July 16, 2006 - Msg 42892: Man, leave it to me to start a Moulage. I wouldn't blame you guys if you voted me off the porch!

So sorry about Sean, Millie. Try not to panick, he is young and this I'm sure this is the first time he has done something like this. It shouldn't go too hard on him but you are right to want him to learn from the consequences.

Well, maybe I can stop in for a minute at Sarah's. Still have so much to do!

By the way, thanks for the opinions and explainations. The reason I ask is because I respect your opinions alot.

July 16, 2006 - Msg 42895: Hi, all. I'm back, and promise to keep my opinions to myself, at least tonight. Went to eat catfish with a friend, at a restaurant called Razzoo's. It's Cajun style food, very good. Then we came home and watched TAGS DVDs. Very pleasant evening. She just left, now I'm going to watch Britcoms.

Lucy, be patient on that trip. It's gonna be hard. If Michaela is telling lies about your dad, just be sure you don't leave her alone with him for one minute, to remove any opportunity for her to do more of the same. Girls don't realize how destructive those lies can be, they're just trying to get some attention.

Millie, bless your little heart. This is about all you needed. I can only imagine how your heart must be breaking right now. What was Sean thinking? I'll bet he's wondering that right about now, too. Teenagers! You'd think their brain was in a jar somewhere, until they're about 25. Prayers for you, honey, and for Sean as well.

Barnwannabe.

July 16, 2006 - Msg 42898: Yes Ro's statement ("You'd think their brain was in a jar somewhere") is well-put! ha Who can figure them out?

Somehow I missed your last post Lucy. Sorry for the problems you are facing. Prayers for a safe trip (if you decide to go). Hang in there, you are such a sweet person and always so willing to help! Sorry your Hubby made fun of you today. I know that doesn't feel good even if they are kidding. Most men don't understand how that can hurt a woman. Most of us have so darned many insecurities from past hurts that it doesn't take much to make us feel bad.

Ro, I wanted to ask you about the Israel/Islam issue. I knew the history about the ever-present conflict between the decendants of Abraham's sons but I didn't remember that God told the Israelites to destroy the descendants of Ishmael. Where they called the Amalakites? Just curious about that...

Also been meaning to ask you; your friend that you go to eat and watch TAGS DVD's with, is she a huge TAGS fan, too, and if so, why doesn't she visit the porch?

Just took some Melatonin to see if I would be able to sleep tonight. Funny how when you are suffering from insomnia, it's like you become afraid of the bed...the more you think about trying to fall asleep, the harder it is. Crazy! Wish counting sheep worked. It's funny because I am not having anxious thoughts that keep me awake, but as I lay there awake I am thinking good thoughts and because my mind is so wide-awake I feel energized or something. I have a feeling the pre-menopause thing is not for cowards...I actually had a couple of night sweats this month and am beginning to retain water! Yikes! Can anyone relate?

Better try to get some sleep before the kids are up in the morning...Goodnight,

Boo

July 17, 2006 - Msg 42899: Wow Millie, I can imagine the tension at your house right now because of this thing with Sean. These troubles can permeate a house. Prayers for you and your family, and I hope Sean learns his lesson and is "scared straight" after this but that he is given another chance. Kids can do stupid things.

Well, about one more week and we'll be moving. I still don't know how we are going to close on both houses on the same day AND move all the stuff to the new home, as I am sure the new owner of our house here will want to be moving in too that day. Oy! :)

Been watching the coverage of WWIII on the news(I see you all have been watching too), and I can only take so much of that, so I turned over to TVLand and, ...no, sorry it wasn't TAGS, but Leave It To Beaver was on(and still is, actually). It's just nice to have those shows to look back on to remind us of better, simpler days. Thank God for TVLand. Where we can escape our turbulent times, at least for a little bit.

Have a nice, peaceful night everyone.(and that should go for all around the world)

July 17, 2006 - Msg 42904: Good morning all - getting ready to take the last of the goats in for vet. checks and the poster is winding down too. The fair is next week - we live in a simpler time here and that the fair in the county is the BIG news. The town we live near has only a flashing light, the town that the fair is in has only one stop light. Told you it was simple. . .wish you all could have this kind of town.
It will be hot here today as well - but cooler temps are coming for Friday (the 80's).

Thank you for all of the prayers - my situation is not resolved but today I seem to have peace about it. Please continue to pray for me - and that maybe, just maybe it will resolve soonly. I wish I could share the nature of it but I cannot. Thank you again - this porch is just a God send!

Millie-I feel a bit foolish spouting off about all of that nonsense in the Middle East and not even addressing your prayer request for your son Sean. Prayers for you and Sean, I know it sounds trite but hang in there and keep moving forward, one foot in front of the other. I agree with Sterling's Msg 42899.

Boo-I also missed your Msg 42833, goodness that was a bit rough. I don't know what to say to that but your idea did sound devilishly fantastic.

Poor Horatio-You're exactly correct regarding North Korea during the previous US Administration every time NK acted up they were rewarded. It's kind of like feeding a wild animal, everything's fine as long as you've got something to give it to stop it from biting you.

Romeena-Love your cure for the above mentioned problem.

Mavis-You're right, I didn't mean to "hog" Romeena all to myself.

Auh2o, well, the problem with my devilish idea is that I realized something that after that post; I remembered that days before that Hubby and I were remembering a Christmas party we attended back when I was in my 20's. It was a really nice fling, one of those where you dress up and dance the night away. Well, I told him that about a week after the party, someone brought some pictures from the party to work and there was one of me in my black dress. One of the doctors held it up and said, "That's what I want for Christmas". Well, now that I remember that I told him that, I am realizing that he was only referring to that story and was paying me a compliment. Now I really wish I hadn't thrown that picture at him! Besides, I don't even think I have a picture of him with hair. He lost his in his mid-twenties...poor guy! ha...OK, that's my novel for the day....lots of things to do today!

July 17, 2006 - Msg 42915: Anyone wanting a bit of roasting ears on the barbie? Maybe a billy burger to go with it? Don't shy away. . .

Boo - we love our mini donkey. . .he is a big pet. Because he wasn't raised around the goats - he does not have a keen attraction to them, rather - he hates them. I would go with a mini donkey rather than a standard size, esp. if you aren't buying them for anything more than a pet.

Someone asked about our dog and the chickens (we've got to save the chickens!) He stays penned or tied most of the time. Believe me - he gets plenty of attention! He only bothers the chickens or the kittens if we are out there - like to show us he is king. If we are watching from afar, the chickens and the kittens eat out of his bowl and he lets them with no problem.

To Spot Msg 42903, how long is your boat? Is it sail or power? Does it have an outboard or inboard engine?
To homemaker Msg 42904, I will continue to pray for a resolution to your situation. But please read this joke first before continuing with my message.
I believe God sends us help in different forms. It's quite possible that He has sent one of us here to offer you a more concrete solution if we only knew more of the details of your problem. But if you still prefer to keep it private and rely upon prayer, then so be it.
To Boo Msg 42909, I looked up Melatonin at familydoctor.org and discovered something you should know about. "Natural melatonin is made from the pineal gland of animals. This form could be contaminated with a virus and is not recommended. The synthetic form of melatonin does not have this risk. If you are not sure if your melatonin is natural or synthetic, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking it."
To TOM Msg 42912, I think you need an answering machine to answer your telephone calls. I do it. This way, you can only answer the ones that you want and ignore the problem calls.

I have never been so emotionally and spiritually moved by a television program before. The writing is so unique, the songs are so uplifting, and the messages are so inspirational. I'm always in tears by the end of the show. It appears in reruns on many cable systems. It also is available on DVD.

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42929: Mornin' Y'all. Friends,I'm here asking for prayers. Yesterday I come home from work to find out that my mom,my sister and her husband are about to put restraining orders on me & my husband because they have the notion that we're going to damage their cars or burn the house down, just because we don't agree with them kicking my mom out into a trailer and they moving in the house! It's crazy! My sister gets in my face, calls me a word that rhymes with "witch" and sneers that mom NEVER wants to see me again! I told the policeman that I would stay off of this property, but I wanted to hear it directly from my mother's mouth. He wouldn't let me go in to speak with her.
We never had a policeman in my mom's yard in all the years she's lived there. Now,all of this. It is so sad.
Y'all just pray for me. I have totally lost my mother.
Thanks,and I love you all.

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42930: Good morning everyone! I haven't had a chance to go back and read all the stuff I've missed, but I wanted to check in quickly and let you all know that you are unofficial aunts, uncles and cousins...

Veda Marie was born Monday morning at 2:12 a.m. EST weighing 6 pounds, 8 ounces and 19.5 inches long. She has a full head of black hair, like her sister and brother did. Mom and daughter are doing very well. Her sister, Nora, especially, is very excited.

The anticipation took awhile, but hard labor took about five minutes. The doctor told us that if we decide to have another, we may want to camp out at the hospital. The hospital staff was great. I still wish ROMEENA and BOO were there!

They will be discharged tomorrow, so until then it will be a little crazy for me. I will be checking in at work perhaps later today, then again on Friday, I'll have to talk to y'all then.

Thanks for all your prayers!

You ask for our prayers, but what you really need is professional legal help.
You can first visit FreeAdvice, click on FAMILY LAW, and post a brief description of your situation. You will have to register for this free legal advice.
If you can't afford in-person legal help, then contact the Legal Aid Society for your state.
If you can afford in-person legal help, contact a family law lawyer and ask for a free consultation.
I am no lawyer. However, from what I know about restraining orders, when first issued, it will be a temporary order. Read that document because a hearing will be scheduled where both sides can present their cases in a court. Based upon the testimony and other evidence presented during the hearing, the judge will then determine if a permanent restraining order will be issued or not. Please obtain professional legal help BEFORE this hearing. Ask a lawyer if you need to have your mother subpoenaed to ensure her presence at this hearing so that you can find out how she really feels.
To TOM Msg 42920, I'm sad to hear that your television is broken. Look around your house to find things that you can sell to get enough money to buy another television. If you have trouble finding buyers, try selling your stuff to a pawn shop.
To Barnwannbe Msg 42927, regarding Frappr, notice the word "BETA" under the Frappr name when you visit there. When programmers create a program, they try to fix all problems during the design stage. But sometimes, problems only appear under certain conditions. And unfortunately, most programmers don't have the time or can't think of all of these conditions. So they release their program as BETA to be used by users in order to identify these undetected conditions so that they can be fixed. But unless these "bugs" are reported to the programmers, they won't get fixed. So when you visit Frappr, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on CONTACT FRAPPR, on the next page, in the top small message box, click on the arrow and select I HAVE A BUG REPORT. Then in the middle larger message box, report the bugs you have identified. Then if you want a personal reply, include your email address in the small lower message box.

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42939: Hey everyone. I stopped into work to tie up a couple fo loose ends and have had a minute to at least skim the archives. I know I missed a bunch of stuff, though.

Thank you so much for all your well-wishes. Please continue with your prayers that all will remain well so my big and littlest sweeties can come home tomorrow as planned.

HORATIO: You asked about the nightly prayer time. No, we're not meeting anywhere other than spiritually. Some of us just thought it would be nice to set aside a time each day to pray when we know others would be also. So, we join together in prayer each night at 8:55 p.m. EST (just before TVLand plays TAGS). No matter how far apart we are, we are together in prayer.

POSSUM: HORATIO is correct about the order; I worked as a civil clerk for several years. Anyone can get one. The validity and contionuancy of the temporary order depends on the outcome of the hearing, where both sides may be heard. Check your paperwork today, though; such hearing generally are set for a few days after the temporary order is issued. Go to court and remember that judges hear things like this all the time and can see b.s. as well as the next guy. I also agree that you need sound legal advice. I'm so sorry that your family is treating you this way.

MILLIE: I pray that you are feeling better, and that things work out for your family. So sorry to hear about what happened to Sean, but better to learn a hard lesson now than a harder one later, or worse, never learn one at all.

LUCY: I read that something is wrong, but somehow missed what. Prayers for whatever is ailing you physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

TOM: Sorry about your tv. If it wasn't for TAGS, I'd say that maybe we all should just chuck our tvs, too!

BOO: How's SEAN? Before you try that kava, check into it. Some people swear by it, but others call it dangerous. I guess kinda like everything else from fish to milk, huh?

HM: Are things looking up? If not, prayers continue; if so, prayers still continue.

ROMEENA: Up on the soapbox he goes...) First, I agree with AUH2O that we should be able to politely discuss anything amongst friends. I agree with most of what you said a few days ago about Islam (great moulage, BOO!), except one important point. I was a history and religion major in college, and, yes, we were taught that the God of the Jews and the Christians is also the god of the Moslems, Allah. However, this is not true in any practical sense. Let me explain. What if I were to say, "Do you know Bob Smith?" and you said, "Sure, I know Bob, I've known him well for years. He's a great guy--smart, honest to a fault, never petty, would do anything for you, kind, loyal, gentle, loving--just the world's greatest guy. Everyone that I know says so." And what if I were to answer, "Huh? I know Bob, too. He's mean, nasty, would spit on you as soon as look at you, dishonest, untrustworthy, violent, a killer even--the worst guy I know." Could we both be right about the guy? Of course not. They could not describe the same person. So too with God and Allah. The God of the Christian Bible is not the Allah of the Koran. Some may consider it otherwise, but there is no resemblance in my opinion. For all practical purposes, we worship two different gods.

I am a respecter of personal choices. I believe what I do, but respect the choices of others not to believe as I. My Bible says that there is one way to Heaven, through Christ. If that's true, and I believe that it is, no matter what you call yourself--Jew, Moslem, Buddhist, Wiccan, agnostic, athiest, and even Christian--it is meaningless unless you know Him.

Well, that's my two-cents worth.

I'll try and check in later. Thanks again for all your prayers and kind words. You are special people, indeed!

Possum- Yes, please do what PH suggested, and we'll back you with prayer. Please look at this as NOT losing your mother. I know that ole Buckeye would have some great suggestions as well.
I look on the album and see "loving and caring" and certainly not your sister's description! We are all with you!
ME-THEY- Congratulations!! I bet you and Barney swapped many stories waiting on this one! ha
Beautiful name. Glad all are doing well.
BWB- I think you are better off without that waitress, but it must be tough to do it all. Hang in there, it will be better in the long run. Pray you get a really good one.
BOO- you scard me with giving me a newborn! A real "boo" from you! ha Glad you caught that! (:
Any one seen GOOBER lately?
Have a good day!

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42941: Thanks a lot PH!!!

I'm glad that You gave me that in lay person terms!!!LOL!!!

Hey to all!!!

I'll be going back home in a little while. I was so worked that my girlfriend sent me to my TAGS fan club meeting place to spend the night.

I stayed last night, and most of the day, and a little while ago, I went to Walmart and picked up TAGS season 6. I like it, but there's one thing missing...BARN!!! LOL!!!

I am enjoying myself, but I'm constantly worried about the Diner, and the bar.

My cousins said that they were gonna take care of it, and when I called, they said that it was okay, but I'm still worried. I can't wait til I get back up there, to run things for myself. I don't mean to be selfish, but I have my own system of running things, and I hope that it is running good without me.

How's everyone doin'??? All good I hope!!!

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42951: Please continue the prayers - I talked with someone today and things may look brighter tomorrow for my situation. I had a real peace about all of it today but you know how the devil is - he likes to creep in there and put doubt and fear in your path.

The boys and I are discussing about making some Christian t-shirts. We are thinking of calling them R.E.B.E.L. -wear. That means "Really Excited 'Bout Eternal Life. They are wanting me to go through with it and least for them. Still working on the logo but I think it might happen.

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42955: Wow! On my way to work, but gotta get a few things down! First, congratulations to Me-They and his lady wife on the birth of Miss Veda Marie. What a sweet name! Would love to see her! Also, we are actualy in complete agreement regarding God vs Allah. In the literal sense, both names refer to the same all-powerful, creator of the universe. The Muslims, however, have perverted and distorted their view of him until one can no longer recognize him. I believe it began with the self-appointed "prophet", Mohammed, and he shaped the view of the people into what he wanted it to be, to justify his teachings of murder and mayhem against anything and anyone who is not Muslim, i.e., an "infidel". So, the Muslims talk about Allah, but they do not know him, only the false belief that has been instilled in them.

Boo, I'm not ignoring the question you asked above, just need time to get some references together.

Possum, listen to Poor Horatio. He has given you excellent advice. I'd add one more thing. When you do appear in court, DO NOT allow anything that anyone says to upset you or arouse your anger. Keep your cool, at all costs. Keep your voice soft, your posture open and relaxed, and do not allow anger to show in your face. Answer any questions promptly and gently, and avoid accusations as much as possible. State that you do not understand where your family's accusations are coming from, and quietly ask them to explain. Above all, do have a lawyer with you. DO NOT allow them to make you angry. That's when you'll do or say something that can be used against you.

Well, gotta run to work. Tom, hang in there, buddy. Check out the pawnshops and thrift stores, and garage sales. Often you can find some good buys there. I once bought a refrigerator for $50 at a garage sale, that we used for 20 years!

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42967: Evening Porch. I promised a run down on my day yesterday, here it is: first off, I live in a mobile home that is set on a full, finished basement, next it was 100 degrees on my front porch yesterday & my thermometer is in the SHADE! Next, the power went out for almost 2 hours! I was NOT happy, it was 100 inside this place within 10 minutes! No lights, no water, & most importantly for me & my 4 legged crew, no A/C! When the power came on about an hour into the ordeal, I filled the sinks with cold water & put a few towels in there to soak, in case the dogs started suffering signs of heat stroke. Within 15 minutes of coming back on, it was out again, I emptied all my ice trays into water bowls & the sink & finally ended up taking the furkids to the Blazer & running the A/C in there until the power came back on. Wasted gas, but no one suffered heat stroke. In the midst of all that, Cissy, the 5 pound Chihuahua was stung by a yellow jacket! Now mind you, she was already stressed from the heat & now she is even more stressed from the bee sting. She is ok, I think it must have just barely gotten her, no stinger in there anywhere. I was so ready for bed last night! So, there ya go, that's my story & I'm stickin to it.

Hey Folks

Me-They-Congratulations Buddy! Great news. As for your recent post concerning God and his relationship to the Christian and Moslems faiths, I couldn't agree more. Simply because a religion (read Islam) states something that statement does not make it so. I cannot access the achieves at the moment but as I recall, Romeena, I believe, was just stating what Moslems claim. I could be wrong, my powers of recall have failed me before.

Boo- I guess it's a good thing you put the breaks on that thought in Msg42833, so much for devilish ideas.

Possum-Just as the Rev stated, praying as I write this.

MDC-What's the scoop with the "dual serial killers" in your neck-of-the-woods?

Rev-Are you gonna make another lobster run anytime soon? Also, I saw another church sign today that may interest ya, "To here what He is saying turn down your volume."

God Bless,

July 18, 2006 - Msg 42969: Howdy folks, wanted to check in and tell ya'll that I am heading off for New Mexico in the morning so I will be gone through Sunday. Would appreciate your prayers for a safe and sane trip!

Me-They, Sean is doing pretty well. I still have him on 5mg of the Paxil because he was having such a tough time of it when we stopped it completely. I thought I would wait until after the trip to try it again. Thanks for asking, I want you to know I consider it a real comfort to know you are there and can relate and share some wisdom on Sean's anxiety issues. Thanks a million. PS-I agree with you completely in your above post. Jesus IS the way.

Boo... prayers for your safe trip.

Guys after Friday I will be in an area that I may not be able to get service. (Maybe I can this Saturday and Sunday.) I will be in northwestern Maine next Monday thru Sunday and it is very remote. You can barely get phone service.

Well better get to bed. You all have a great nights sleep. Say your prayers!

I'm from Alabama, but in Ireland.

Speaking of Ireland - we are having record high temps here. 30C (85F) is very rare here the last few times was 1976, 1984, and 1995. We broke 30 yesterday and could very well again today. I have a thermometer in my back garden and it read 41C in the sun yesterday. That is well over 100F! No one here has A/C so we actually had to go out and buy fans!

Trust all are well here.
