Mayberry meal
Jan 8th, 2009 at 9:43am

Hello!!!
Thanks for all of the prayers when I was sick.  I'm feeling much better now.
I just wanted to share with everyone to get Aunt Bee's Cookbook!  Briscoe got it for me for Christmas and we had a Mayberry meal last night.  We had Ernest Toss Salad and Dipsy Doodle Hamburger Noodle Casserole.  I will post the recipes below.  I modified them slightly from the book so I will post as we had them last night.  Both dishes were delicious.  Smiley  I'm looking forward to fixing some more, probably chili or soup next since the weather is supposed to be cooler here.

Dipsy Doodle Casserole

1 lb hamburger meat
16 oz box macaroni--the plain kind!
3-4 cans of cheddar cheese soup, depending on how cheesy you want it.

Cook hamburger meat.  Drain.  Cook macaroni according to box directions and drain.  Add to meat, along with soup.  Heat through.

Ernest Toss Salad

1 head lettuce
carrots, chopped
radishes, chopped
green pepper, chopped
tomatoes, chopped
4 tsp parmesan cheese
croutons
bacon bits
salad dressing of your choice
shredded cheese

Chop lettuce then add all other in vegetables.  Add parmesan cheese.  Toss!  Serve in salad bowls and top with croutons, bacon, cheese and dressing.

Three cuts of pie is Briscoe's high water mark!

Principle can Mrs Briscoe's modified recipes be moved to the online cookbook, I don't want to do no infringing on copyrights...If not it will be here, I would like to try these personally, Mrs Briscoe my Momma is bringing me an Aunt Bee's cookbook that she bought at Mayberry Days in about 1999, I guess each edition is different, I am looking forward to going through it.

There were no copyright laws violated!  If you will refer to my post, you will see that I "MODIFIED" these recipes when I made them and when I printed them here!  Copyright is violated when it is used EXACTLY as it is printed in a book or other publication without permission of the author.  Hope you enjoy the book.  I'm looking forward to using it often.

That is my take on it too Mrs Briscoe, I should be able to put them in the online cookbook because they are modified, but I was double checking with the Head Mountie...my post was asking the Principle, I was not accusing you of copyright violations...The cookbook my Mom gave me today is called "The best of Mayberry" by Betty Conley Lyerly...anybody know who she is? she autographed it for my Mom....and the sub title of the book is Home Economists Tested...

I was just clarifying it for you and anyone else.  No offense taken.  I just know from teaching school that this is correct, concerning copyright laws.  Since we have to have students write alot we are kept abreast of such.  I am not familiar with that cookbook you have.  Mine is Aunt Bee's Cookbook.
