I believe the first six seasons were mostly filmed in the Hollywood, CA area (except for The Hunting Party, filmed in Manteo, NC where Andy Griffith lived, I believe they used his actual house for almost all of the scenes where he goes to visit the suspects and the guy's house who was killed...most set in Atlanta but there were a few other places like LA, DC, the UK.....then seasons 7-9 were filmed in Wilmington, NC area, but most still "set" in Atlanta but a bunch of them were set in Wilmington, starting with the first episode of season 9 (2 part) The Vacation, but also The Heist, Fatal Seduction, The Accused, maybe a couple more
