Question for the Stooges fan.  I know they used Curley in a movie / short, after his stroke.  He had a non-speaking role, but there he was next to his brothers.

Question, did the three brothers ever show up on screen at the same time other than that?

That was Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register, filmed a few months after Curly's retirement.  Moe arranged for that cameo, to boost his brother's spirits.  That scene was resued in a remake, Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.

Curly also filmed a cameo for Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register; unfortunately, it was cut before release.  However, a noticeably thinner Curly, outfitted as a chef with a handlebar mustache, was photographed for one of the film's publicity shots... that shot appears on both MALICE's 1-sheet and title lobby card.  A few years ago, while doing research in director Jules White's files at the Motion Picture Academy library, I discovered the script page for Curly's brief scene.

A couple years ago, a color, 16mm reel of home movies was uncovered in a private collection, showing Moe, Larry & Curly at work on a few of their 1940s short subjects on the Columbia lot.  One of those clips features Moe and Curly, in costume for Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register, being joined outside the soundstage by Moe's wife Helen, and Shemp.  Production dates/notes reveal that at the time, Shemp was working on an adjoining soundstage, costarring in Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.

The reel of color footage is screened during special presentations at Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.

fyi -  Publicity shot was taken during production of Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register, on a location shoot on Larchmont Blvd.

Although still living in Brooklyn, where Shemp appeared in comedy shorts for Vitaphone Studios (a division of Warner Bros.) from 1932 - 1937, Shemp was visiting L.A., helping to move Solomon & Jennie Horwitz (Moe, Shemp & Curly's parents) to their new home in California.  Shemp, and his wife and son, permanently moved to the west coast in early 1937.

To the land of Fruits and Nuts, eh?

I know'd  you'd know Shemp.  Thanks.

What was the nature of Curly's part that was cut in Malice in the Palace?  I have that one on DVD

I really need to make  an effort to make it to the Stoogeum some day.

After Larry takes the order from Ghinna Rumma (George J. Lewis) and Hassan Ben Sober (Vernon Dent), he goes into the kitchen to find the chef (Curly) putting on his coat and going out to lunch... "I ain't gonna eat in this dump."  With Curly's bit out (scripted for approx. 15 sec. of screen time), in the released version of the film there's a quick segue cut, and we see Larry the waiter filling in as the cook.

Reportedly, Curly was unable to do the line without slurring/hesitating his words, so director Jules White left it out.  But he did keep the promotional photo of Curly that appears on the film's 1-sheet and title lobby card.
