June 25, 2006 - Msg 40853: We have a station that plays oldies from 8 to 12 pm. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40854: I swept again!!! Barnwannabe.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40855: I think she is, BWB
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40856: WHOA! Two sweeps in 2 hours? Is that a record?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40857: Thanks for understanding Boo, and I am sorry. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40858: OK, perhaps I need to sound less harsh, and more PC. How does "people habitually exhibiting wanton scumminess" sound? They could be known as PHEWS. (teehee) --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40859: Thanks for that MIL!!! I hope that I can help her. I like this sweeping thing. LOL!!! BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40860: Boo, Lucy is right. Think of this as an opportunity.....for healing.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40861: I am rolling over that one RO. I'll stick with lowlife. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40862: PHEWS! oh, my, I haven't laughed so hard!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40863: That's the funniest thing I've ever heared. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40864: Ro, you scamp!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40865: Before ya'll think that I'm not a christian for going to Church tomorrow, it's because of my wife's hours. I really shouldn't tell ya'll this, and it sounds weird, because of my perfession, but she's a 911 dispatcher. Yep a 911 Dispatcher. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40866: Y'all deal with a lot of the same people, I bet.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40867: Does anyone remember POSSLQ? Persons of Opposite S-x Sharing Living Quarters? Y'all are probably too young, but I remember it. Back when living together first "got popular" and society in general was trying to fit it into the (then) current mores, somebody came up with that. Seems "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" just didn't cut it anymore, those who were wading in the waters wanted it known - it was a social statement in those days - but they just couldn't come up with a term. Hence, POSSLQ. Pronounced Possle-Q. It didn't catch on, obviously. Probably my PHEWS won't either. (sniff.) --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40868: Yes we do, in fact, she is the one who dispatches the police to the rapes and assualts, and such that I send them to jail for. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40869: Thanks Lucy, I know that not all judges are like my Dad, I just wish my dad had been like more judges, know what I mean? I believe there are alot of good ones out there.

You see, when I was a little girl, my dad hung the moon. I adored him and he was always there for me. He was the one I would go to when I was hurt or afraid. I can remember bursting at the seams with excitement every day just waiting for him to get home from work. I just couldn't wait for him to come through that door so I could fly into his arms. He was a good dad to me, but when I was about 7, he became a judge and starting seeing the other woman and he was always gone. He just wasn't around anymore. Of course, I didn't know why at that time but I know he wasn't there much. I regret that. Anyway, I know we all had problems growing up so I won't dwell on it. It's just kind of hard to explain that for most of my life I turned off my emotions and now that I am in therapy, the emotions are turning back on, so to speak and I am feeling the past hurts that were not dealt with. The conversation with BWB just struck some kind of chord that brought back a painful memory, and really, that is a good thing (my counselor would thank you, BWB!). The pain needs to come out so I can get rid of it. Thank you all for the kinds words. You are a help to me. Just want you to know that I might be a bit "sensitive" for awhile.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40870: You know, bwb, I was just thinking. I've never been arrested or been in any kind of trouble, and yet I've been in every jail, every courtroom, every magistrate's office within 30 miles of here.
Sad. Very sad.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40871: LOL RO !!! BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40872: Boo, bless your heart. You ARE healing. We are here for you. You are special and loved.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40873: What Mil??? BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40874: Boy the porch is hoping tonight!...think I will have a piece of pound cake and milk...yall want a hunk?...watching African Queen [bogart]...SPOT

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40875: Boo, I guess your welcome. Was that mean of me??? Somebody help me out here. I don't mean to hurt you with this, but just to let you know, I would never think of cheating on my wife. I love her so much, that if I tryed to, I'd kill myself out of pain for her. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40876: Sure spot, cut me some. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40877: It's just sad. I guess because I'm a goody goody, I always get those middle of the night calls. At least a dozen times with Sean's mom, and as many for my brother and various "friends"....I always cringe when the phone rings after midnight.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40878: PHEWS, I think I like that better! ha!
Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40879: OH NO! I'm missing African Queen....? Excuse me a minute.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40880: Me too, boo. Mil, I get it now. I hope that Sean's brother is okay. Have you fought for him??? BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40881: .....oh, good, all I misse was the killing part. The best part is coming up! YIPPEEE!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40882: Now Mil, you come your bohonkas right back here!!! LOL!!! BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40883: No BWB, I'm alright now. Good, don't ever allow yourself to be tempted in that way. It is never worth the pain in causes.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40884: Yes, BWB, it's a very messy thing. He has a different PHEWS for a dad than Sean. Very BAD>
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40885: I love African Queen....sorry BWB, I'm outta here...

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40886: Y'all know my restaurant is called BOGART's, right?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40887: Oh, thanks for being so nice, Millie. I think its time to say goodnight.....God bless you all,

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40888: I'm glad you liked that, BWB. Maybe you can think of it now and then when you'd like to reach over your bench and smack some sense into somebody's head.

Boo, I just can't imagine what that would be like. I've had a few hard bumps in my life, with cancer 1979, losing my husband when I was 56, my dad's Alzheimer's and all, and losing both parents in the past few years. Of course, they were both 80 or older, so that was just natural, but it still hurt. Nevertheless, I never was disappointed or betrayed by anyone whom I loved, so I can't imagine how that would feel. Hang in there, my friend. God is the one and only constant in this life, He never lets us down, and I know that you, of all people, know that. You'll be in my prayers. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40889: Goodnight Boo.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40890: Mil, did the Judge grant the Dad custody, if so, appeal it. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40891: No, the mom, Sean's mom has custody, he's in prison....so is Sean's dad.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40892: RO, I want to do that a lot. I didn't know that Mil. Goodnight Boo.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40893: uh, oh, the Germans......get out of there, Bogey!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40894: I hate that, Mil. If it were up to me, I'd grant ya'll custodt in a minute. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40895: Thanks Ro. Yes, there is nobody as important in a little girl's life as Daddy. It has to leave some scars. I am very concerned these days for all the children of divorce or who never even meet their dads. It is an epidemic.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40896: Boo, I've been reluctant to say it here, but my dad let me down in a big way, for 40 years. I don't know if I'll ever get over it.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40897: OK, goodnight for sure this time!
Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40898: Uh-oh, can't go to bed after Millie's post.
Would you like to talk about it, Dear?
Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40899: Goodnight again, Boo. Sweet Dreams.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40900: I'm fine....I gave it to God.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40901: You still there, Mil?
Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40902: OK, good. I am happy to listen if you want to talk later. Love, Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40903: BWB, re custody, at the time I was characterized as a "terminal cancer patient" so we had to let go.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40904: ....awwww...the lovy dovy part...
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40905: Isn't it weird that you can't adopt a puppy from the SPCA without undergoing a rigorous check on your ability to provide it with a good home, but any ditzy girl can get pregnant and just decide to keep it? We have them come in to deliver, and learn that they're living in their car somewhere! Others come in saying the baby will be for adoption, the adoptive parents are there complete with carseat and clothes, and hearts full of love, and at the last minute, the 17 yr old, unemployed girl says "Oh, she's just so cute, I think I'm going to keep her!" In one case, one of our own deliveries came in at age four months, beaten up and bruised, with shaken-child symdrome, and died. The dumb little girl's boyfriend did it, then skipped the country, back to El Salvador. Just try to get him extradited. Ha! --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40906: I may not be much on giving out info Mil, but I'm here if you do want to talk about it as well. Mayberrian to Mayberrian. Barnwannabe.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40907: Millie, your words concern me: "...I don't know if I'll ever get over it". You say you have given it to God and that is the most important thing but maybe you should talk to a good counselor....just a thought, you don't even have to respond.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40908: Oh MIl.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40909: That's "syndrome", of course. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40910: I hate extridition cases RO. They are so hard to rule on. BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40911: Still there MIL??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40912: My heart breaks for you girls. When I think of my dad, Tom Trueheart himself, I just can't imagine. God bless you both. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40913: RO, that just makes me sick! I know just what you are talking about, though, having been a nurse in Labor and delivery for 13 years. It just makes you heart-sick.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40914: I have. I just meant that while I forgive him, I can't forget....and even though I forgive what he did to me, my mom is a different story. I have prayed about it alot over the years, and I am OK. I had couseling for this issue for several years when I was in my twenties.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40915: Thank for that kind sentiment, Ro. You are something special.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40916: Y'all are sweet.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40917: Well I'm here Mil. Do ya'll realize that I've been talkin to 4 or 5 women for 3 hours. LOL!!! BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40918: As riveting as this conversation truly is, I've just got to go to bed. I sweated so much all day, and it ran in my eyes, they're really irritated, my vision is getting blurry, and I've got to get some sleep if I'm to go to church in the morning. Shalom! and Sugarplum says 10-4. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40919: IT'S SUNDAY! " This is the day the lord hath made"
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40920: Good, Millie. I am glad to hear that. Even though we forgive, how can we forget such things? Not possible. God alone can repair the damage.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40921: Goodnight, Ro!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40922: What a guy, BWB!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40923: So, what has your dear wife been doing all this time, BWB? My husband is sawing logs.

I really HAVE to go to bed now, I'll be bleary-eyed like Romeena in the morning. Goodnight All!

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40924: Wow, we have been here awhile. Any body still up?

Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40933: Who woulda thought, 40 years ago, tha TAGS would be bringing people together today....just amazing.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40934: Yes it was. I hate to see it wind down. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40935: I agree.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40936: BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40942: We must have similar dry senses of humor, BWB.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40943: Didn't Spot say he was going for the evening??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40948: Of course you didn't.....and she understood that.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40949: You are here on this board for a reason, right?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40950: I love and hate my job, I hate it only because of the way that the ex-con "PHEWS" treat me in front of other people. I love it because of every other aspect of it. Being a judge was my childhood dream, and it's finally a reality. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40951: We could all use a little more understanding of the other fella's point of view, right?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40952: Yes on reason. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40953: Come again on that one??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40954: Good for you, BWB. Gee, I sound silly saying this to a judge, but I'm living my dream too.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40955: I am here to have some body to talk to. My wife is at work, and I home alone. No kids, tragically.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40956: 40951....we get to see a different point of view, through you.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40957: Why do you feal silly talking to a judge???

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40960: So because of that you feal silly talking to a judge???

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40961: No , I feel silly about my dream......owning my own restaurant.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40966: I don't know if they'll live long enough to enjoy it.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40967: Am I rambling?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40968: But they DID it.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40969: It is really cool to watch kids's faces when they find out that I'm a judge. They look at me as if I were famous. I love children, but I'll never have any. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40970: no you're not.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40971: exactally. They went for their dream like I did, now we're all happy.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40972: I know that Judges make a lot of money, but as I'm sitting here in my silk pajama's, I just realized that I'm not that rich person inside, I'm a simple boy from the country. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40973: BWB, sounds like the subject of kids is a sore spot....you okay?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40974: I know, we are all special in God's eye's, though.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40975: Yeah Mrs.Barnwannabe can't. I wouldn't feel right adopting. I don't know why, I just wouldn't. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40976: I tend to spout off on the subject.....sorry

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40977: You are giving back, though, and that's what parenthood is.

Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40982: Sorry.....Kate and Bogey have the nooses on their necks....
MIl

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40983: Thank you.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40985: you there

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40986: ....movie's over.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40987: I'm still here!
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40988: Oh, Thank you alot!!! I love doing it. I love my parents, my wife, my job, I guess I've got it made, it just seems empty, you know what I mean???

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40989: You know, I think that what you focus on and think about in your life grows. So if you count your blessings, they multiply. You do have many blessings.
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40990: I put on a good face, sure. I'm glad I can talk to you. BWB

Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 40999: That's another blessing, she's not jealous at all. I look at other women just like any man, and she looks at other guys, but She and I both know that we wouldn't want anybody else. She knows that I've spent my night talking to women, and it doesn't bother her, cause she knows I wouldn't be un faithful.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41000: She is.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41035: Good morning, early birds. What sweet conversation went on last night! There's just nothing like good friends - we all need 'em.

I don't know what that box is, either, unless maybe Floyd is setting up the log-in thing. Notice the end of the line on top, right behind "Comments". It reads "idform". Just a guess.

Well, I'm off to church. Sugarplum says 10-4. I wish she could go with me. She doesn't snore nearly as loud as Gomer! --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41036: Hmm...How did we end up with 2 "Comments" boxes? I'm gonna have to look at this more closely when I get home. It was/isn't something *I* did on purpose.--Floyd

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41037: I think the extra box you guys saw may have been caused by two of you posting at exactly the same time. I'll have to make sure that I have that locked so it can't happen. I'll have to do that after I get home from this event.

By the way, it went great! The show was a blast! Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn) sang and Johnny Paul (Keith Thibodeaux) did a great routine. Y'all missed it but try and make plans to attend one of our future events.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41038: Good morning porch! Lucy from your MSG yesterday 40842 I actually don't watch much T.V. Yeah it sound's like I do, but I only watch one AGS episode in the morning, and then no T.V. for the day, and then at night an hour episode (you guy's know what I watch) and then right befour I go to bed one more 25 minute AGS episode.

Hey Floyd, Spot, Mil and BWB!

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41043: I get the impression there are a lot of church folks here. I am five hours ahead of EDT so about the time we go back to church tonight this place will probably liven up.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41044: Afternoon Porchesters. Hope all is well this Sunday afternoon. Back from church and just resting a bit. Good service today, saw slides of the youth's mission trip and several of the youth and chaperones shared their experiences. What a blessing to us all. My husband is working today so we are going to be lazy until time to go back to church. Since SPOT is off on vacation, I will
take care of dinner. Pork barbeque sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans and potato salad. Lemonade, tea or soft drinks. Dessert will be
watermellon. Ya'll come about 4 and we will play badmitton, or get up a game of softball. See you at 4pm. Big Maude

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41045: Good afternoon!!! How are all of ya'll??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41046: Hey Warren!!! BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41051: Good afternoon, I just wanted to see how things are going on the porch this Sunday. Is anyone going to watch the new western coming on tonight starring Robert Duvall? I think its called Broken Trail or something like that. I am going to watch it. Loved Lonesome Dove.

I stayed up too late last night! After I left the porch I had to watch the rest of African Queen. Pretty good flick. I would love to take a nap but have to attend a going-away party for some friends this afternoon.

Better go get ready (groan!).

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41054: I've never had that deep a conversation with anyone I've never met.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41055: BWB.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41056: Thanks, BWB, isn't it unusual to have such a rapport with someone right off? I think that's the best thing about this site. I'm not much of an internet person, and I don't "surf" much at all, but I found that Andy Griffith fans seem to be a special sort. I feel a connection with these people, something I don't get elsewhere. I may just be sappy and corny, but that's how I feel. These are real people. I love this place!

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41057: Hey guy's!

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41058: Hey Mill, how do you bounce back from one AGS site to another so much?

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41060: Afternoon Porch,
Well, my stepchildren are at the airport. They are flying standby thanks to a lovely patient of my husband's that gave us buddy passes. Its storming here so they didn't get on their original flight. Their Mother threw such a tantrum to everyone, including my answering machine. I refuse to talk to someone that irrational. Thank goodness for caller id and voicemail! Anyhow, their flight is supposed to get in at 10. Hubby's flight gets in at 7. I don't know if he's just gonna wait around the airport or have me come and get him to come home for awhile first. We're only 30 min. away.
I have mixed reactions about them coming. Its pretty common knowledge that my stepdaughter hates me. I'm just gonna treat her like a little sister and try not to have a chip on my shoulder like I did last year. SD said some really nasty lies and she said that my deceased son stunk and I just kept playing it over and over. I just thought I have to be perfect or she's going to tell more lies. Then, I resented her for having a miserable summer. Well, I'm not going to let a 10 year old girl get to me. I'll be my happy go lucky self and she can tell her Mom anything she wants. I really do not care. I do worry because SD is morbidly obese and I've recently lost 30 lbs, will she hold that against me. She's already jealous of Bryson for being little and cute. She's bigger than I am. Any suggestions if she brings it up?
I have the house cleaned, but I need to work on paperwork. Better get busy. I'll check back in later!
Blessings to you and yours,
~Lucy
Mil- We love you too!
