Last night I was watching first ep of season 2
Opie and the Bully, and I did a pause and zoom on the picture in the hallway by Opie's door. To me it looks like 3 people standing up in a boat!
Not a good example for little Opie! haha
To any other "zoomers" let me know what you think it is. (I know, I need more to do!)hahah again.
The epilog was cute also.

Prayers for all porchsters, families and friends, troops etc God Bless,

June 02, 2005 - Msg 29053: I haven't seen the promo spots for Sanka, MDC. Of course, I have been missing alot of TAGS lately on account of being busy with moving stuff. Who's in them? Anyone we know?

I'd hate to "bogart" all the prayers, which is what it seems like I have been doing lately, but Kai has her heart check-up tomorrow. I'm hoping for some better news than what it seemed like we got last time.

To end on a lighter note, I saw this sign at Subway tonight. It said - and I hope I don't offend anyone particularily our soldiers and veterans - but it said, "Remember our fallen heros". Now that message in and of itself is quite poignant and moving, and justifiably so. It was just that it being under a big Subway sign struck me as kind of funny. Being that Subway is a sandwich shop and one definition of "hero" is a certain kind of sandwich.

It just makes me think... do they drop alot of sandwiches at that Subway?! And why do they want us to remember them?

Ok, I'll stop with the lame jokes and go to bed.

June 03, 2005 - Msg 29057: Oh, Sterling. You can count on prayers for Kai from me and my SS class. Will definitely keep her on our list.
As for the "lame" jokes, your sense of humor is one of the things I enjoy about you. I tend to find humor in some of the same things. Truly, the same "hero" thought would have gone through my mind if I had seen that sign, in that particular location. My sense of humor has been variously described as twisted, or weird, or (most often) as warped. I don't care, I still have fun and laugh a lot. My whole family was/is like that, especially on my father's side. They could find humor in anything, probably because there were times when humor was about all they had. I hear echoes of my family's speech and expressions in things that Andy says, in just about every episode.

Well, off I go. Errands to run, lots to do. Have a great day, everyone. Pappa Bear, where are you??? Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

On the western site that pappa bear also posts on, his last post on May 20, said he had a lot to do since his sister's passing and would be "booked thru June", so hopefully that is all it is, but keep him in your prayers, as he does have renal problems. Thanks!

We took her to her favorite place afterwards, Chuck E. Cheese's, and she had a great time!
Oh yeah, the guy who did her echo-cardiogram gave her a teddy bear that was wearing the same logo on its sweater as what was on kai's dress. That was neat!

Setting - Mayberry, May 2005
Intro - Opie hasjust moved his family back to Mayberry and taken his old job as editor of the Mayberry Gazette. He is writing the obit for Ernest T. Bass. He and Andy are meeting Barney for lunch ---

Andy and Opie walked into the diner and saw their friend sitting at a table in the corner. As they approached he stood up, visibly agitated.

“Ange, Opie, did you hear the news?”

“Calm down Barn, what news?” Andy replied.

“O, Andy its big.”

“What is it Barney?” Opie interjected.

“Its big – REAL big.”

“Barney, sit down and tell us what has you so riled.” Andy said in a way that only a best friend could.

The men took their seats as Barney calmed himself down. “Let's order lunch and talk it over quietly,” Opie was trying to get the older man to calm down. At 80 Barney didn't need too much excitement.

After the waitress left with their order Andy spoke up. “Now Barn, tell us what this big news is.”

“Andy, Opie,” Barney took a breath, “They're going to tear down the courthouse!”

June 09, 2005 - Msg 29122: Good morning, everyone! The Plum and I are packing up our stuff today - shorts and t-shirts for me, visor hat and life jacket for her - and heading for Florida this afternoon, to spend some time with my son and his dear wife. It will be a fun and relaxing time as always, and I'm really looking forward to it. Lots of quiet time by the pool, or in the hammock down on the dock by the lake, good food off the grill - it will be great! Anybody in Central Florida? Come on by!

I probably won't do much porch-sitting for the next couple of weeks, though I'll try to drop by if I can. I'm concerned about our mayor Pappa Bear, and will try to check in to see if he's returned. Also will try to get a snail mail note off to TOM before I leave.

Take care, everyone, and have a wonderful week. Sugarplum, the traveling puppy, says hey! --Romeena

June 09, 2005 - Msg 29123: One more thing - I just wrote a note to Tom, and told him that we're interested in helping him get back on the porch. I asked him what is needed, and how we could help. I made no promises, but assured him that there are enough of us who can participate that it's possible we can help. Maybe I'll have an answer from him by the time I get back home. Will keep you informed.

No rain here and we are behind about 2 inches. It is DRY as a bone here. They say the corn crop is going to start stressing if no substantial rain comes soon and yields will be down.

We won our ball game last night by one run AND my son got a base hit and scored too! IT was a good game and no tears tonight. Being 8 can be awfully rough sometimes.

June 09, 2005 - Msg 29127: Hey Guys. I don't know if there is an APB out for me but I know I've been away awhile. Seems like ages! School, school, school. Summer classes are so demanding. I am doing well in both classes though. Yea! I'll be through in the next week and a half and then I'll be free for a while!

Nothing too new to report. Just school right now. I'll be back soon hopefully.

Hey to everyone!

June 09, 2005 - Msg 29128: Oh, I gotta tell you also, I was watching "Crime Free Mayberry" on the dvd last night and was reminded once again the the comedy bit in the barbershop about killin' a carp with the flustered lady reporter is the funniest of the series in my humble opinion! I think it ranks right up there with "Who's on First," which, I have been told the writers were emulating.
Then for Mayor Pike walk in and complete the whole thing is just great. I do a lot of LOL!!!
Hey, maybe that's where Pappa Bear is, he may have gotten his picture taken with the FBI agent, and we all know that's a big NoNO!
The long lost epilogue is perfect too. Barney is at the typewriter writing "the ballad of Barney Fife" to the tune of "Oh My Darling!" and Andy walks in on him...PRICELESS!

But NOOOOO, it was his COMPLETE works, and I never read so much middle English in my life! haha

Well, my friend will be picking me up shortly to take me to the airport. No, MDC, I'm not about to make a two-day drive and motel stop with a tired little furkid. We climb on a big bird, I settle her at my feet in her little carry-on bag, and in 2 1/2 hours, we're there! Can't beat it, and at the price of gasoline and motels, it really doesn't cost any more, maybe even a bit less.

Well, off we go. Have a great weekend, everyone. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

June 10, 2005 - Msg 29143: Hey Irishster! Did the tape arrive yet?
Jelsik - Hey!
Slim- Sometimes it is a word that is hidden in a longer word that activates the censor. Also, interlopers have sometimes just put a bunch of letters in a row to use up space, so those will get bumped too. As ASA says, it helps prevent him from usin' that dis-asembled gun of his and those darn green bullets! teehee
Good to see Charlene pass thru. Everyone must be having a busy summer!

June 13, 2005 - Msg 29160: G'morning, all! Notes from Florida - the Plum and I arrived safely, all settled in here in my son's beautiful home. Been doin' some dock-sittin', and gave the Plum a big old haircut down there, where the wind could blow the clippings away. She looks like a different puppy! Hair about three or four inches long, instead of sweeping the floor. It's her summer cut.

Been raining here - a LOT - the backlash from Arlene. The storm itself passed over a hundred miles to the west of us, but sure dumped some rain on us. Very pleasant. We sat out on the lanai last night, part of which is under cover, and just watched the rain. We heard one of the bobcats scream, just once. There are four of them that live in the band of wetland strip about 120 yards deep that encircles the lake. My son has a walkway across it, and a dock on the lake itself. I drove his new Seadoo - it will hit 60 over open water without even breathing hard. Fun!

Welcome, Snoopy. You'll love it here, lots of friendly folk. Slim, don't take that censor thing personally. It has happened to all of us. The "bold" that was mentioned may have been a word or just a group of letters in a word and you might have overlooked it on the white screen display you saw when the entry was refused. It's confusing at times, but it's well worth it to filter out the garbage that unfortunately comes our way sometimes.

Well, dogs are barking, guess I'll leave my perch here at this window overlooking the lake and go down to see what the commotion is all about. Everyone have a great week! Sugarplum (the perky, short-haired puppy) says hey! --Romeena
