June 25, 2006 - Msg 41080: Hey Big Maude. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41081: BWB I'll chat. My pie is in the oven right now. What do ya wanna talk about BWB?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41082: Good afternoon, all. My, the porch is a great place these days. I love it! Lucy, honey, you've got a tiger by the tail, haven't you? You do realize that there's no way you can win, don't you, at least not for a few years. First of all, you're dealing with a pre-pubescent child, and a female at that. Yours or step-child, it's difficult at best. Second, you're everything good that her mother obviously is not, and perversely, she'll hate you for that. She wouldn't dare hate her mother, so she'll transfer it to you. Third, she hates herself (obesity at that age is awful, and it only gets worse), so she'll transfer that to you, too. You're definitely on the right track, though. Just be your cheerful self. Love her, but set limits and demand behavior from her that she can look back on and be proud of. The day will come when she'll appreciate you and what you try to do for her. In truth, deep down, she probably appreciates it now, but doesn't even know it herself, and surely can't show it. Also, remember that you only have her for a short time, and cannot expect to immediately undo what her nutcase mother has done during the rest of the year. God will bless you, dear, and so will the kid, one of these days.

It is hot, hot, hot! Five minutes outdoors and the sweat is running into my eyes (I skip right over perspiration and go straight to sweat), my shirt is soaked and my hair is dripping. A half hour at a time is all I can manage, and I have to give up and come in the house. When I start getting dizzy, it's time to quit. But dagnabbit, there's just so much to be done out there! Oh, Spring, how fondly I recall your cool days and pleasant breezes! Even my sun-loving petunias are about to faint and fall away, poor things.

Well, gotta go change laundry loads. I'm getting my suitcase packed today, leaving for Florida on Thursday and won't have any other time to pack. Fortunately, I don't take much out there, just shorts, jeans and t-shirts, and one nice outfit. That goes in one fairly small case which I check, and all I carry is the Plum and her carrier, and my cameras. I even put my handbag in my suitcase, with my wallet, checkbook, glucose meter and insulin in the zipper pocket on Sugar's carrier. It's an easy trip.

Later, friends. Sugarplum says 10-4. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41083: Hey Ro. Still here BWB?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41084: Yeah Warren, I'm here. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41085: I don't know Warren, how about TAGS. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41086: Sure. What's your favorite episode from Season 5? Me, their's alot of good one's on that season, but I think I like "Barney's Physical" and "Goober and the art of love" the best. How about you guy's?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41087: Hi, BWB and Warren. Wish I could stay around to chat, but got mucho to do. Well, drat! I have a huge elephant ear plant, growing in a plastic pot. It sits beside the pond to provide even a little bit of shade. The wind (hot wind, unfortunately) keeps blowing it over, and I see it has done it again. This time, I'm taking a piece of re-bar out there, gonna drive it into the dirt and straight out through the bottom of that pot. Then let's see it blow over! --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41088: Romeena, what part of Florida??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41089: Warren, mine is Barney's bloodhound. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41090: Is "Barney's Physical" the one where they were trying to make the height and weight limits? If so, then I have a question. Why didn't Andy just have Barney drink all the water he could hold just before the weigh-in? They only needed to add a couple of pounds, and a half-gallon weighs nearly five pounds. Of course, then there'd have been no story. Oh, yeah, guess that's the reason. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41091: Hey porch, anyone know if "Act Like Somebody : Special moment's of parenting" is a good father's day gift? Is it worth the price of $13.20? I know im a little late for father's day but it just became availible through Amazon Canada.

Romeena, have a wondefull trip! How long you going?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41092: Ro, what part of FL.??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41093: Warren, yes it is. My cousin gave it to her father this year. Coincidentally, they're both in my chapter. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41094: Mt. Dora, BWB. It's just north of Orlando, about 25 miles. Lovely little town, very quaint, lots of pokey little shops and neat restaurants. Close enough to Orlando to run in when you need to, but far enough out to have a very relaxed, hometown feel to it. My son is a homebuilder in the area, builds lovely homes in the upscale market. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41095: Yeah that's the one Romeena. Do you have any of the season's on D.V.D.? I reccomend them if you don't.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41096: Thank's BWB!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41097: Still here Ro? It's been nice chatting with ya!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41098: I'll be gone twelve days, Warren. I usually plan to stay over two weekends. My DIL is the COO of a hospital there, and I insist that she not take her vacation time to accommodate me, so we try to have our two weekends together. I love my DIL like she was mine, and we have a great relationship. Good friends. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41099: Romeena, reson for me asking, is I live about 70 miles outside of Pensacola, FL. I hold my chapter meetings in P-Cola. I'm originally from there. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41100: Yes Romeena, if you don't have the seasons on D.V.D, you should really get them. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41101: You going be stopping by the porch while your gone Romeena?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41102: Oh, yes, Warren, I have all of them through #6. I've also ordered the first three for my son, so I'll be able to watch them with him while I'm out there. My DIL loves them, too - she watches them while she does her workout. She has one of those home gyms, and uses it regularly. She usually goes to bed early, gets up about 5:30, but my son and I stay up late and watch TAGS together. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41103: Warren, We still talking about TAGS??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41104: Ro, I love TAGS almost as much as I love my wife.LOL!!! BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41105: Yep, I'll probably drop in. My son and DIL make their computers available to me when I'm there, and I usually visit the porch a few times. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41106: I hope you can drop b. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41107: that's *BY*. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41108: You a fan of the color episode's BWB and Romeena?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41109: Warren, RO??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41110: I really like B&W better. I do like some of the colored eps. pretty good. Like the one where Aunt Bee learned to drive, or tryed to. LOL!!!
Barnwannabe.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41111: Hello??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41112: Hello??? LOL!!! BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41113: Romeena what do you think? BWB do you have season 6 on D.V.D.?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41114: Warren, no, not yet.BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41115: Warren, I've been putting it off, because Barn won't be on there. He was my fav. I guess I've got to get over it, or miss the last three seasons. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41116: You gonna get it? I don't care just wondering.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41117: Oh sorry BWB! Didnt see MSG 41115! Ya know Barney guest star's twise in season six and season seven and once in season 8. And Warren is awsome man!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41118: Did anyone notice in an episode in season 1 where Barney wasn't wearing a gun belt, or hat??? It was the one where Oh, what's his name...James Best was playing the guitar when that band came to town...Barn & Andy had walked over to meet them, and barney didn't have his gun, nor hat on. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41119: Yes Warren, I am. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41120: Warren, you there??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41121: WARREN???????????????????? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41122: Never noticed BWB. Season 1 might be my favorite season. Yeah Barney and Andy havent hit their powerfull comedic chemistry yet, and Gomer and Goober haven't arrived in Mayberry yet, but season 1 feel's very warm and sunny and best describe's the town of Mayberry.

I love the scene's in the drugstore with Barney and Andy getting a bottle of pop or Aunt Bee and her gossipers gossiping.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41123: Im here BWB! Did you read MSG 41122?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41124: Warren, I will admit that I like the B&W eps best, but I'm warming up to the color eps as well. One of my favorites is where your namesake thinks he has ESP, and just warts Andy and Helen to no end about a "warning" he received. I like Aunt Bee's flying lessons, too. If it's TAGS, it's good, no matter what season. Some are just a bit better than others, that's all. --Romeena

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41125: I agree Romeena. Barney was my fav. character, but I just about like warren as much as I do Barn. I watch the colored eps. on our local station. they've been playing them for about 7 or 8 months now, and they've just started playing the colored ones. I love Aunt Bee learns to drive. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41126: Yes I did Warren. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41127: I totally agree Romeena! The B&W episode's of TAGS will alway's be the classic's and the funniest, but without the Color season's the show wouldn't be the same. Ya know what I mean?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41128: Yeah BWB Barney alway's will be the best. Don Knotts has a special place in my heart as Barney Fife.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41129: Hey, sorry, I had to say bye to my wife. She's going to work. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41130: At this time? What are her hour's?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41131: She's a dispatcher, and they vary from week to week. She understood that when she started. She get's a weekly schedule. Tonight, it's 7 to 1. It will be mid-day tomorrow. (12 to 6) BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41132: Warren, you here??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41133: Hello??? BWB

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41139: I'll be back and forth between comercials. So Don't leave. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41140: Yeah I saw BWB. I don't get T.V. land over here. Are we, the only rocker's on the porch right now?

Just orderd this cool looking Bonanza book. It's called Bonanza : A complete refference guide. It should be here in 4-6 week's. The review's on it are bad, but it has everything I need in a Bonanza book so I don't care. Some review's are good though.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41141: Warren, We are the only rockers of about 10 minutes ago when I called out for anybody else. The book sounds cool. Millie and I talked until 1:30 last night on here, and for about the last hour and a half, we were the only ones. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41142: Hey, guys, I'm back....are y'all still rockin'?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41143: BWB, it was 3;30 here when I got off...

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41152: Is anyone here?
Millie

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41153: Warren, how did your pie turn out?
Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41154: Oh. I was about to say, we're only one time zone away. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41155: Yeah Warren, was it good???BWB I'll talk with you Mil. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41156: Mil, you here??? BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41157: Millie, that pie was fantastiqe! Im not just being nice either! Me and my girlfeind loved it! Even better then the Peach Dumplins!

Anyone wanna chat AGS style?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41158: Good, bwb. So, wifey's gone to work....Are you gonna surprise her when she gets home by cleaning the bathrooms and the kitchen?

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41160: Warren thanks for the compliment on my pie....it's an old family recipe. Someday make it to take to a family dinner or something....it seems hard, but it wasn't, was it? People always love it. Sells out every time at the restaurant.

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41186: BWB, you got an Andyism for us?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41187: Hang on just a minute, I gotta call Mrs.Barnwannabe.
BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41188: Yes, MSG 41184. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41189: If those of you who are present will excuse me for a minute while I write something to some of those who aren't present....

Lucy, please keep checking in and let us know how things are going with you. I hope it is easier than you fear.

MDC, thank you for your prayers for Sean. He is doing better the last couple of days but I am seeing more behavior problems (trying to argue, whining, fighting with his sister) since we are weaning the Paxil..its been tough on Mamma, for sure. I finally blew my stack on the way to church this morning (don't you just hate that?!). My kids are getting into this very annoying habit of starting in about the air conditioner the second we get in the car. Granted, it is about 200 degrees in there when you first get in (feels like it), but when we got in to go to church, the second we shut the door, I hear, "Mom, turn on the air conditioner! I am dyin' of heat!", then before we are out of the drive way, the other starts whining, "Mom, turn it down, its too cold" and then the fight is on between the kids. It drives me completely nuts. I even carry a blanket in the car in the summer so that which ever kids is cold, he can cover up. Even at that, they still manage to whine and fight about it.

I'm a bit stressed tonight over the situation I told you about concerning the little girl and the teen-aged boy. Now the parents of the boy are saying that they talked to the boy and he denied everything and they believe him. Now what? A trial? I just don't know what to think. I am sure it was this boy who did it, there is absolutely no question about it. If you all were parents and you heard something like that about your son, would you automatically take his word that he was innocent and just forget about it? I am afraid the boy is never going to get the help he needs because the parents are in denial. Since the authorities are involved, though, will they require that he be evaluated by a proffesional? Do you happen to know, BWB?

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41190: She didn't answer, must be busy. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41191: Boo, Mill, you guy's rocking? What time is it where you live BWB?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41193: Boo, tell me about the whole situation again, and I might be able to tell you. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41194: Oh sorry Warren, I didn't answer you before. Yes, I own seasons 1-4 and would enjoy watching them more but its kind of hard right now. You will understand when you have children of your own, Honey.

Boo

Mil

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41202: BWB and Warren, you may recall that about 2 weeks ago I mentioned that we found out that my best friend's little 6 yr old was molested by a 15 year old boy. I don't want to get into the awful details but the parents of the boy were confronted and seemed to believe it but now they are saying that the boy is denying it and they believe him. I am wondering what Child Protective Services will do. The mother of the child who was violated is starting to get cold feet because she doesn't want her little girl to be subjected to an examination and having to testify and I am afraid she will try to recant her story to avoid that. I think, though, that since CPS is involved they will have to investigate it. Not sure what will happen now.

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41203: I guess Boo didn't wanna tell me. LOL!!! Here's one for you Mil, Warren, Boo... "Don't, don't do that Ollie, don't mess with the siren Ollie."BWB

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41219: Wish I had some of the coconut pie right now.
Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41220: Boo, according to the state's laws, and the judge rulings, he could be tryed as an adult. If the mother of the girl was negligent on pertecting her daughter, CPS could take her away, if the boy's mother knew that he was a risk, he could be taken from her. There should be a trial, civil, or jury, and if there is not, that means that they setteled outside of court(basically the girl's mother backed down, which should not happen). Try to talk her into going to court, if you were to get a fair judge, He/She might despense some real justice, and lock him up for life. I hate to see him get by with it. Take it from a judge without his robe on, tell her repeatedly not to settle until he's had a trial. BWB

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41221: Hey Mil, Warren, and Boo. Now that I've answered that question, let's talk TAGS!!! BWB

Boo

June 25, 2006 - Msg 41234: Yes. If you get a harsh judge/jury, it could life. If he is prooved mentally incompitent(so retated he didn't know what he was doing to her) He will be put into a mental institution with a small chance of getting out. Not everything is all that bad. After all he rapped her. I'm not saying that I'd put him away for life, I'd give him benefit of the doubt, provided the evidense was in order. BWB
