch...thank yewww!"

"dogs....nothing but dogs...."

"didn't take."

"give it to him firm?"

"it rained last week." "Yeah, I's right 'tere in it."

This episode is rich with great quotes, many of which Mrs. Winslow and I use in ordinary conversation (not chit-chat).
