June 02, 2002 - Msg 7238: This is my first visit and I love this place!
Best to all of you, now I am going to have a bedtime slice of watermelon. No foolin'!
-Uncle Bil

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7239: Morning, everybody. Nice to meet you, Uncle Bil. We'll have to give you a door prize or something, since the very first time you posted, you made the porch sweep!
- Hazel

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7240: Welcome to town, Uncle Bil! You got the porch swept on your first posts. I bet that might have made you think you did something wrong. The porch "sweeps" itself automatically when it gets a certain size and places the old posts in the "Archives."
--Floyd

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7241: Morning Porch. Almost didn't recognise the place with it all swept up. Welcome to Uncle Bil. This is the place to be alright.
Hey Salty, prayers for you dear in whatever your needs may be.
How are you Hazel? I was thinking of you when I was out weeding my garden the other day, and all the fun we would have when I would weed your place with my 9 iron. I found my aim, if you are game. Heck, you looked kind of cute with yer eyes crossed. Besides they went normal after about 8 months anyway. Let me know.
Gotta go to work so I can keep up with the Neff's.
Ya'll have a great day.

Asa

"DID YOU MAIL THE LETTER? I DON'T WANT TO KNOW."

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7242: Good Morning Porch!! Hazel, I finally figured out who your character was last night, sorry I'm so slow. ("That will be all, thank you Hazel.") You play that piano so nicely! I sure am tickled to be seeing all these epps that I haven't seen since I was a kid. Dontcha just love the way they carry a joke over several eppisodes? Like Andy fooling Barney into thinking he "set around" with Juanita? "She's everybody's Juanita!"

~ Mrs. Wiley

Andy Taylor - you're real funny alright. HO HO, HA HA!

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7243: Mornin' porchsters! Busy weekend. Didn't ya just love Sunday's best last night? Boy, can those Mayberrians sing! How about Clara and Aunt Bea's singin' on TV? What a hoot! "Was that last year Bea?" "No, that was two years ago, Clara." "No, Bea, I believe that was last year." "No, Clara, it was two years ago, Don't you remember, last year was the poem?" OnTV! Put me in stitches! Aren't they great? Lots to do. Looks like ya'll been busy gabbin' without me. Hazel, to be honest, I didn't know who ya was either, till now! Any new female porchster oughta pick up Eleanora Poultice for a handle. That's quite a catchy name! Hey to Uncle Bil. Sam Scott, I understand your quest and as far as I'm concerned the porch would be a decent place to find a companion, but Dixie Belle is only 19. May-December, May-December. How's the guy-watch anyway, Dixie Belle?
Charlotte Tucker

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7244: Morning Porch, you know the weekend sure does go by quicker when you are off. What causes that? Hope yall have as good of a weekend as I did. Other than a little sunburn it was pretty good. Well Hazel I always thought you took your name from the chicken. When Andy had to throw the man out of his house, then they found that bond that was worth so much money, you know. He was clearing a place for Andy to sit down and said shoo Hazel or something. Oh well, yall have a good Monday if there is such a thing. What has happened to our Rock? Has he left? Do we need to call in the squad or put out an APB? Hope he's all right. Wheres DB too? Anything happen on GW02 this weekend? He to Asa and Mrs. Wiley, Hazel and welcome to Uncle Bil, you will like it here. See yall after work--Salty Dog

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7246: Hey to the porch. Nothing much new here. Just wanted to check in. Sounds like everyone is having a great summer so far. I am feeling so good these days. My doctor changed my medicine and it's got me feeling like a spring chicken.(We're not spring chickens any more, ya know Bee.)
Now where is Rock. I am kinda worried about him too. Hope he wasn't misbehaving and Mrs. Rock had to hit him over the head with a frying pan. Hey to all and hey to my buddy Briscoe Darling Jr. Hope you can make it across the Robert E. Lee natural bridge this summer. So glad the Mrs. Wiley is coming along so well. Hey to Romeena and Sugar Plum. Aren't ya glad that school is out, homemaker? DB I know you are anxious about the guy watch situation and I know that you probably don't want to hear this, but God is an on time God. He'll be there right on time.

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7253: Salty, you are so right about my name. I'm named after the chicken, not the piano player. I can't play the piano, not a lick. I'm a fine person in a lot of ways, but I just can't play the piano. Not a lick. Also, I had a pet chicken as a kid, so I wanted the same name as the chicken. Asa, I still don't have all my memory back from that blow to my head last summer, so I guess I've forgotten how bad it hurt. So I reckon you can come over and weed for me. Thanks.
- Hazel

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7254: Hello Porchsters: Just got the oldest of the brood out of High School yesterday. Been busy with the cookouts, parties, and family visiting. (There are plenty of leftovers if'n anybodys interested.) Asa- did your young'un get finished yet? Sure makes ya feel old. Wonder what causes that? Somethin' about a front porch that makes a real enjoyable visit with relatives. Chewin' and chattin' , yep, that's the fun of it. Well, gotta get the young'uns off the the tub. Sure can find a pile of dirt to wrastle in. (I bet building a new house would give ya a pile of dirt!!!) Glad to read the postings. ~New Neighbor

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7255: Hello porch! Welcome Uncle Bill. I've been so busy lately don't have much time to stop and say HEY! Miss y'all ...Ellen Brown

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7256: Hey Ellen Brown, long time no see. Don't be a stranger.
Hey N.N. Yer way to much a stranger too. You best be joining us more or else... My youngun has her big night tomorrow night. Then we take her out to eat and then she is off to an all night school sponsered slumber party.
Hey Mrs. Wiley, I think you and I is in harmony. I declare we should go on the road.
OK Hazel, I'll be over to weed that garden, ya'll best be ready.

June 03, 2002 - Msg 7260: Boy folks sure are getting fired up tonight aren't they? Threatening with a leg of lamb and golf clubs? Now I am upset! On the TAGS ep tonight wasn't there a part in it where Barney tells Goober to tell Lydia not to hang her head out the window like a dog? Or did I just imagine it? I didn't see it though. Oh well maybe I have been up too long today. Nite porch see yall in the morning!--Salty Dog

June 04, 2002 - Msg 7262: Morning Porch. Thanks Ellen for the birthday wish.
Thats all they understand is a legalamb, Hazel. You should know that.:)
You ain't dreaming Salty, tv land cut that part out and it bugs a lot of us. But they show other parts that I ain't seen in years so I reckon it's better than nothing.
Hey Aunt Bee. Good to see ya.
Msg 7259, grab you a name and a rocker and sit a spell.
Back to work for me.

Asa
Anyone want to go to the picture show? It's 3and1/2 clovers.

June 04, 2002 - Msg 7263: Mornin DEARS! You're right Salty - After the outing, I think Andy said something about Lidya hangin' her head out the window like a dog. Also, after Andy and Barney looked for stamps and talked about "splitting up" at the duck pond, Helen and Thel were fixing Thel's hair. Didn't the girls discuss something about the duck pond too? I wish they would run the WHOLE THANG!

Hazel, I stand corrected. I will now remember you as the woman who owned a chicken. :-)

3 cheers for all the young'uns out of school, my lil ones still have 5 and 6 years to go before gradiashun, but it still makes me feel old. Hey to Miss Ellen, Aunt Bee, Chick...I mean Hazel, NN and Asa. Ellen, to figure out how old Asa is, you have to have a patina chart. The shade of green on his bullets will tell you how long he's been sittin outside.

~ Mrs. Wiley
Andy: "...and pretty soon you'll be friendly enough to...hold her hand."
Barney: "Halaluiah."

June 04, 2002 - Msg 7264: Asa, I'll go to the picture show with ya... but if it's a G-man movie, don't go Glen Ford-ing it up all over town. ~ Mrs. Wiley

June 04, 2002 - Msg 7265: Mornin'! Sound pretty chipper here on the porch this morning. Hey to Ellen Brown and New Neighbor Aunt Bee, and Fun Girl. Hazel, I too, am glad you cleared up the origin of your name. The chicken it is. No problem, Dixie Belle, I didn't figure you wanted to hurt Sam's feelings. So I tried to "splain" it nice, real nice to him. Hey to Asa. Asa, did you lose Rock somewhere out on the golf course? Is he still over there behind hole #3 looking for his ball? Somebody better hep him. We miss him. Hey to Salty and Mavis. If anyone works in the nursing home or retirement community or knows someone with lots of ideas on those subjects, I'm looking for some authors for a magazine I'm going to be editing for seniors. June 04, 2002 - Msg 7266: Morning porch, it is gonna be a hot one today. When my a/c cuts on before 7 in the morning that aint a good sign. Well we are gonna have to go to this here tv land and tell them a thing or two. That just aint right to cut out the little lines and sayings that make the show what it is. Even the expressions on their faces makes the show for me. Like in the Christmas Story, the look on Ben's face when Barney comes in as Santa Claus is priceless. There are several other instances but I aint got thtat much room. Well what are we gonna do about Rock it aint like him to just up and leave. Hey to CT, Hazel, Mrs.W,Aunt Bee and Asa. I want to go to the picture show too. But if it is one of them scary one I dont want you freaking out on me and Mrs. Wiley ok? See yall later--Salty Dog

I've missed everybody. I've been trying to walk at least 2 miles a day, sometimes I can get 4 miles in. Trying to get more energy and feel better and maybe lose a little poundage!Anybody want to join me? Time goes by faster when you're walkin' with friends.

We've also been helping a good christian friend campaign for state senate. He had the most votes Tues. nite, but will be in a run off in 3 weeks. He did all this with a fraction of the money the other guys did! The Lord is with him.Ya'll remember him in prayer. We need more like him. We will be busy for 3 more weeks, it looks like. We've been in a community revival too. Prayers for that too, please. Busy, busy, busy! Maybe I can get to the porch more often after things settle a bit.

Asa, I pray that God will protect that little girl and keep her family. I've seen her story on the news also. I've been huggin' mine a little more often. One day will be in a perfect world! What a day that will be! No more of this kind of stuff.

Homemaker, do you have any of that homemade apple butter left? YUUMMMMM I might have to walk extry for that!
I'm gonna' check out the schoolexpress site too.
Thanks for the apple butter and the site.

Gotta go play in the dirt and plant some flowers.

How is everyone? Well I'm doing pretty good. Just five more classes then no more Summer session!! I'll never take summer courses again..... They cut into my baseball watchin' too much.

Had a scare this morning. My Dad and I ride bicycles on our back property in the mornings for excercise in the mornings.... well..... he somehow managed to go head first over his handle bars hitting the ground, head first, on a steep hill back there. Thank goodness he's ok. His neck is sore. From the way he hit I at first thought he had broke either an arm or his neck. All he got was a few scratches though.

Prayers for the kidnapped girl. Asa you be careful.

We have a lot of fun, and provide support for each other along the way. With all the trash that occupies the net these days, our little group is a bright spot that one can visit anytime and get a lift. Welcome! We hope you'll stay around. My Sugarplum says hey!--Romeena

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7308: Thanks to everybody for the nice welcome! I'm very sorry about that little girl. I pray that she'll be delivered safely to her family.

Rob

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7309: Thanks a whole lot for the welcome! I heard about the 14 yr. old girl. Our thoughts and prayers are with both she and her family. Miss Dixie Belle: I, too, am taking summer classes :(
so I know exactly how you feel. Had some pretty bad storms here, too. At least school is out for the summer. Lots of time to watch the kids catch frogs and crawdads in the creek. Have a great day tomorrow, and be somebody.

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7310: Welcome to Rob and Lydia and Possum and all the old regulars - we almost need a roll call.
It's been a busy day - I'll try to make muffins for you all in the morning.

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7311: Ev-e-nin Porch friends! I wasn't under the rock with Possum, my roadrunner service was down all day! Welcome Rob, Lidya and Possum - you'll enjoy it here! Asa you dear sweet man. You be careful out there looking for that missing girl. I been praying for the situation. And stay clear of those fires!! Hey to all my other fancy food-lovin porch pals - you know who you are! (and hey to Plumster)

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7312: WOW!!! If I'd known there was so much food I'd have come to the porch long ago! It's almost time for some homemade icecream.
Lydia

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7313: Hey, Lydia, I got a watermelon in the fridge already for the weekend. I'll bring it if you'll bring the homemade ice cream!! --Salty Dog

June 06, 2002 - Msg 7314: Can it be peach? I love homemade peach ice cream! What's everybody else's favorite flavors?

Rob

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7315: Any kind is my favorite. Depends on what kind I'm eating at the moment. ;) I like Yoo-Hoo chocolate. Has anybody made ice cream out of the Yoo-Hoo's? Delish, delish, delish. It's been a while since I've had that. We have a 'new' hand crank ice-cream maker that we need to try so I'll make some sometime and ya'll can try it.
Comin' to the porch hungary is about like goin' to the store hungary. I DON'T need to do that! Makes me hungrier! I'll keep me a box of Little Debbies nearby just in case! ;)
Did anybody see Andy on Biography tonite? My hubby and son missed it, they went to revival. I didn't feel very well, so I didn't make it. I wish I could have found a blank tape. Maybe they'll repeat soon.
Continued prayers for the family in Utah, and for the searchers. May the Lord keep his hand upon them and protect that little girl. Good nite all--Helen

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7316: Howdy, friends. My personal favorite in homemade ice cream depends on who's making it. My daughter-in-law's mom makes a wild peach ice cream, and my own dear mother made pineapple ice cream that was just marvelous! Wish I could find her recipe. I have her books and recipe boxes, but haven't found that one yet. I think it was just good basic vanilla with a couple of cans of crushed pineapple added, but when I tried it, mine just didn't taste quite like hers.
Did you know you can make a terrific chocolate ice cream by substituting chocolate milk and also adding a box of chocolate instant pudding? Beat the pudding into the choc milk until smooth, then proceed like for any flavor - eggs, vanilla, etc.
Any word on that little girl? Dear Lord, what's this world coming to? I pray she will be found safe.
Well, this tired old gal is heading for some much-needed sleep. Off work tonight, and am I glad! Sugarplum says hey!--Romeena

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7317: Nite porch, prayers for everyone that needs them and I guess that pretty much means the whole world this day and time. See yall in the morning--Salty Dog

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7320: I'm off today, too! Actually now that school is out I'm off every day! :) We're taking a group of kids to see an outdoor drama tonight. I hope the weather gets clear. Have a great Friday everyone. By the way, I like plain vanilla icecream with homemade chocolat chip cookies! (Still warm, of course).

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7321: Morning Porch. God bless you folks for your prayers for this little one from Utah. Spent much of the day yesterday searching for any thing we could find. Last night a man matching the suspect was seen up one of our canyons and took off running into the brush when the yelled at him. Gunshots where then heard. The police spent all night with dogs and by helicopter searching the area. Nothing found as of this morning, although this canyon will be searched heavily today. It is very rugged and very steep cliffs and lots of places to hide. Keep them prayers a coming, I know the family is grateful for it.
It was an honor to be involved in some small way yesterday and the thing that hit me was the amount of support that is out there. We had folks from all over the country, in the middle of their vacations, going out and searching. Close to 2,000 searchers yesterday, looking for a little girl they don't even know. That my friends was an awesome thing. This country is full of some great people, and you folks here on the porch are right at the top. God bless you guys and go hug your families today.

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7322: Morning to all the porch-ters! Seems like we need to have an ice cream fest up here on the porch, with PEACH being the flavor of choice-yum yum!
Blessings to all-especially Asa and the searchers in Utah. That child has been on my mind constantly.I'm praying for a good outcome.

Guywatch '02 Update: Me thinks thet Mason(guy#1) knows thet me likes him. Not sure if this is good or bad. Haven't heard from Josh(The waiter) but that's alright. My friend has yet to figure out if he really is her cousin or not.

Well I better go.

Mayor Pike: You didn't!
Andy: I did.

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7324: I'm taking four classes this summer all to get my principal's cert. Not the best way to spend a summer, but it's only 2 nights/week, and finished in July.

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7325: Howdy porch friends, anyone for some tuna/pasta salad stuff for lunch? I have lemonade and watermelon too. Yall come on over it is all ready. Asa glad you are OK. Keep us updated now or we will be worrying. See yall later--Salty Dog

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7326: Don't worry about me Salty. I'm doing ok. This thing is just horrible though. We feel so helpless and as more time goes by, our hopes begin to fade. Keep the Smart family in your prayers. The Mom is not doing well at all and the Dad was put in the hospital this morning with exhaustion. We are expecting a storm to roll in here tomorrow afternoon that are going to drop temps. big time, so we are feeling somewhat in a time crunch. Thanks for your prayers and support you guys. If you would like to help there is one thing you might do. They are asking to download her picture and post them wherever you can. I know its a long shot, but we must try every possible avenue. If you could do that, I would be grateful. I hope Allan does'nt mind me doing this. Go to ksl.com and you can read more on this and it will link you up to download her picture. Thanks again for all your prayers, you guys are the best. God bless.

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7329: Best wishes Asa on your part of the search. . .you know we would all be there with you if travel and time weren't a factor.

On the subject of ice cream- we teachers need o stick together - vanilla with warm chocolate chip cookies unless it is from the store - then it is Heath Bar ice cream but since I've sworn off sweets for the summer - it looks like I'll sip my sugar free lemonade and enjoy the conversation

Have a good evening everyone and a pleasant week-end. Maybe we'll all meet at the lake and don't forget the potato salad (can't have that either:( )

((((Hugs to the little girl in Utah))) and prayers too.

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7330: Hi all. Guess I better mention that my favorite icecream is vanilla too. But, alas, like Homemaker, I can't have any. I'll just sit here and eat my celery sticks. Asa, it's so depressing about the Utah girl. A similar thing happened in Idaho Falls on Wednesday morning. I don't know if if made your paper down there. A man kidnapped a girl from her backyard while she was sleeping outside. Sometimes the world is such a scary place. God be with you all.
- Hazel

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7331: I can tell I'm gonna like it here on the porch. The people are so friendly, and ya'll love to talk about food! That's a winning combination if ever I saw one. Especially cuz supper was five hours ago and breakfast is still eight hours away. *sigh* ;-)

Is there any news about the kidnapped girls in Utah and Idaho? Those stories break my heart. I don't have daughters myself, but my neighbor has two girls, ages 12 and 14. I love those kids, and it's impossible for me to imagine how anyone could want to do them harm. All my hopes and prayers are with the families of those missing girls.

Thanks again to everybody for the warm welcome!

June 07, 2002 - Msg 7332: Night porch got to get up at 6 in the morning. Ate at Rio Bravo tonight for supper. Any of yall ever been?? Thats the best salsa ever put on a table. They twang my buds!! June 08, 2002 - Msg 7333: Good evening, folks. Prayers for both of those little girls. Apparently it's true - Satan is alive and well on Planet Earth! However, those of us who have read the Book know that God wins in the end. That's what keeps us going.
Lucky me, I got cancelled at work tonight (my request), so will be able to sleep before The Big Move tomorrow. My dad doesn't understand why we're not over there packing things right now. Since he's only moving from one building to another, (independent living to assisted living) and since we have movers hired to do the big stuff, it's not necessary. Dresser drawers will remain intact. Other small stuff will be hand carried, and we'll be done in a few hours. His anxiety level is high, however, so please pray that mine will remain low.
Have a great weekend, friends. Sugarplum says hey!--Romeena

June 08, 2002 - Msg 7334: Good morning porch, off to work . Left some coffee and juice on the table for yall. Hope all is well with my porch family. Getting ready to go to the races tonight after work then tomorrow we are gonna go see Skynyrd. I can't wait. Mavis yall be careful going to the beach and bring us all back some of that salt water taffy they make down there too. And any pictures of any purty men you might see wandering around. hee hee. Yall have a good Saturday and rmemeber the ones that need prayer. See ya later--Salty Dog

June 08, 2002 - Msg 7336: Morning porch. For the people who've asked about the kidnapped Idaho girl, she's already been found (she got away from the kidnapper). Sorry I didn't finish the whole story when I mentioned it yesterday.

June 08, 2002 - Msg 7337: Hey Salty Dog, a friend of mine went to see Skynard last night in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He said the put on a great show. Hope you enjoy it too. He is also going to see the Eagles in Knoxville over the 4th of July weekend and a few weeks ago he went to see Jimmy Buffet. I think he has had about all the fun he is allowed for one summer. I have yet to begin having my share of fun. The hubby is off to Las Vegas on Monday. He and his brother are meeting out there for a few days. They haven't seen each other for about a year and a half when Mike was out there when his dad was dying. Hope they relax and enjoy themselves. Little Opie and I have started homeschooling. We have started with phonics hoping to improve his reading with a few other subjects thrown in. So far he is doing great. And he doesn't even hate me yet, so I guess that is an a good sign. (Of course this is just a casual summer school type of thing. The hate may come later.) I'm planning a get away thing later this summer. Me all by my self with a suitcase and a backpack full of good library books.
See ya'll later.

Well I am off to bed now gotta get ready to go see Skynyrd tomorrow!! Mav, have a good trip. See yall in the morning--Salty Dog

June 08, 2002 - Msg 7346: Dear Porch Friends, I have been out of touch for a couple days. Busy times here--kids' games, husband's class reunion, etc. Out of touch with the news. Any more word on the girl in Utah? Prayers for her and her family. We went to a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for the kids today. Got 3 different girls to play with my little girl--(ones that don't have mean parents if you remember that fiasco back in March). This is the first time one of them had played in a 3 on 3 and only about the third time for another one. They are in 4th grade and got third place. My little girl did real well. She has a hard time with things so I was very pleased. Worked up some proposals for a woman to present to a company for me to write some Christian educational materials. Say a prayer that Charlotte gets this assignment. I really want to work on some Christian books. Love all the food talk. Seems like Salty usually starts that! Bless Asa for his help in the search in Utah. There's a reward in heaven for that. Good Sabbath tomorrow. I'm going to bed.
Charlotte Tucker

June 09, 2002 - Msg 7347: Morning porch, Good Sabbath to everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. Having watermelon for breakfast. So anyone is welcome. Well CT, what can I say? I LOVE food. Well axcept for tomatoes and bananas. We are off to see Skynyrd today. It is an outdoor thing and it's gonna be HOT so I got my spf 45 stuff with me. Asa, I hope things are ok with you, haven't heard from ya. I know you are busy though. Well yall have a wonderful day. See ya later!!--Salty Dog

June 09, 2002 - Msg 7348: Good Sabbath Porch, the Gulf of Mexico sez "hey". Prayin for Charlotte to get that 'gig', sounds like a rewarding challenge. Fun Girl, go to the Blue View, I hear it's a dandy place to eat and dance (Andy: The Blue View!). Hope Asa is holding up OK in that search. Think I'll bake him a pie. I got fresh bluberries and strawberries. Guess I'll go hunt me a recipe.

~ Mrs. Wiley

Andy: Aunt Bea, you go to way YONDER too much trouble! We ought to give you a title or something..."Miss Luncheon Tray".

Andy: Aunt Bea, we should give you a title - "Miss Fried Chicken of Mayberry".

June 09, 2002 - Msg 7349: Hey porch pals. How is everyone? Sorry I haven't been around here much, but you know what I've been doing. Have spent 3 of the last 4 days up in the hills searching river banks and hill sides. By the time I get home at night I am just plain whooped, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Wish I had something good to report but nothing. I hate to come on here and bring everyone down so I'll keep it to myself, just keep the Smart family in your prayers if you would. They really need it bad. Thank you folks.
And don't you all make me sound like no hero cause I've been doing this. I know you would be doing the same thing if it was going on in your town. But the concern shown by you all is great.
And one upbeat thing, the way the community here has bonded together is unreal. We have seen upwards of 2,000 folks a day showing up to help. And the local business folks have been unreal. They have donated tons of stuff, everything from sun block to fanny packs to more food than they know what to do with, massages from the massage institute, counseling from trained therapists as this is really hitting some of the searchers very hard. It has been a tremendous outpouring of love and concern and a willingness to want to help however they can. Very much how I would envision Mayberry to be. A national franchise (Dave Thomas would be proud) is donating food by the truckload as is many local grocery stores. It has been something to see how folks have pulled together for an innocent little 14 year old girl. May the good Lord bless us with the ability to find her soon. And may he bless you folks to for your love and support. Bless you all.

Asa

June 09, 2002 - Msg 7350: Asa, you ARE a hero to us. The others seachers are heros as well, but you are OUR own hero on the porch. You take care of yourself and I'm praying that your efforts will be rewarded, and soon. I'll be sure and go to Wendy's the next time I want a burger to thank them for feeding all of ya'll. (((((ASA)))))
Vacation sounds good. We're going to Sandestin FL. in a couple of weeks and then to the Grand Hotel in Mobile AL in July. A portion of this Hotel was a hospital in the War Between the States. A lot of history there. I'm looking forward to that trip. Officially it is a business trip for my hubby, but we get to go and make it a vacation!
Fun Girl, going on vacation with books sounds so wonnnnnderful! Uninterrupted quiet time is so nice sometimes.
Homeschooling is the best. I'm happy for you. I know you'll continue to enjoy it.
I hope you enjoyed the LS concert SD and congrats on the winnings.
Well off to make Asa a hero sandwich to go with Mrs. Wileys pie. Have a good nite.--Helen

June 10, 2002 - Msg 7351: Hey yall man oh man what a show!! Skynyrd was totally awesome tonight! Now I got to hear all their old stuff and some new. It was pretty cool getting to hear Sweet Home Ala, Freebird, Call me the breeze and all that. But the best part I meant the clincher of it all was at the end. After they had done Freebird the full 12 minutes of it and the group had walked off stage, Guess what played next?? The TAGS theme!!! It was just the coolest thing. Well I am beat see yall later--Salty Dog

June 10, 2002 - Msg 7352: Mornin porch! Sorry to hear about the kidnaped girl's our prayers are with them all. There has really been a lot going on these past 2 months. last month in the span of 3 weeks we had 8 funerals. One just friday a friend of mine lost her grandson, he had just grad. high school. Now my sons girlfriends .. Dad is in the hospital very bad. I've been working a lot here lately, getting ready to take some time off, I just can't work like I use to. Been having trouble with keeping algi out of my garden pond, bought some new stuff, to try. The lady at pet trio says she uses it in hers. This is my first year with the pond & she said ithappens a lot with the first year but after that it wont be so bad. My fish are really getting big, we only had one to die. This weather is crazy, cold one day hot the next.LOL. I still don't have my pool lined out . Found a new hole in it. Hey Salty Skynyrd is one of my favorites, what a treat, and to top it off with the theme from TAGS, so happy for you girl. Mrs Wiley I'ld love to have a strawberrry short cake, I missed out on the fresh strawberries this year & last year. Mavis I guess I've missed the post where you & Floyd has tried to explain how to use color in these here post. LOL Everyone is back in their homes after the flood a few had damage, some bad some not so bad. But their all getting on with life now. I hope Asa and all involed with the search are doing well. Pollyanna says Hey to the Plum and Sammy. ((((((((HUGS)))))))) TO ALL...... Ellen Brown
Barn: you know what I'ld do if I was to see her today? I'ld go to her door and when she would answer, I'ld bite off the end suck out all the syurp & hand her the ice, what do you think of that?
Andy: (smiling) well if a 35 year old man came to my door with a sno-cone in his hand I wouldn't answer thr door.

June 10, 2002 - Msg 7353: Hey to all. Lots of spicy talk. Glad you enjoyed the concert, Salty. That's amazing! Why would LS end on the TAGS theme? I'm impressed. A gold star for Wendys and all the other businesses who have contributed in the search. Hang in there, Asa. Hey to Ellen Brown. Long time no see. Hey to Helen and Mrs. Wiley. Where's Mavis and Romeena?
Have a great day. I think it's going to be a hot one here.

June 10, 2002 - Msg 7354: Hi Folks, Hope all is well and thanks for the prayers for my friend. Teresa starts Chemo on the 17th but that is just to keep her alive a little longer.;o( We blame the doctors mostly, they saw something when they gave her a hystrectomy (sp?) years ago but didn't check back
on it. She is so young, just 42.
On a new subject....I'm moving to Conway, SC! Looks just like Mayberry RFD! Thay have a good university for teaching and a down home flavor!
Salty, lucky you! Lynard is Awesome!
Ellen, sorry to hear about the troubles, know the feeling, seems like the Cancer Demon has grown and is taking his toll on many. A lot of my friends parents and now my friend has been had by that monster in the past 3 years. Also Ellen, good you still have fish in your pond, we have all kinds of critters that eat the fish in the garden ponds here, pelicans and otters are the biggest trouble (NC/SC coast).
Asa, my prayers are with you and the Smart family, I really do hope God has kept that young lady alive and well and ya'll find here soon.
Ya'll have a good day and see ya'll again soon.

We aren't planning a vacation this year - most likely - we will do a whopper next year. We would love o either go to TX or to the NC - it's all because of goats. We would look at other things too but we like our goats. The boys have or will have gone to FL with the grandparents so they aren't being deprived of going and doing.

No much happening here - heat, rain, chores:)
