November 14, 2001 - Msg 3277: SWEEP! Hey Floyd can I borry that automatic sweeper to do my house with?? Sure would be easier than trying to vacuum whilst 3 dogs are trying to "kill" that nosy contraption that may just be here to kill us all!
*Mavis
when she's in that position she'll run on ya

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3278: Asa, would the answer to the trivia question be that butter & egg man? I can't remember his name. The one Aunt Bee pretended she was dating? I'll be dogged if I didn't lose my IQ again.
- Hazel

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3279: You got it Hazel, Mr. Hendricks. I see he was back on tonight selling an organ and having Miss Edwards flirting with him.

Asa

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3280: Hey, Asa, just which organ was Mr. Hendricks trying to sell? I hope it wasn't his patulla oblongada - you can't get along without one of those!--Romeena

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3281: Yes! I thought that might be the answer, Asa. That's the episode where Barney says: "He buttered her up and she egged him on." I noticed that too, that Mr. Hendricks was the same feller that sold the church his old organ. Which, by the way, is the same episode they showed last night. I guess TV land thinks we like to see the same one two nights in a row? Who knows.
- Hazel

Love lifted me, love lifted me...

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3282: TVLand needs to know most of us don't like the color eps, I want Barney back!!

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3287: Hi porch! Newcomer here. How does this porch work??

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3288: Hi, newcomer. Welcome to our porch. It works a little like a bulletin board, a little like a chatroom. I guess you could say it's a chatroom on delay. That is, it's not instant, but anyone can just jump in anywhere. The theme, obviously, is The Andy Griffith Show, or TAGS. We porchsters have chosen a name for ourselves, something that relates to the show. It can be a character's name, or something more general. Read through the archives and you'll get a pretty good idea of the way things are. We love to meet new friends, and all we ask is that folks keep it clean - like the show - and show respect for each other. Ideally, comments should relate to the show, but sometimes, being just folks, we digress a bit. Within reason, that's okay. Again, welcome.--Romeena

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3289: Evenin' ya'll. Welcome newcomer. Boy this porch gets swept alot. Must be the time of year. Hey Romeena, I hope Sugarplum stays clean this time. I bet she was a sight!Salty Dog, have a good time on vacation. We'll miss ya. Just send me my order before you go. Asa, I'm anxious to hear about Mannheim Steamroller. Hazel if I find your IQ, I'm keeping it. I don't have one and could sure use one. Finders keepers! :) Nite. Everybody stay well.--Helen Psalms 104:24

November 14, 2001 - Msg 3290: Hey to the Porch!
*Rafe
BARN: "Now this is gonna be a plain-clothes operation."
GOMER: "I gotta brown suit's pretty plain."
BARNEY: "Yeah, that'll be fine."

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3291: Good morning!Am I the first one to post this morning? It's only a little after seven. Oh well I hope everyone has a good day. I am leaving today for my vacation. (sniff, snuff) I will miss you guys. Maybe I can find a computer somewhere to use!Asa, take care of buisness while I'm gone. I am leaving Hazel in charge of the buisness end of it. And Mavis in charge of production. If she can wrestle with dogs all day long I'm pretty sure she can handle an AD2k. You all take care and have a good weekend! And I'll see you Sunday. Say a little prayer for us. Lots of brush fires burning in between here and where we are going. Talk to you guys Sunday night!--Salty Dog

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3292: Mornin' porch: Salty Dog have a wonderful, restful vacation. We all wish we could go with you. Get out that fishin' pole and whistle a tune --Ya hear? Asa, be thinking about ya and praying for a good check up. Hey Romeena- haven't talked to ya lately, Welcome Newcomer, just pull up a chair next to ours, we'll talk awhile. you'll feel right at home. Have a wonderful day. ~New Neighbor

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3293: Thank you New Neighbor. You are to kind. I feel good so I suspect all will be o.k.
Have a safe trip Salty Dog. We'll miss ya and pray for your safe return.
Helen, you ain't gonna believe what I found out about Mannheim Steamroller. It's BIG really BIG.

Asa

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3294: Good Morning, all. O.K. you heard what Salty said. She's leaving me in charge of the business end of the venture. Now I want everyone to get in there with them spiders and start workin!
- Hazel

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3295: good afternnon all. how did things go over at thelma lou's last night, barn? (whistles).

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3296: That Hazel, she's a tough one I tell ya. Don't wanna git her riled up. I suggest ya'll do as she said and git down there.

Asa
P.S. Doctor says "ASA" you look good enough to me, git outta here boy" I'm glad he didn't say I looked good enough to bury. I hate it when my doctor says that. Thanks all for your prayers and support this last month. It has helped a lot.

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3297: Well I'll be, I just got home and my sweetie-pie had bought me the best of TAGS. We watched Aunt Bee's medicine man. I love it when Aunt Bee comes into the courthouse feeling poorly and Barney gets all flustered and says, "Aunt Bee, maybe we need to loosen something. Ya got something we could loosen." His actions were so hysterical. Lets face it, Don Knotts was never and never will be rivaled. I was just thinking of the one when he was going to try out to represent the town singing. The one with you, Rafe. If you watch carefully, when he was singing, before Rafe showed him how to do it, neither Rafe nor Andy could keep a straight face. My hubby laughs so hard that tears come to his eyes. And I must say Rafe that you have such a beautiful voice in that episode. And the song, "Lonesome Road", that 'un makes me cry. Ya know I should have called myself Charlene with all the crying at songs these days.

Fun Girl

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3298: Have fun Salty Dog I'll try to keep 'em in line while yer gone, but with Hazel makin' everybody work under such conditions as spiders, it ain't gonna be easy! Welcome Newcomer want a bottle of pop or somethin'? Asa glad the doc turned ya loose, now you can get back to business & quit lollygaggin around! Romeena how'd SugarPlum turn out?
*Mavis
If I was a spider that's where I'd go!

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3299: Where's Miss Ellie? I miss her!!

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3300: She's around I got an email from her the other day & she posted a few days back didn't she?

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3301: Hi fun girl, how you been feeling? I like those 2 episodes too. Your hubby is a keeper, for sure. Not only does he buy you the tapes, but he watches em too! I'm from one of those "mixed" marriages; I'm addicted to TAGS and my husband is definitly not. He'll watch one now and again just to humor me, but his heart aint in it.
- Hazel

November 15, 2001 - Msg 3302: Go home take a nap, then over to Thelma Lou's to watch T.V..Yep, that's the plan. Home, nap, Thelma Lou's.

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3303: Howdy, all! Hazel, you need to do something about that man of yours. Tell him to soak something, or give him a mashed penny, whatever, but you gotta make a TAGS fan outta him. You shouldn't have to live under such conditions.
*Mavis, Sugarplum turned out fine - at least she's clean. Fun Girl, I agree with you. Rafe's voice is just beeyootiful. Sure do wish he had made a record or two, but near as I can tell, he never did.
Well, off to dreamland. Have a great weekend, friends.--Romeena

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3304: Come on Porchsters: It's FRIDAY!! Everybody UP,UP,UP! I can't believe I'm the first one on. Asa, so glad the Dr. gonna let you back to work, but we're gonna miss you on IM. Hazel, we'll pray for ya. MEN... Come on over for pancakes, sausage, donuts, coffee, OJ. ~New Neighbor

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3305: Mornin' porch. Romeena you have given me an idea. Should have done it years ago. I'll follow what that book on folk lore said. I'll go out to the country, find an oak tree, and bury some things. Piece of broken liquor bottle (for Otis), a badge (for Andy), a bullet (if I can find one, for Barney), cashew fudge (Thelma Lou), school book (Miss Crump), and a slingshot (Opie). Oh, and a lock of hair for Floyd. If I say the incant over it, by tomorrow my beloved will love TAGS, just love it. I just gotta come up with the right incant words...
- Hazel

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3306: Oh, fergot Aunt Bee. I'll bury a pickle too.
- Hazel

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3307: Now you done it Hazel. I'm laughing real hard, please stop. If that works let me know' I'll try it on my wife. She don't like TAGS much either. She's fine in every other way but that one, and that is a major.
That food sounds good N.N. Keep it warm, I'm on my way over. I'm gonna go swing a club or two here in just a little while, so ya'll better duck.
Hope everyone has a great Friday.

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3315: Evening Porch! Nice evening ain't it? Didn't get to say hello this morning had to go to work & was up 1/2 the night listening to the sound of coyotes yipping & hollerin out back! Wish they would go somewhere else & bother other people! Them carps are mean!

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3316: Howdy, friends! Just back from a five-hour stretch at the doc's office - got that thallium stress test done. It's not difficult, just time consuming. However, the preliminary word is that things look pretty good, better than expected. I'm thankful for that, and for all you good folks who have been concerned.
And now, I'm gonna take my hungry self (haven't eaten since last night) into the kitchen and scare up something goooood! Probably some MEAT, and a salad and some mushrooms, something like that. Have a great Mayberry weekend, friends. --Romeena

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3318: Romeena, that is good news! I'm glad to hear it. Sheesh, 5 hours? They do like to make you suffer, don't they? Hey, I come up with my incant to make my hubby start liking TAGS. Here it is.
Aunt makes a home, barber has a comb.
Deputy checks stores, his girlfriends adores.
Son feeds the birds, teacher teaches words.
Drunk stumbles in, spikes the crock.
Sheriff keeps the peace. That's life at the rock!
Andy in, "E.R." out, Andy in, "Friends" out.

If I can get him to stand on my right side while I say this, I think it might work.

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3319: Don't forget to bury a buckeye under the old oak. Good thing that movie feller kept Mayor Pike from cutting it down! --Romeena

November 16, 2001 - Msg 3320: Hazel that's gotta work! LOL. Romeena, boy if you don't feel that badly going in, they seem to make sure you do when you leave! Glad things are o.k.aren't as bad as they seem. That's funny, MEAT that's how we say something when we want to pass something at the table. We don't go as far as to throw it though! MEAT,BREAD etc. People will probably think we're crazy at the Thanksgiving table. TURKEY! Watch those coyotes Mavis! Mrs. Wiley, poor thing don't work to hard, now! Nite all.--Helen II Peter 3:18

November 17, 2001 - Msg 3333: I'm with y'all!! It's time fer a Andy Griffith fandemonium weekend!! Give it to me now! Now! Now!!

Newton Monroe

November 17, 2001 - Msg 3334: Howdy, friends! Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Mavis, if you're gonna be out anywhere near those coyotes, be sure you have some tweezers on you.
Now, about this TAGS fandemonium, TAGathon, whatever. Has anyone noticed that Nick at Nite doesn't pay much attention to time slots? After about 10 or 11pm, the shows start running over by a few minutes, until by the morning, they've nearly lapped a half hour. That put me to thinking, and I didn't even have my bucket. Wouldn't it be great if whoever does the next TAGS marathon would just ignore the 30-minute thing, and run TAGS eps in their entirety? They cut 'em now so's they can get their commercials in. So why not do all the commercials they want, just don't cut the eps. If it takes 45 minutes to run a 30 minute show, who cares? I'll bet none of us would mind!
Who can we talk to about this? Any ideas, anyone? --Romeena

November 17, 2001 - Msg 3335: I don't know who you can talk to Romeena but I'm all for it. I don't plan to go anywhere near them coyotes, may send the better 1/2 out there with the rifle tho. Hazel you might as well vacuum in the middle of the night, Asa will be up hollerin' out the winder anyway! Night Porch!

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3341: Mrs. Wiley, you better take the day off. I think we got enough of them hangars to see us thru Christmas. And besides, Salty Dog will be back tonight, she'll take inventory and let us know what the score is. Sit back, take it easy. What's your hurry?
- Hazel

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3342: It's me it's me it's Salty D..... I'm back and yes I am going to do inventory. Thanks to everyone for all your help while I was gone. I had a wonderful time. It wasn't long enough though! Sounds like things are fine around here. I'm glad were ready for Christmas at AD2K. Now we can plan our Christmas party! Have a good night! I have to wash clothes now (UGHHH) but I'll be back later.--Salty Dog

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3343: Good Sabbath every body. Uncle Ollie "That's something you just can talk enough about, sin."

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3344: Welcome back Salty Dog, things been quiet around here without ya. Are ya ready for the Christmas rush and the last minute orders we hafta fill before the deadline? Asa picked a good week to go back to work, short a few days for Thanksgiving. Started the baking and planning already. Whick one is having dinner for the gang or are we having a progressive one? ~New Neighbor

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3345: Hey ever' body! Glad to see Salty D made it back safe & sound. I think we should all just go to Aunt Bee's for Thanksgiving! I'm trying to get things done here for the family to come visitin' Whatever happened to going to Grandma's house?? I ain't no grandmaw!
*Mavis

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3346: Howdy, everybody! Salty D, I'm glad you're back. Been racking my brain for ideas for Christmas gifts for family, and thought of the AD2K! Whip me up about four of those, please - one for each kid and their household. They're gonna love it, just love it!
Well, my remodeler friend comes early tomorrow morning to take a sledgehammer to my shower. It's been leaking, so I'm getting a whole new shower done! New, pretty tile, updated fixtures, etc. Hooboy! Mavis, please don't let your other 1/2 shoot those poor coyotes. They're just tryin' to make a living. Can't he just shoot in the air and scare them away? (Sorry, huntin' just never did run in our family, except maybe with a camera.) I've never been partial to the TAGS ep where Andy goes crow-shooting, either.
Have a really great Mayberry/Thanksgiving week, folks. --Romeena

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3347: Hey porchters. How is everyone this day? So glad to have you back home in our family S.D. Mrs. Wiley has been working her fingers to the bone while you was gone, bless her.
Romeena gets a new shower this week, olala. She deserves it though.
Mavis, I only got this to say GO REDSKINS...
I like the idea of a proggresive Thanksgiving dinner N.N. Everyone doing turkey, or do we have any non-conformists on the porch. Turkey at our house.
Well good to see everyone posting today. I love you guys.

Asa

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3348: We'll be doing turkey at our house, though not necessarily on Thursday. Depends on when kids can coordinate with in-laws. I try to just be flexible and accommodate them. Anyhow, if we have that progressive thing, I'll bring some asparagus with hollandaise sauce (yum). I'll be making it for my family anyway, so it's easy to make some to share. Or would you rather I'd make some fresh-cooked cranberry sauce with candied orange rind curls? I never know whether to cook fancy and serve it plain, or cook plain and serve it fancy. I have trouble doing both at the same time, and most of the time, I cook plain and serve it plain as well! Nobody walks away from the table hungry, though, so guess it's okay. --Romeena

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3349: Ya'll got to quit talking about all that food. I'm gonna be hungry all week waiting for Thanksgiving to get here. You all sure know how to make a body feel welcome (sniff sniff) I wouldn't take a dollar and a quarter for you guys!! Mavis I'm with you for going to Aunt Bee's. Less cooking for me to do!!--Salty Dog

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3350: I vote for the progressive thing. I think that means we go to different houses for each course, right? Asa already said he'd do the turkey, Romeena wants the veggie, could I do the rolls? Or how bout you all start here first, with some fresh mulberry squeezins, or wine, or water or whatever? Oh, I got an update on the TAGS incant I tried earlier in the week on my husband. I had a tape in, whilst I was sitting at the table paying the bills. It was the class reunion, where Andy & Barney organize the reunion, and at the end they sing "Mayberry Union High". Anyway, hubby came in about half way thru the show and sat in his chair to read the paper. And, at the end, now get this, I actually heard him humming the tune to the song. It's a miracle!

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3351: Oh, glad to have you back, Salty. Missed you something fierce.
- Hazel

November 18, 2001 - Msg 3352: Hey Romeena since they only hang out in the middle of the night, that is all he could do shoot in the air, he can't see them, we can only hear them. I'm just worried about my little dogs knowing they are out there, they would eat them for breakfast if they get the chance. They have already killed 2 of the neighbor's calves this year. I agree Asa my boys done good today didn't they? Go Redskins!!

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3364: Bring back the balack and white episodes!

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3365: Howdy, friends! A little old thought popped into my mind this morning, and I thought I'd submit it for your consideration. It has to do with black&white eps vs color eps. I prefer the black&whites myself, as most of us do. However, as I watched a color ep this morning, I realized that it was pretty good, and I would enjoy it a lot if I stopped comparing it to the black&whites! In fact, if I'd never seen the black&whites, I'd think the color eps were terrific. It's just different, like Coke is different from Sprite, or "I Love Lucy" is different from "The Dick Van Dyke Show". They're all good. I don't stop watching Dick Van Dyke just because it's different from Lucy, and while I'm watching one I'm not wishing for the other. I just enjoy whatever's being run.
Soooo, I've decided to enjoy the color TAGS eps for what they are, and stop wishing for the black&whites. I'll just be thankful that somebody is showing Andy in any form. Does that make any sense?? --Romeena

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3366: Well Romeena I use to only watch the black and whites but I have started watching some of the color and I enjoy some of them, I still can't stand to watch the ones with Warren but the ones like Goobers Beard that has a lot of Floyd in them are OK by me. Uncle Ollie "Learn to love 'em"

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3367: Don't you talk about Warren...he's my deputy figure.

*Ted

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3368: Hey everybody! Asa I hope you had a good day at work and didn't overdo. Welcome back Salty Dog! Hope you had a good trip. I'm sure Asa will have you back real soon. I'm like you Uncle Ollie I can't stand the Warren ones! Sorry Ted. Just can't "hep" it. We have a local station that plays 2 TAGS a night, and they're having a Mayberry-a-thon this weekend! Yea. Probably won't see much though. Mavis, we had 4 Cherokee Indians at our cub scout pack meeting this week. They were great! Got my son very interested in their traditions. Your web-site was perfect timing. Thanks, or Wide-O (sp?)--Helen

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3369: Romeena, that is amazing! That is the very idea I had!
- Hazel

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3370: Hey Helen ya done good there, but make that Wado which means Thanks in Cherokee. If ya need anymore info for your young' un there, let me know & I'll send some sites to ya. Romeena you always make sense my friend, but I still can't bring myself to like the colored ones as much as the b & w, some of them, but most of them I can do without.
Off to finish some of my stuff on here.
*Mavis

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3371: Hey Mavis:

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3376: Is there any more empty chairs on the porch? I've never passed this way before so I thought I'd stop and say howdy. Diana

November 19, 2001 - Msg 3377: Evening Porch, we always have room for more Diana, pull up a chair and jump in. And welcome.
Are you a redskins kinda fan also N.N.?
I agree with ya Romeena on your premise. It's still hard not to compare though. But colored tags is better than none at all.
Has anyone heard from Homemaker latley? She's missing on us. BLUE... BLUE... BLUEEEEE...
You know Hazel, thats just what I was gonna say to. AMAZING...

Asa

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3378: Good mornin' to the Porch. Romeena, I agree with you about not comparin' the color episodes of TAGS to the B&W versions. There are some good shows among the color ones, and if a body didn't set down and watch 'em with an open mind, they might just miss out on something special. 'Sides, the color shows aren't nearly as familiar to most of us TAGS fans, so it's kinda like seein' a long-lost, brand-new episode!

Well, I've committed myself to bringin' mashed taters and corn casserole to the family's Thanksgiving meal. Anybody else bringin' a "special" dish for everybody to share? My family's big, so we only bring a couple of dishes apiece, and we have a GREAT feast! It's gonna be BIG! (Aw, big ain't the word for it).

If I don't see you all betwixt now and then, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! God bless us, every one.

I'll see ya.

Guess I'm bringing my Cool Whip Salad, & some canned green beans & red taters from my garden this year. Might even brang a punkin pie! Just one year I'd like to get out of making that Cool Whip Salad, but I'd hate to be shot on Thanksgiving for not making it! LOL

- Hazel

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3384: How about if I bring my homemade rolls? They are always a big hit. I'll make enough for everybody to have at least 2 a piece. And a bunch of pecan pies. Anything else? ~New Neighbor

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3385: Thanks so much for the wecome. This morning I think I'd have to put that thinkin' bucket ON my head, instead of the other end! It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one with the Mayberry affliction. My husband had hopes I'd get over it but I believe it's a lost cause now! See everyone later. Diana

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3386: Good morning porchters! And welcome to Diana! You'll like it out here. It seems like one way or another the conversation always turns to food!! Wonder what causes that? Is anyone bringing turkey? I'll bring it. I use this injector to put cajun marinade into it. You'll love it just love it!! Is 14 lbs enough? I'll bring a couple jugs of sweet tea too! And by the way we can have all the room in the world at the AD2K dining hall and lounge. It's all right with me if it's all right with ASA. Yall have a good un-- Salty Dog

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3387: Welcome to Diana! You don't have to bring a thing Diana, I'll bring enough for you and yours. I'll bring a ham and a cheese ball, tea and a dessert. I get in a cooking mood this time of year. About the only time I do. :) NN could you bring some of that apple pie too? It sounded wonderful. Thanks Mavis helping this European gal out! Romeena, I like your attitude. I'll try to remember that the next time I see color! Where's Salty Dog. I guess Asa has her working too hard. Hey SD. Again welcome Diana! I think we're all hopeless when it comes to TAGS. Ya'll have a good day! --Helen

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3388: We must have posted at the same time SD. The Turkey sounds wonderful. If we run out of room, we can just hang around in the AD2K's and double our room. They might be nice to hang around in after we stuff ourselves! Diana, the AD2K's stands for Asalty Dog 2000. It is the contraption that Barney hung around in to stretch himself! Asa and Salty Dog are marketing them. See ya--Helen

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3389: Hey Helen you mean your're one of them from that there Europe that Brisco was talkin' about bring in, I guess TAGS is multinational or in other words, just plain good. Uncle Ollie "They got it from us."

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3390: Uncle Ollie if it's good, it's just good, no matter what language! Diana yer husband sounds like most of the other better halves on the porch, mine has just learned to live with it! hehe I am so tired tonight if I speel a word wrong, plees dont tel Ms. Crump she'll mak me warsh the blakbords or sumthin lik that ther!
*Mavis

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3391: Oh, & Diana check out the Cutlass & see if ya want to join in, I still ain't finished with all of it yet (SOME of us have to work for a living, huh Asa)we'd be glad to have ya!
*Mavis

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3392: Hey Asa:
Would one of them AD2K aid in dragging out a deer from the mountains? I was just thinkin' that if you could get it in the sling, it would be easy to drag it out! Getting it in the sling might be the challenge! What size would I need? I'm a thinkin' that I could use one to smoke the hams too. Just hang it up with one in it and fire up the smoker. See it is multi-functional... ~New Neighbor

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3393: Hi Porch Pals,
I am new to this. I was wondering if there were
any Christmas programs shown on the original
Andy Griffith series? Also, I prefer the black and white shows with Barney. When they start showing the ones with Warren on I flip to another channel.

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3394: Another blast from the past-
Happy Birthday to the old Porch's original Opie, a prince of a fella!

MPO
We now return you to our regular progam, already in progess~

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3395: Sweet tea! Sweet tea sounds extry good there SD. I for sure got the hankering for a big old glass of sweet tea. Yes there was a Christmas program. Do ya'll remember the one where Ben Weaver evicts the family and they spend Christmas in the jail house and Ben winds up getting his self arrested so he can join in on the festivities. I can't remember the name of the family. I keep thinking it was the Scobys, but then something in my head says that's not right. Somebody set me straight.
Fun Girl

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3396: Your halfway there Fun Girl. The husband got hisself arrested fer homade spirits at Ben Weaver's insistance. So Andy arrested the whole family so's they could spend Christmas together. Ben was feelin kinda lonely and so tried to git hisself arrested so's he could be with someone. This same family was in a later episode as the Scolby's when Ben was evicting them. You just got the two combined, but we still love ya.
That AD2K should work well for your doings N.N. I'll have the boys at the lab do a trouble check to make sure though.

Asa

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3397: Well Uncle Ollie, I'm really just a 'round-eyed' southern girl, not a Native American or anything. I was born in good ole' Alabama! Proud to be American. My ancestors were from Europe though. Didn't mean to send the wrong message. Just that I'm not Native American. Ya'll have a good nite, ya hear.--Helen Psalms 136

November 20, 2001 - Msg 3398: I've been reading here for a bit now and thought I might try and jump in. Is anyone using the name Tilley? Just don't call me The Beaver. I'm sensitive about that. :-) I think I could use one of them AD2K's Asa. Ain't that what you used when your back was out? My back has been giving me fits lately.

Sure is nice to hear folks talking about a big family Thanksgiving. My other half's family used to have huge Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners until "Grandma" passed on. I sure miss them.

Y'all sure seem like nice folks. Mind if I pull up a rocker and count cars?

Tilley

November 21, 2001 - Msg 3399: Morning Porch, and WELCOME Tilley! Great name selection - I love the lady who goes on and on about "the beaver"! Just jump on in and hang on. Asa, You ARE a bank of TAGS knowledge, arent ye? I knew you was guarding more than just money down there to the bank!

Day-before Thanksgiving breakfast is ON! This is the day that my aunt and cousin from Chicago would fly down to ATL (before they got too old to travel). Dad would pick 'em up at the airport, come home and we'd have Dainish, coffee, cookies.. then it would blur into early "happy hour" with hourderves and light coctails...then lunch...on and on and on.

~ Mrs. Wiley
"the girls start feelin' sorry for him and then he just hangs around and hangs around and hangs around..."

November 21, 2001 - Msg 3400: Morning, Mrs. Wiley. Your day before Thanksgiving family tradition sounds like my familys way of doing up the holidays too. Especially the on and on and on part. Welcome to the porch, Tilley. Glad to have you.

Otis: I seen temptation coming, but it seen me coming too.

November 21, 2001 - Msg 3401: Mornin Hazel, Mrs. Wiley, Welcome Tilley. Glad to have you join in the fun and fellowship. Hey Uncle Ollie, I'm a first generation American if that counts. My parents came here from England. I'm the only one in my family to be born on American soil, and I'm sure proud of it.
How's the bathroom remodel going Romeena? You cussing yet? Bet ya are.
Hope ya'll have a good Thanksgiving eve today and a great Thanksgiving day If I don't see ya till then.
