Wash fresh broccoli and cut the crown into large pieces. Slice the stalk about 3/4 of an inch thick. This goes first onto a steamer basket. Scrub carrots well and bias cut about 3/4 of an inch and add to broccoli. A sliced onion goes on the top and shake a good amount of Spike seasoning over all. The water should be just under the bottom of the steamer basket. Steam until fork-tender but do not let it get mushy. This can be prepared quickly and is so much better than frozen veggies.
