March 29, 2017 - Msg 107134: BOO--My prayers are most certainly for you and yours! Such trials are all part of the deal. When I was in excruciating pain about two weeks after surgery, I cried out to God in some pretty strong terms, but then I thought of Job, and I thought of today's Iraqi Christians at the hands of Isis,
and i suddenly changed my tune. I even asked if He was really there or not, but I think that was mostly the hydrocodone talking. Then God led me to that song, "God of the mountain is still God in the valley..." So all i can say
is hang in there and keep the faith.
'Dear Jesus Christ of Nazareth, please take Julie into your loving arms and let her feel your loving embrace. Touch her with your infinite goodness, and touch
her kids and husband also. Thank you Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen'

March 29, 2017 - Msg 107135: Good Wednesday morning all.

Sure am happy spring is here. The next month or two is going to be iffy with flooding concerns though, as the melt-off in the mountains kicks in.

Boo, I'm not sure what you have going on, but it sounds serious. For sure you and your family are in our prayers Dear. Just remember there is no problem to big for Him to take on. Put your faith and trust in the Lord, and He will see you through it.

Romeena, don't overdo it. It sounds like you are plenty busy for sure.

John, I know what you mean about having to mow your lawn twice. Especially this time of year when it is so wet and so cool. The grass loves those conditions and grows pretty fast. That reminds me, I need to pull my blades off still and sharpen them. I better do that tonight when I get home.

Here is a little riddle for you.
Question: What do you call an arrogant criminal falling down a flight of stairs?
Answer: A condescending con, descending. :)

March 29, 2017 - Msg 107137: Good morning porch family. thought I would check in before my work day begins.

a cool morning but sunshine and warming temps are promised for the afternoon.

been busy at work and at home so I have not been checking in as often. I have read back thru the archives a bit tho.

prayers for Boo and her situation. Remember God has got this and will carry you through.

Romeena is certainly right, seems like everyone has their share of "stuff" and it is overwhelming.

Continue to remember Mr. Maude and his job situation. Companies and their corporate stuff is hard on the little people who actually keep the
wheels and cogs moving. Seems like the people who come up with all the corporate nonsense have little or no idea what actually doing the job is like. well, thats my 2 cents anyway.

My Beth had a job interview yesterday with Lifeway book store. We are keeping our fingers crossed and prayers going that she will get the job. She has looked for and applied for many jobs since graduating college. Everyone company wants her to have "experience" in the area she applies for but if she can not get a job then she can not get experience. again my 2 cents worth.

Guess I should go and get to work and stop my whining and ranting.

Everyone have a blessed day\and prayers for everyone.

Big Maude

March 29, 2017 - Msg 107138: Thank you to all of you for your prayers and encouragement, as always; I never take it for granted and it means so much. Raising kids can be some treacherous ground, as you all know! I am feeling better today and have the assurance that God is, indeed in control.

Saying a prayer for Beth and her job situation!

BIg Maude, good to see you again. We have some Lifeway Christian bookstores here that i have been in. Very nice. Prayers for her to get the job and also some 'perience! :)
ASA--I need to take my mower in for yearly service. I used to do it, but just too hard now as i get older...oil, filter, plug, sharpen blade, and adjust drive wheels. (It's a self-propelled, not a rider.)
Have a blessed day,

March 29, 2017 - Msg 107140: Good afternoon, folks.

Maude - You ain't a kiddin' about overwhelming! As I sit and write you all now, I have pulled a muscle in my left shoulder and my entire left shoulder and shoulder blade is buzzing and tingling like it's asleep. Ouch! My best to Mr. Maude and Beth. Sometimes the work world doesn't know which end is up and the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. BELIEVE me, I know! I have had some work experience that you all probably wouldnt believe if I told you!

MDC - My sympathies to your sinuses! I have the bad allergies too and I get SO upset when they "tickle" me way down in my nostrils. I get right to the very point of sneezing and I won't sneeze. Grrrr!

Boo - Grab on with a bulldog grip and don't let go!

Asa - I hate having to catch my lawn. But that's life. Through and through. I cant wait to try my new mower, but then it's in for some WORK as soon as it's rolled off the truck! Post haste!

Better go, have errands to run before weather sets in! These storms and rains in the Midwest are shifting like crazy! I have seen the forecast change THREE times in about two hours! Some of it calling for severe storms with large hail and damaging winds!
Y'all take care! Hey to SPOT, TOM, G-F, Sterling and the rest of you wanting to fight Ed Sawyer!

Well I'm done for the day at work. Staff meeting tomorrow in the big City. That should take care of Thursday. Then a few more back flows to test on Friday, weather allowing. It is supposed to rain so it may get put off till next week.

March 29, 2017 - Msg 107143: Good afternoon, porch. Just got home, and I'm pooped! A few years ago, today would have seemed like a vacation, but as I said, that was a few years ago! Today it felt like a very full day. Taught ESL class this morning, went to lunch with friends, kept a doctor's appointment, went to the post office and mailed a package, went to the bank and made a deposit, then stopped by the garden center and bought a few things. I'm home now, fixin' to make a big glass of iced tea and curl up with a snuggly puppy in my lap, and just not move for about an hour. I know, it doesn't sound like much, but it was more standing and walking than I usually do. I have GOT to lose some weight. I know perfectly well that a lot of my problems would disappear, or at least improve considerably, if there was less of me to drag around. I have a very light frame, small bones, and now old muscles. I'm just not built to carry this much weight. Got to talk to Johnny Paul about this. Maybe if I started chewing tar?

John Masters, I've had some wild work experiences too. Have you ever been bitten while on the job - by a human? (At least I think she was!)

Well, I'm heading for my chair. Blessings, friends! --Romeena

March 29, 2017 - Msg 107144: Romeena - No, cant say that. But I have been told to ignore fire safety laws to get more stock in a warehouse. Piling heavy boxes all the way up to almost TOUCHING the flourescent (sp) lights. The fire inspector mad a surprise visit once and we, in the warehouse, could here the inspector giving it to our boss behind CLOSED doors!
I have worked at THREE places that are no longer in business. I mean no longer on the planet! Gone!
I was fired / released from a stock job at JCPenney's in Kansas City for sitting down to figure out stock in a stock room. Considering two things...a) the stock had to be ON the shelves and NOT on the floor and b) they over ordered and there was NO place to put the extra stock! So I was trying to figure out how to put stock up where there was no place to put stock! Someone must have saw me and reported me not knowing what I was really doing.
I even applied for a job in a toy company warehouse and they told me they liked my application and would hear from them in two weeks when they would schedule hiring. I waited three weeks and back there.....just to find the company was gone and all that was left was an empty building.

Yeesh!

March 30, 2017 - Msg 107149: Good afternoon, folks!

Recovering after a bad day with my father. I was in my kitchen when I heard three loud slams on the other side of the wall, which is my Dad's bathroom, I went racing in to find...well...he didnt make the toilet. So a shower, thorough cleaning and sanitizing was in order and he is now resting comfortably in his room.

G-F - Think I'll mosey down and watch them change the marquee. Might need to get out the ol' stri-ped tie and take in one of those rabbit girl clubs! Va,Va,Va,Voom! Or...maybe I'll just stay home and read the Geographic.

MDC - No, but I did try the mill. Nothing there either. Might ask Goober at the Gas station if he has anything. Maybe Floyd? I believe there might be a job as a delivery boy at the grocery store.

Asa - I am anxious for that mower. I have MANY obstacles! Trees, high roots, garden spots from the previous owners, huge decorative rocks in the yard.

LOTS of storms in Missouri yesterday and last night. And we didnt get a thing, not nary a thing! They seemed to form to our north or south and go straight east or northeast. I did have a really awesome view last night. I was out on my back deck just before it got really dark. To my northwest, you could see the lightning blazing through the clouds. Looked like Elvis walked out on stage. But...just to my west, in front of me, the stars and moon were beautiful. It was really something to see the weather so different yet so close in my eye's vision.

Better git a' goin'! Hey baseball fans, we are just THREE days away before it all gets real!
Hey to Romeena, Boo, SPOT, TOM, Big Maude and everyone else crowded around Bert Miller's stand. Have a great rest of the day!

I dont even bat an eye at it. Yeah, sure, I dont particularly enjoy it (who does?), but it's really nothing to me. What's funny is how people have different issues like this. Prime example is my FIL. I once had to clean my dog's cage because she threw up and had the runs at the same time and he come in when I was just starting to clean it up. He asked what happened, I told him, and he replied "Man, I couldn't do that. It'd make me sick!" But yet this is a man who could shoot a dear, rip it open, gut it and then immediately eat dinner without a thought of it. LOL! Ahh, to each his own.

March 30, 2017 - Msg 107156: I wanted to ask all of you a kinda serious question. The news is really starting to stress me out (as if you cant tell by my blog) and I have been thinking about just COMPLETELY ignoring the news unless it is something hugely big. My question is...how do all of you view the news and current events?
A)Pay very close attention
B)Watch it normally
C)Peek in on it
D)Ignore it altogether unless it's huge
I am just sick of all of the finger pointing, the liberals, the arguing, the political correctness stories, the fighting, the horrors, etc. I have enough on my plate, as most of you do too, and I am thinking is transgenders bathrooms, Maxine Waters, snowflakes, and all the other BS really worth my time?

JOHN, at the risk of getting too political again here, I basically catch a little news now and then throughout the day, be it on TV or radio, etc., but I try not to dwell
on it. The same stuff has been around for years,
just with a different party or different people involved.
Actually, I think the pendulum is ever so slowly beginning to swing back the other way.

March 30, 2017 - Msg 107158: Thanks Asa, we are going to be ok. Today was a better day than yesterday. You all are so kind to care about our situations when you have difficult situations of you own that you carry with such grace.

MDC, yes, very tragic about the church bus accident. It happened at Garner, which is probably the most popular camping spot in Texas. I have been there a few times, myself. I actually have a friend who lost her friend in that accident yesterday. Very, very sad. I have been praying for the church and the families involved. Thank you for praying, too.

Sounds like a good time, G-F, except for the Vienna sausage and tomato sauce. Ick.

JM, that bacon and ranch noodle salad sounds wonderful but I'm on a diet (making sad face).
Now, to answer your question, my answer is D. I find myself filled with anxiety when I watch anything political these days. Now, I'm not advocating for ignorance, but I have too many other things in my life threatening to drive me into the looney asylum these days and I have to forge ahead without the current events. I TOTALLY understand and sympathize with your frustration!

March 31, 2017 - Msg 107159: I have to ask you folks if you would say a prayer for my oldest brother. He is having heart surgery tomorrow morning, I forgot what he said it was for... something-cardiacmyopathy or other.
Brought my mom down there today and she is going to stay with him tonight and tomorrow morning, since he isn't married and doesn't have any family of his own. I also brought Kai down as moral support since she's gone through that stuff, and we will be going down tomorrow as well, and I will bring Noah as well to hopefully brighten his day and help him feel a little better, as I know he will be hurting for a while after surgery.

Sorry for your troubles, Boo. I hope they get worked out soon.

John Masters, it's like driving a car. Keep your eyes on your own road and where you are going. But also be aware of what's happening in your peripheral vision.

March 31, 2017 - Msg 107162: Morning everyone,

Sterling - Prayers sent up for your brother. I had an uncle that went thru heart surgery and he breezed thru it like it was nothing. My best wishes for the same for him!

MDC, Boo, Sterling - I find myself getting involved and wrapped up in ALL of the complete idiocy that's happening right now. As you might have seen on my blog, I let my emotions loose and let whoever have it! Then, the next day, there is more idiocy, and I get wrapped up and fired up, etc., etc.
I have a lot going on in my life and, the other day, I read something utterly STUPID and got all bothered by it. I seethed over it and realized later that this doesn't really effect me. Oh sure, the government effects me, but some transgender who was denied a bathroom or some illegal immigrant that was released by whatever state isn't going to make a hill of beans in MY life! I follow Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham and Townhall.com and I believe I should cut them out altogether. I have Google News that keeps me abreast of breaking news and other things to pay attention to. But I don't believe Maxine Waters is going to make a difference in my day! Not to brag, but I sit on 12 acres with NOTHING but cows, hillsides, chickens, a pond and the country life surrounding me. Here, there is no Black Lives Matter, Russia, transgenders and the like. When I walk out on my deck, it's like I have escaped the lunacy. They dont exist. Ok, sliding the soapbox back under the porch.

Boo - Keep us updated as how the clouds are lifting.

Ok, better git. Hey to G-F, SPOT, TOM, Asa and the rest of you gettin' spruced up to go to the big band festival! Have a great day, folks!

P.S. Left everyone two big pitchers of sweet and plain tea. Cups are under the porch and sugar / sweetener is next to the pitcher.

JOHN...did you take delivery on the mower yet? Remember water and air is free, but gas, we make a charge for that! :)
Now, regarding stepping out on your porch...all i can say is "Count your Blessings!" :)
When I step out onto my porch, all i see is a street with rows of houses, one of which is now a rental 4 doors down, with 4 college guys, and several parties that we had to call the cops about. The 'hood is nice, tho, for the most part; but some out walking their dogs use my front lawn as a bathroom, and sometimes we get an idiot or two driving way to fast or with boom boxes that rattle our windows. So, enjoy your surroundings my friend. Not sure if you are a religious guy or not, but God sees it all, and has seen it all from the ruthless Pharaohs to the pagan Romans, to Attila the Hun, and to the Nazis. It is all part of our fallen world. As I said, live life, try your best to help others, milk your cows, and count your blessings! :)
Final Four weekend in full swing here, free Keith Urban concert in downtown Phx tonight, but I'm gonna steer clear of all
the craziness and perhaps watch a bit on the TV.

MDC - Nope, the mower arrives on April 5th. I'll make sure I have enough money for every time the pump goes "ding, ding." I sympathize with your plight. I was born and raised in Kansas City, except for about five years in NW Arkansas, so I know what it's like to have the rows of houses to look at! And the noise...and the party people...and the thumping cars...and...well, you know what I mean!
Just had some pizza for dinner (without "mozerella") and I believe I will go watch some of TAGS and let it digest!

Things are better here, I still have some concerns, but the cloud of fear and pain has lifted for now and I am finding that I am able to let go and let God. Thank you all for your prayers and concerns.

Well, I am working the evening shift tonight so had better go get dressed. Hope you all have a good Saturday.

April 01, 2017 - Msg 107167: Good morning, porch! I haven't been gone anywhere, just busy. Well, I did go tour the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas on Thursday, with a group from the church. Very interesting! Thanks for wondering about me, though. It's nice to be missed.

So tragic about that church bus accident. Actually, the pictures on the news looked like it was one of those light-weight, people-mover things, rather than a commercial bus. My church has a couple of those, but they're used just in town, and mostly to transport folks around on the church campus - like from the parking lots to the main building. For road trips, we use a commercial bus, and our driver (Dennis) has driven for us for about twenty years. We usually have a 30-passenger bus, and sometimes a 53-passenger one if it's a long trip and we have enough people going. Dennis has a perfect driving record, never had an accident. I'm amazed at his skill - he can wrangle that huge bus around in the tightest spaces. I wouldn't try to park a coaster wagon in some of the places he's put that bus.

Sterling, prayers for your brother. If you want to know more about what's going on with him, just Google "Cardiomyopathy surgery." There's a lot of information there. Prayers also for all who have requested. Truthfully, I guess that could be all of us, spoken or unspoken.

John Masters, your home sounds lovely. The view from the front of my house is just a street with more houses. Nice houses, and well-kept yards, and most of the neighbors are good people, with one notable exception. However, I've got a big old picture window, 8' wide, on the back and it overlooks my pride and joy, my back yard. I can see the whole yard, flowers everywhere, a small koi pond with a little waterfall, trees that bloom and some that don't, thick green grass, decorative boulders - my own little garden of Eden. No cows, but lots of birds and squirrels and other wildlife who find my yard welcoming. It's a "certified backyard wildlife habitat", and I try to live up to the pledge that requires. It's organic, chemical free, and provides food, water, shelter and a place to raise young. I guess that's why the critters hang out here. Believe me, I count my blessings every day, for a lot of reasons.

Well, better run. I need to go to the store, and get something to cook for supper tonight - the family is coming over. Brittney is going to take some pictures, to get one to use on the cover of the book. She does beautiful photography work, so I know she'll come up with something good. Blessings, all. --Romeena

He was in good spirits(though groggy) yesterday when we saw him, and Noah even gave him a couple of "fist bumps", so he is doing well, thank the Lord.

Has Poor Horatio been around? I wanted to ask him, being that he is quite "ept" in computer matters, if he knew how to find out the ISP of someone on a Mac. Some bozo has been spamming my Youtube videos with some vile and nasty comments and accusations, I believe because I defended another Youtuber who said some things on his video about same-s#x junk, and they went after him too.
I know I could just block him(I could say "them" but I am pretty sure it is one person using different Youtube accounts - two so far) from my channel but that is too easy.
Anyway, I was going to start my search for this creep by finding out his ISP number, but I can't even seem to find the comments when I use the "Source" thing on this Mac. And searching the internet so far hasn't been any help to find out how to see that info.

April 02, 2017 - Msg 107174: Good morning, porch. Yes, it's still morning, and here I am on the porch, so obviously I didn't make it to preaching today. I kind of overdid it yesterday, and my back is really uncomfortable today. Besides that, it's raining, windy and quite chilly out there, which really tightens my back. It's only 61°, not all that cold, but with the rain and the wind, it feels colder. I hate to miss church, but it just seemed like the wiser thing to do today. Getting old is the pits.

John Masters, I would love to see those pictures, but need a favor. Would you please post your blog address again? I know perfectly well that I had it bookmarked, but can't find it. I'll put it in the bookmarks on both of my browsers this time. I wish I could help you locate that ISP - I can do it on a PC - but I know flat nothing, zero, zilch about a Mac. I've never even touched the keyboard on a Mac. Shoot, I'm still learning about a PC!

I had a big scare Friday afternoon. The power had gone out briefly on Thursday night, so had to restart my computer. No trouble there. Then later I was working on my book, had a question that I knew had been answered in some correspondence with my publisher/adviser and went to that "saved email" folder to review the answer. Guess what. No folder. None, nada. Not there. A whole folder had simply disappeared, just that, nothing else (at least not that I've noticed.) There are a lot of very important emails in that folder, and if I had to go back and query the publisher about all that stuff, I was going to look like an idiot. Lots of submission instructions and guidelines, such as that. So, in a small panic, I called my computer guru friend in Florida and presented the problem. He linked up to my computer, and visited my backup on my external drive. He fished and poked around in it for a few minutes, went to the most recent backup which was two days before the power went out, and sure enough, there was the folder, right where it should be in the "saved email" list. He copied it, went back to the active computer, and inserted it right where it belonged. All fixed. He's a wonder. Sure saved me some embarrassment and real inconvenience.

Well, I think I'll go make a pot of steel-cut oats. The weather just seems to be calling for such as that, and I've got the fresh blueberries to swing it! Yep, oatmeal, blueberries, a bit of butter and brown sugar, and that's a good breakfast on a dreary, chilly day. Blessings, folks! --Romeena

April 02, 2017 - Msg 107175: Good Sabbath, all

Romeena - Glad you got your file back! Heck, I dont know much about computer files and IPs and all that technical jargon and stuff. If I lose a file or picture, I panic. That's where the wife comes riding in and saves the day! LOL!
Here is my blog address: http://first1thing.blogspot.com/

Sterling - Great news about your brother. Here's to his continued recovery without any hitches!

MDC - You should've seen me years ago. I was a NCAA basketball tourney FREAK! The days of Kansas with Danny Manning and Tarkanian's Runnin' Rebels of UNLV! Those were the days!

I hope to get some pictures up on my blog before too awful long. I wan't to do some yardwork first (so y'all dont think I keep my yard a mess). But I will get a couple of the new mower up a day or two after.
Rays and Yankees kicking off the new MLB season! Like Jackie Gleason used to famously say..."And Away We Go!"

Boo - Sending good thoughts and wishes your way.

See ya' folks! Hey to G-F, Asa, SPOT, TOM, Maude and everyone else that saw "Bread, Love and Beans!"

April 02, 2017 - Msg 107178: Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. Things are better. Honestly, a few days ago I was ready to crater but amazingly, the pain and burden lifted. I only attribute it to answered prayer because the circumstance hasn't really changed. It's a blessing. I was somehow able to just let God have it. We are ok. I have to just take things one day at a time. I know you are all familiar with that philosophy. :)

John Masters, I wish you would post some pics of your place on the blog. I would like to see them, too. I had an idea; wouldn't it be fun if each of us described what the view is from each of our own front porches? If you stand on mine, you will see a few acres of dirt (Bruce is working hard to prepare the soil for the sprinkler system and Bermuda seed) and Live Oak trees. You might see two old muts (black and brown) chasing dragonflies or squirrels. If you look across the road, you would see mostly brush but also a nice new fence that the neighbor put up on his place while he prepares to clear the land for a house someday. You would also see our very beat up mailbox that had been vandalized and hit with a baseball bat so many times that we just gave up on it. It is dented to half its original size and the back has fallen off of it. If you looked to your right, you would see the very quiet homestead of the neighbors who had the terrible tragedy last June. There is sits, as always..silent, with wildflowers growing in the disturbingly quiet front yard. The trampoline still sits in the backyard (I wish someone would take it away). If you looked to your left, you would see mostly brush on the other side of our fence. A family bought the 5 acres next door but have never done anything with it. You might see a redbird or two, mockingbirds, and doves. This morning when I drove to the gate to go to church, I frightened away two doves who had ganged up to kill and eat a little garter snake. He got away. :)

OK...Who's next??

April 03, 2017 - Msg 107179: As far as my front porch... We have two rockers, usually I set on the left, but some days when I'm feeling REAL SPORTY I set on the right!...lol. My view is much like Romeena has watching the squirrels, birds and the other "Nature's Performers" while I do my word search puzzles in the morning.

I have a Big Oak tree where I have mounted a feeding station and watch the birds and squirrels fight for domination.
I am never disappointed, and it's a funny thing to watch..Amen Romeena?...Speaking of that, I better go out and set out the food or they'll be knocking at my door...lol

April 03, 2017 - Msg 107181: Good afternoon, porch. Boo, when you say "front porch", I'm taking that figuratively, not necessarily from our actual front porch. I hope I'm right, because the view from my real front porch is not much to talk about! The porch goes back and forms a little alcove, about six feet deep, then there's the door. If you look toward the street, you see three wooden posts, with a tangle of nandina shrubs on the other side. From the door, you really can't even see the street, which is no problem for me. The landscaping on the rest of the street is neat, well-kept, but not particularly interesting. Neatly mowed grass, a few shrubs, very few flowers. Mine, on the other hand, has lots of pretty shrubs - nandina, mahonia, boxwood, fringeflower, and about six roses. One, called Cinco de Mayo, just blooms like mad, and is so colorful. The blooms look like they were water-colored, in shades of russet, orange, brown, gold and rose. Very pretty thing.
There are irises out there too - one being Lady in Red, which is a striking reddish color, as close to real red as you'll find in an iris. One day, someone will breed a true red, but until then, Lady in Red will reign as queen.

As I'm sure you all know by now, my backyard is where my deepest interest lies, because it's what I see all the time. Just passing through this room, I can see the whole yard at once. Sitting here at my desk, it's hard to keep my mind on my work, because I stop and just gaze out there. I won't go into detail, because I do, and have, many times, and surely will again. This yard is my pride and joy. --Blessings! --Romeena

April 03, 2017 - Msg 107182: Where is Poor Horatio when we need him? I'll bet he could recommend a website that we could all use to post pictures. I'm pretty sure there's something like that out there, but I have no idea what it is. I know, there's Facebook, but I have a lot of problems with Facebook, the whole concept, and I don't go there very often. Seems like every time I do, I see something I'd just as soon not see.

Incidentally, some of you might remember that we had a Porch Album online at one time, but the site shut down. I maintained it, and we had a lot of pictures of porchsters and their families and pets. Just FYI, I still have those pictures on my computer. If anyone is looking for something, maybe I have it. You probably do too, but just in case it has gone missing, check with me. Maybe I can replace it for you. --Romeena

April 03, 2017 - Msg 107187: Hey G-F,

No offense taken! I know Cleveland is the top of the heap in the AL central. After that 7-1 smacking, thanks to our own bullpen, I am a bit shaky about this season. yeah, I know...it's one game. But walking in THREE runs?!?!

April 03, 2017 - Msg 107188: Thanks for those descriptions G-F and Ro. I hope to see your backyard in person someday, Ro. It seems that I am never in the Irving area, though, sadly. By the way, can't wait to read your book.

April 03, 2017 - Msg 107189: Thanks, Boo. I'm in the home stretch now with the publisher. Just a few details to iron out, should be in the works by next week. I'll let everyone know when it's available.

I'd love to have you come and visit. I won't say the back yard would be worth a trip from the coast (yikes!) but combine it with some iced tea and conversation, and some "purty fair" cookin', and that might be a different story. Toye Starr would make you welcome. She'll bring you her toys, then run away with it when you reach for it, the little brat. She just might land in your lap and make herself at home there, too.

Well, guess I'd better turn in. I have the bunco girls coming here Friday night to play, and the house really needs cleaning (kitchen floor is icky, needs to be mopped) and there's some pruning and deadheading to be done in the yard as well. Seems like I never get caught up. How on earth did I ever have time to work??? --Romeena

April 04, 2017 - Msg 107190: ...and 12 hour shifts no less! RO, I seem busier too!
GF--My Dbacks play your Indians in a little
inter-league game this weekend! How about a little wager
of a special at the diner? ha
SPOT--prayers for your area that all will be OK.
POSSUM--well, I guess the Carolinas took took both men's and women's
titles! Congrats.
I was pulling for Gonzaga, but alas, 'twas not to be. On the other hand,
in pure "back seat" coaching fashion... why did they drive the lane when they
really needed a 3 pointer??
Take care folks,

April 04, 2017 - Msg 107191: You are on MDC....Here's your choices.....

3 Vienna Sausages (heavy on the puree), slice of bread with butter, and side of Succotash - (80. cents)

Chicken wings, rice and mixed veggies. (Two wings that's done a lot of flying).

April 04, 2017 - Msg 107192: Sounds great, Ro. You reminded me of the time we visited in Fredricksburg and Sugarplum got on Bruce's lap. What a sweetie she was.

I have a question; what is succotash, exactly?

Off to the dentist...
