Czechoslovakian Chickin Soup

Posted by: Emma on 04/19/97 18:33:49 CDT

1 Whole chickin
3-4 carrots, sliced
3-4 celery stalks, sliced
4 medium potatoes, diced (not too little)
1 can whole tomatoes, undrained
1/2 head cabbage
1-2 Tbsp. parlsey flakes
Package extra fine egg noodles

Cover chickin with water in large kettle and bring to a boil. Cook slowly for 1 hour. Add water as necessary to keep chickin covered while cooking. Take chickin from kettle after 1 hour and remove from bone and cut into bite-size pieces. Add all other ingredients EXCEPT egg noodles and put chickin pieces back in kettle, too. Cook on low heat for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Prepare noodles separately according to package directions and add to individual soup bowls with soup when done. Notice this recipe calls for no salt. Each person can salt to suit their taste. (The way a man salts is nobody's business)
Sorry---that should be "e before n in chicken".
