January 01, 2005 - Msg 26151: 'Morning, dears. For some reason, I haven't been able to post here for about 4 days. The error message kept coming up, saying "Censor Alert". If it was about that moonshining, I haven't been doing that anymore, at least not so you'd notice. The day I was first banned, I had big, important things to post too. But now I've just plumb forgot what they was. Oh, I remember. Welcome to the porch Mr. MacBeevee. And I was going to tell Sterling it's about time you got your Ma electronilized. And Romeena, you said the Plum wanted a chicken receipe. When she eats chicken, does she say "It tastes just like dogfood?" Mrs. Wiley, your comment about slipping across the floors and it's off to the races. Reminded me of the ep where Otis spiked the spring water. Barney told Andy, he took one drink and it was "Happy New Year".
Which reminds me. Happy New Year!
- Hazel

P.S. Asa hasn't been able to post either because of the censor thing, so hopefully he'll be allowed back on too. I wonder if old Mr. Weaver turned him in for something. Or maybe he was caught rolling one of Barneys prisoners again.

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26158: Well Happy New year to you all..
It is almost 5 this evening and I am just now turning on the computer....and boy is it moving slow..
I sure am thinking of catching Dell on one of their specials they have going on now.

Anyway..hope everyone was safe last night. Hubby and I couldnt stay awake..We made it till 11:30 I think.

Talk to you guys later...

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26159: Hey to the Porch. I'm sorry I worried any of you, I have been so busy at work, Christmas holidays are one of the busiest for us puppy groomers & it seems like we would never get all them dogs done. Christmas went ok, it sure was hard without Mom, but we made it through. (if you could call it that, I'm still alive anyway) We went Christmas night & lit some luminaries on Mom's grave, our grandparents & our uncle as well. Then we all went home & cried, but we made it. I sure am glad to see this past year go by, been a bad one for me & mine. Getting ready to really change some things in our store so hopefully things will start looking up soon. Sorry I worried ya'll, please don't make me stay with "Aunt Bea? Bloody Mary!"

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26160: Floyd: I dont know if you are still wanting recipies for Aunt Bee's Cookbook, but I added one tonight in General. I hope to add more when I have more time. This is the first time I have actually looked through it so much. I love it..its my passion.

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26161: Hey Alyce, We're always looking for recipies at the Aunt Bee's Cookbook online. Thank you for letting me know that you added one!!

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26162: Gotta quick question for you fine folks....as I clean up from Christmas and just everyday clutter (oh I dislike that word so much)...I come across all the beautiful Christmas cards that wonderful people have sent us.. Well, what do you guys do with your cards after Christmas is over?
I used to have a friend who would cut the card in half,so that she had the picture part of it..and would use the back of that for recipe cards.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26163: Alyce, I used to save the fronts of neat cards and then cut them apart and stagger the pieces, gluing them by cutting tabs from the card back, making a 3-D picture in a shoe box. Used wallpaper, fabric, or card scenes for the back wall of the picture. Made and gave several of them but no time anymore so now I just pitch most of them. Seems a waste, doesn't it?
Charlotte Tucker

January 01, 2005 - Msg 26164: Hey, Alyce! You might check with day care centers, nursing homes, and your local ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens). I understand they do things with those cards. That's what I've done with mine at times - I think they take the picture part and glue it onto new card stock, to make "new" Christmas cards.

Yep, I hate that "clutter" word, too, and there's plenty of it around here. I'm determined that I'm not taking my Christmas stuff down until I've gone through the closets and found new homes (trash bags?) for whatever wasn't used this year. I always put the in-use stuff back in with the hasn't-been-used-in-years stuff, and I'm just not going to do that this year. I won't actually trash it, as most of it is quite usable, there's just too much. I'll find a suitable recycle place for it all.

Mavis, it's good to see you back on the porch. I know it was hard, but you did make it through. I'm proud of you.

Well, off to bed, if I'm to make it to preaching in the morning. Sugarplum says Happy New Year! --Romeena

January 02, 2005 - Msg 26165: I just chuck my old Christmas cards. I really love getting them, and I used to save them, but I never did anything with them and they just sat in a shoe box and cluttered up the place. A few years back I was going thru my Christmas decoration box when I was getting ready to decorate, and I found some strings of lights that I had neatly labled "work" and "don't work". Each year I would get out the ones that worked, and leave the ones that didn't work in the box. I'd kept them in there for at least 10 years, always thinking that one of these times I'd replace the lights or figure out why they didn't work. I finally did just put them in the garbage and I've never looked back.
I got an e-mail from Asa last night, and he's still blocked from posting on here. He says "Happy New Year". Hopefully Floyd will get the problem fixed soon. I told Asa that if he can't post by next Sunday, we'd all take a drive up to state prison and see him.

Mavis, so good to see you survived the Holidays. We were all worried about you. Sounds like your keeping busy wich is just what you need.
Mrs. Wiley, I am sorry to hear you reinjured yourself. I sure hope you can get all healed up. I think I still might have one of them Asalty Dog 2001's around here if you think that will help.
Hazel, I can just see you walking away from your trash can as it is being dumped, and as you turn around the trash mans says "don't look back"! You crack me up!
Happy New Year to everyone. Lets hope and pray it's a good one.

January 02, 2005 - Msg 26168: I hope they don't do a full-scale manhunt for you, Asa, now that you've escaped. Don't go to Emma Brands house, just because you smell her pies she's got cooling on her window sill. That'll be the first place they check.

January 02, 2005 - Msg 26169: Hows the weather on the various ends of the porch today?
If my town was a drink, we'd be on the rocks! Ice everywhere. And I went out for a walk in it. I guess I'm just a glutten for punishment. It's a good workout, though. For your legs anyway; your muscles are always contracted, just waiting for a slip I guess.
Well, have a good day. And don't tell me to break a leg, because I probably will.;)

January 02, 2005 - Msg 26175: Good evening, everyone. Well, drat! I was looking forward to sitting here at my window and enjoying the Christmas lights in the back yard, and now I can't. We've had a little rain, and I guess some of the connections got wet, because the GFCI plugs tripped, and the yard is dark as pitch. I tried resetting the one I can reach easily, and it tripped again immediately, so guess I'll leave them alone. I know, it's time to start taking the lights down anyway, but they're so pretty and I enjoy them so much. Oh, well...

Asa! Boy, it's good to have you back. Were there any others up there at The Rock with you? I hope Floyd is able to secure their parole soon, too. He's a wonder, that feller.

Pipeman, you're a caution, you know that? I just don't know how we ever got along until you joined us here on this porch. Sure am glad you decided to run for mayor, too.

Well, guess I'd better go feed little Plum, she's been in here poking my ankle with her nose several times. If I don't go soon, she'll grab my shirt tail and yank. Several of my shirts have little holes down around the hem.

January 02, 2005 - Msg 26179: Hey all, I have a question. If someone sends you an indignant email(on EBay) because of how you made a tongue-in-cheek joke about a well-known product that is similar but possibly not as safe as the one you're selling, and it seems like they didn't get the joke. That or they are really big fans of this other product(they have a website dedicated to it in fact). And they are also(possibly) watching your item in their "watch this item" personal ebay account(I say this because my account said that someone started watching the item about the same time as I got the question).
What should I do? Should I respond and say sorry you were offended but I meant it as a joke? My wife thinks I respond at all, but then I think maybe this person IS watching it and intends to bid on it and then leave negative feedback and mess up our 100% positive feedback score, or they just want to see if I will change the description and take out the joke they don't like.
I also thought of putting in a(another tongue-in-cheek) disclaimer on the description saying something to the effect that I don't think every one of this product are bad, but I don't know if that will go over well either, but that's what my sarcastic side wants to do. ;)
Or should I just do nothing? Any suggestions? Sorry I can't give more detail here.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Have a good night(again)!

Here is a little useless trivia to start to "clutter up" your new year...
In the first season of tags, there is no window to the right of the courthouse door from the "inside", even tho the outside shots have a window. There is also a "door to nowhere" just to the left of the cells.
At the start of the 2nd season, the inside and outside were "the same' and the door was replaced with a heater (the one where Gomer 'saves' Andy.

Nice to see you, Mavis - glad you made it through the holidays.

A big howdy to Mr. McBeevee also! Nice to have you here. Sit a spell and jaw with us a while. Same to Donnie from NB (Is that New Brunswick?)

All the best to you, Goober, with the adoption. I'm sure you and the Mrs. will make good parents for a new little one.

Life is good.

Alyce, I'd really like to know more about your cranberry chicken. That sounds like a recipe that would surely twang my buds. I ate some cranberry chicken, with long grain and wild rice, at a cozy little back-street restaurant called "The Goblin Market" in Mt. Dora, Florida, and it was gooo-oood! Next time I ate there, about a year later, they didn't have it on the menu. Seems it sorta comes and goes. Good place to eat if'n you're ever in Mt. Dora, though. Nice little town, nice place to eat.

Well, guess I'll go watch a little more TAGS. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

January 03, 2005 - Msg 26211: Hey..
Romeena: I actually got the recipe for Cranberry Chicken on this site..Aunt Bee's Cookbook. I will change it a little next time I make it, but it was pretty good. This had cranberry sauce, catalina dressing, and onion soup mix. I would scratch the catalina and maybe use a raspberry vinegrette instead. A lot of times, I have marinated chicken in that vinegrette and grilled it.

Pipe: hmm...I am known for feeding the help!! If you're here working, be sure to stay and eat. Yep, dessert too! Thought I might make some pecan tassies tomorrow for the contractors (if they show up)

Have a good night you guys..I am going back to putting ornaments away.

January 03, 2005 - Msg 26212: Hey, Alyce. I think I've misplaced Aunt Bee's Cookbook. Could you direct me to it? I checked the links list to see if I might have lost it there, but didn't see it. Help would be appreciated. --Romeena

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26213: Hey Romeena - Floyd posted the link to the Cookbook in Msg 26161 above.

Forgot to give a "hey" to spot - glad you're doing much better.

Pipeman - I don't think I could spin a tale that would be worth a TAGS set, so I guess I'll just save up my money and buy it for myself.

Alyce - when we remodeled our house and painted our new game room, my hubby used a "Paint Stick" (made by HomeRight - I think he picked it up at Sears possibly) - it funnels the paint straight into a tube attached to the roller so there's no big mess, etc. It took a little bit to get used to, and works best on flat finished walls (not textured) but it sure cut down on the painting time.

Well - I better head to bed, I've got a busy day tomorrow. Night, ya'll.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26214: good morning porchsters. got flap jacks a cookin and all the condiments, homemade sausage, biscuts, freshly chruned butter.chicken layed eggs, country ham, fresh donuts and fruit. coffee, fresh milk, tea, hot chocolate. open till noon, slide on by. hope everyone has a great day. pipeman.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26215: Good morning, all. Pipeman, could you toss a handful of chopped pecans into one of those flapjacks? No syrup, please, just a bit of butter smeared on, and I'll eat them like big cookies. I love waffles that way, but flapjacks work, too.

AFD, thanks for pointing me to that message and link. I guess I was thinking of something else when I read that earlier, it didn't sink in.

My friend (DIL's mom) and I are going to see "The Polar Express" this afternoon at an IMAX theater. I just love IMAX, and used to have to go to Ft. Worth to see it, but we now have one here in Dallas. Should be very good.

It's wet and drizzly here, 56 degrees, heading for 70+. It's pleasant, being this warm and balmy, but it has its problems. Things will begin to bud out that shouldn't, and bulbs will start to sprout. Then in February they'll all get their heads frozen off. Now if the cottonwood trees would just start putting their little green beads out, I wouldn't mind one bit if they got frozen. That happened once, and we had almost no cotton. It was a wonderful spring and summer!

Well, have a good day, folks. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

Have fun watching it though. My daughter saw it in a reg. theater..said it was good.

Have a great day everyone!

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26221: Bill O'Reilly made a good point last night. He said that all these businesses who have such a problem saying Merry Christmas in their advertising, now have NO trouble advertising their AFTER-Christmas sales. Weird but true huh?!

Romeena, have fun at the IMAX! Those characters should be EXTRA scary now!;) Some of those computerized people just don't look right sometimes.

Alyce, that's what I was thinking of having for breakfast today - Wheat Thins. Small world.:)

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26222: Hey Porch Friends!

My how much I've missed! Sorry to have been gone so long! I missed Christmas, New Years, and all the eve's! I am just now beginning to recuperate from it all.

I was so sorry to read about Mrs. Wiley's recurring health problems. I hope you are already starting to mend!

It was nice to see that Mavis visited the porch...here's wishing you a wonderful New Year, Mavis!

I received the tags DVD set for Christmas! I just haven't had nary a minute to look at it yet! Maybe tonight! Who's on for a plain old Tuesday, sit down with a bowl of popcorn, have a can of soda or two, and watch some TAGS DVDs? My place at 7:00 p.m. sharplike! Just leave your boots by the door!

Welcome to Mr. McBeevee! Where abouts from California do you hail from? I'm from Michigan, and we just lost in the Rose Bowl! BOO HOO!

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26223: Uhh Mary Wiggins, it being Tuesday Night I believe fudge is in order, not popcorn. So count me in and welcome back.

I live in Agoura Hills about 40 minutes from the Rose Bowl, Sorry bout Michigan but they fought the hard battle!
Hope you and all have a GREAT DAY!

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26226: Romeena- the 3D Imax Polar Express is AWESOME!

Pipeman- thanks for the declaration! I need a good safe, peaceful place like this here porch!
Homemaker - glad the operation went ok, hope he gets lots of ice cream! Sorry about the goat!
Here is an interesting FACT form the ti-tal wave:
Very FEW animals died! Many were found running for high ground about 30 minutes before it hit! Isnt that interesting!
Our congregation collected a great amount!
Hope that testy Norwegian will eat his words about us "stingy" Americans! How much did Norway offer our hurricane victims?? Ok, blooey goes the soapbox.
Let's have a super tags dvd marathon kind o day!
Prayers for all.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26227: Hey..

MDC: Yep, that was mentioned in our Sunday School class about the animals and the tsunami..they just sensed it coming on...very interesting. No DRAMAMINE here..I would be out cold for 3 days!! I took it when we were at an amusement park once and I was half asleep on the roller coasters. I am little (well not as little as I used to be) But it doesnt take much to knock me out. I cant even take cold meds unless I have someone to watch the kids for me.

Sterling: How about that..the Wheat Thins..I like to put the squirt cheese on them too. I've had an a-ssortment of junk today too.

Hello Mary Wiggins.. We lost the Sugar Bowl last night (VA Tech) Oh well..that got that far!
Fraid I wont be joining yall for the TAGS Tuesday..I must say that Tues are my TV nights..on ABC...such hilarious shows..

Have a good evening..Oh the menu tonight is...

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26228: ro= your breakfast request is granted. we aim to please. bet, your welcome for breakfast, sterling and i could use a few of those degrees. alyce, remember the episode where andy hired the handyman and ended up doing all the work but was fed real well, best sleeping etc? that was what i had in mind on your painting party. i do a lot of home improvements but i tell everyone i was taught how to blow it up not fix it up.ha. sterling, we're becoming a nation of forked tongues like bill o'riley pointed out. we are destroying our military for the enemy, before i getin trouble let me explain; soldiers several with years of experience are looking over there shoulders waiting to be arrested for things that mostly need done in a combat enviorment. then they wonder why their numbers are dwindling. soap box imploded.mary wiggins, glad your back missed you, pray mrs wiley health will improve and spot's soon. asa, i love the fudge idea, so many varieties to choose from- they may have to scrape us off the ceiling but that's ok isn't it? mayberry deputy, are you driving this year? i put an abrahams tank engine in- 500 cubic inch chrysler engine, what do you think? mr mcbeevee, you catching any of that strange weather? mdc, you and i are competing to see who implodes the most soap boxes in 05? do we need a slogan like no jive in 05, or no strife in 05. can anyone think of a great slogan? pipeman

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26230: we need colin powell as secretary of defence or a general not a civilian . last entry. last two soap boxes imploded. pipeman

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26231: Afternoon Porchsters. Been away all day visiting clients. Howdy to all, especially those that have been away for a while. Sorry about the bowl losses...at least y'all had teams in bowls. I'm a Clemson fan, we honestly FOUGHT our way OUT of bowl contention. Oh well, there's always next year. MDC- saw that Norwegian this morning on the Today Show (my wife watches that, I watch Fox News) he sure seemed to be doing a lot of "back-peddling." Give me a break with the talk of we delayed too long before reacting. We're the most compassionate nation on earth. I'm with you MDC, where was Norway during the hurricanes? Okay, imploding soapbox now.Talk to y'all later.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26232: I'm with all of you on this "stingy" thing. Why don't they ask the terrorist countries how much they are going to contribute?!

Alyce, you consider Wheat Thins junk? Or are you talking about other stuff? I would think Wheat Thins are healthier than other things you could eat. And yeah, I like the Easy-Cheese(that's the brand around here) too! And even more on Triscuits! Yum! See, now you've got me hungry for Triscuits and you weren't even talking about them.:)

-Sterling Holobyte

Hey, has anyone seen Ed Sawyer? He popped in here for like a second on Christmas, and hasn't shown up since.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26233: Sterling & Alyce- love the squirt cheese, too. Problem is, it only last for about 30 minutes in my house. I also like "something on a crisp Ritz cracker. Mmmmmm, good cracker." Who said that?

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26234: I think he's over buying the gas station.(teehee)
Hey, then where did this "wally" come from?
Was that an inconsistancy in the story line?
Or did wally buy it from Ed, who then sold it to Goober?
A curious MDC

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26235: Aw, Rev Jr. do ya have to ask? Of course that's Andy Griffiths' famous line. "MMMmmm good cracker!"

I was just wondering to myself, like I sometimes do... usually in the outhouse. But anyway, I wonder if Don Knotts ever sang to his daughter/children? I was just pondering that if Don was my Daddy, I'd be partial to hearing "Santa Lucia" before bed. Mr. Knotts, if you're out there, did you ever sing to your kids and if so what did they like to hear?

~ Mrs. Wiley
Gomer: "Go on, take a thank under there!"

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26236: Wooohoooo! The Polar Express in 3D IMAX absolutely rocks!! It was incredible! I've never seen such amazing special effects in my life. I know that they "animated" right over real people, like Tom Hanks, and that a lot of computer animation was blended with real stuff, like the train, but it was absolutely seamless. You could not tell where one ended and the other medium began. Beautifully done! I highly recommend it.

You know, I have much for which to be thankful. I don't get motion sick, I have no allergies, and I eat anything. You can take me anywhere, and feed me most anything, and I'll be happy. I don't drink milk, and I'll let the snails slide on by, but that's about the only exceptions. Surely is convenient at times.

Well, guess I'll go rustle up something. Say, you Triscuit eaters - have you tried the Rosemary and Olive Oil variety? Gooood! Sugarplum likes 'em, too. She says hey! --Romeena

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26237: Well I am bummed..football again..and on ABC...guess I will be cleaning/watching the TAGS DVD..sounds like a good thing anyway.

Sterling..No, I dont consider Wheat Thins junk..but the chips, cookies, etc that I have been eating is junk...and I guess if you eat half a box of Wheat Thins..it cant be good for you!

Ro: Glad you enjoyed the IMAX..I'll watch it on DVD when it comes out.

See yall later!

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26238: Hey guys.... well back to school tomorrow...... icky poo. I was enjoying my do-nothingness..... but I can't alwasy be lazy. Then life wouldn't be exciting or fun.

Alyce I belive you asked what Vacuum it was we had to look at and it was a Kirby. The small package was $1700 and the complete was almost $2000. Yikes. It was a very nice vacuum though. Worked great.

So I just skimmed over the posts. Did I miss anything real important? We have been busy here with New Years and taking down decorations..... Busy busy busy.

Be good guys.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26240: Oh, that's a half a box of Wheat Thins.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26241: Dixie..oh yes..Kirby..I have heard of them..but I didnt realize it was sooooo expensive. I am still thinking of sweet talking my husband into an Oreck.

Sterling: I like the garden vegetable wheat thins too.. I think that is the name. They are all good with nothing on them too. Nice sweet and savory flavor..

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26242: Gomer: Well..my cousin and me did take one liberty.
Mr Tucker: What's that?
Gomer: well, he took my picture with the hood up.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26243: I wonder if we're about due for a sweep. I'll tell Otis to do it after he washes the dishes and chops the wood and cleans his room.

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26244: Those Kirby salesmen are ruthless! I saw a piece on 60 minutes about 4 years ago, that showed (by hidden camera) some of their sales meetings, and it was "do ANYTHING to get a sale" and they are no better than Oreck really! I prefer the type of saleman who set up a stand across from Weaver's!
More wieeeird weather in Phoenix tonight!
Hail and Tornado watches, yes can you believe it!! We never have tornadoes here, and houses dont have basements here. Very strange stuff!
Some parts had inch size hail !
Is it Matthew 24 time? maybe!
Dix, hope school goes well for you. Prayers for you and spot and mavis, pipeman, Romena, goober, Mrs wiley, afd, deputy, rev, ed sawyer, big tom, Charlotte, sterling , Auh20, asa, Mary w, alyce and any I may have forgot! The saving blood of Jesus over you ALL!

January 04, 2005 - Msg 26246: Hazel, I believe Otis just snuck out of here in the back of a laundry truck.
Romeena, ya mean to tell me if I offered you a bowl of snails covered in milk, ya wouldn't even try em?
Who got us on this vacuum talk? It really sucks. (hahaha I crack me up). I think you were asking about them Alyce. We bit the bullet when we built our last three homes and installed central vac in all 3 of them and I wouldn't give you a dollar and a quarter for anything else. We absolutly love it. Everything gets sucked out of the house, the power head is light and does a fantastic job. And if you should ever decide to sell, it adds to the resale value in a nice way. Sorry, but Barney would never make any money from me.
You better hang on to your britches MDC. Weather is act right curious all over the place.

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26247: Asa - you're gassed!!

Cold and rainy here in the Ozarks porch - thanking the Lord that the really cold stuff isn't quite here or we'd be having freezing stuff like in KC. Some of my husband's colleagues in the Line Department may be heading that way tomorrow if things are bad.

Our church has a central vac and it is really nice - lugging a hose around is certainly easier than trying to lug a whole machine around everywhere, especially up and down stairs.

No problem on the painting advice, Alyce. I know with all that space any time saving ideas are worth it.

Thanks for the prayers, MDC - I'm sure we all can use them. Prayers for you and the rest of the porchsters from me as well.

Speaking of IMAX's - has anyone gone to one that is spherical, not just flat screened. When I was a teenager, I went to the Kansas Cosmosphere and saw a show about flying. 'Bout lost my lunch. Even with my eyes closed, I would feel like I was free-falling! Eeek!

I thought you all were talking ratio's up there with that Wheat Thin talk - half a box - I ain't never seen a half a box. Sorry - maybe I'm gassed too!

Ya'll never guess what I was eating a couple of hours ago - FUDGE! It weren't cashew fudge, but Maple Pecan Fudge from Silver Dollar City. We went last week on the last day of the year and all their confections were half price. I restrained myself and only bought 2 pounds worth though.

Night all - see you tomorrow.

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26248: Hey AFD, That's what I call getting into the Mayberry spirit. Eating fudge on Tuesady nights. Next you'll be going to the knot tying class. Isn't that on Wednesday nights? I'd go but I have remedial bullet polishing class that night.
So who's going to the Superbowl? I gotta go with the Steeler's in the AFC. The NFC is wide open.

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26249: Morning all..
Muffins and coffee on me!

ASA..that was funny (about the vacuum joke) Actually it was Dixie that started that conversation! Tell me more about the central vac. I am not familiar with that.

AFD: reading your post about the spherical IMAX made me feel gassed!! YUCK!! I'd never make it..

Have a wonderful day!

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26250: Mornin' Y'all! I wasn't on the porch yesterday-hope there's still some fudge left! Think I'll have it for breakfast-yeah! Ha Ha

Gotta go-my lil' Laci is coming to babysit me soon! Ha Ha She rules the roost around here, that's for sure!
Y'all have a great day! It's T-shirt weather in January here on The SC end of the Porch!Hey Rev.Jr.-I had my AC on in my car yesterday afternoon-it's unreal!
possum under a rock

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26251: Sorry Mrs. Wiley, I had to ask. I know that one was a "gimme." It was mainly asked for the younger porchsters benefit, may have been before their time. Possum- ah, springtime in the Palmetto state! Enjoy it now, looks like we'll get back to normal next week. Alyce- my wife and I got a new Oreck for Christmas. I can tell she has me trained right. I won't let her touch it..that's my toy! lol! Asa- I would have said the Eagles were gonna take it, but I just don't know about them right now. I'm kinda hoping that "resting" all their starters recently comes back to bite 'em. Steelers look pretty good right now, but don't ever count out the Patriots. Pipe- what's for supper? MDC- hang in there with that weather. Wish Possum and I could ship you some of our fantastic weather. Morning to Sterling, hazel, afd, md, Ro, Dixie Belle, mary wiggins, Mr. Mac, Uncle Ollie, auh2o, goober, ed sawyer, charlotte, mavis, ky girl and to my good buddy SPOT! (and anyone else I may have forgotten, didn't mean to).

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26252: Yeah AFD, I've been to a spherical IMAX. They were showing a film on rock-climbing. I thought it was pretty boring, actually. I WANTED to see one with flying in it.
Asa, I thought you were kidding with the central vac thing. I had never heard of such a thing. I guess, you put them in the right places and it could make housework a lot easier.

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26253: good morning porch folks. hazel= i like your style of wardening.otis can do alyce's painting? mrs wiley, it's true brilliant minds do think alike. i love coming up with all the what if's like i wonder if barney's kids were wiry or prideful? afd, great to see you back. i love the ozarks. the weather here ice, cold wind and starting to snow but we don't have any outside chores. asa, hope your having a great day. rev jr, we're not having supper in protest, you know like barney locking himself up. ha. i got incoming- got to go. pipeman

January 05, 2005 - Msg 26254: Happy New Year to the porch! Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday! We went down to see my dad in Dayton...then on into Ky for a few. Spent the rest of the time taking it easy, and planning my diet! :-)

Pipe...I'm right there with you on some of the garbage our troops are putting up with. I fully support the rights of all people, everywhere. We're all God's Chillin (and all have Uvulas!), but there is a point and time where "we, the people", stand up for what's right. That means a fight at times...it drives me nutsy to hear some of the bleedin hearts talk about observing the rules of war and geneva convention. Last time I checked, the terrorist that flew the planes on 9-11 weren't observing any rules...the terrorist in Iraq who kidnap and behead aren't following any conventional protocal. That doesn't mean we should abandon all civility...but sometimes you have to think like a fox, know what I mean?!

Ok...have firmly chopped up the soapbox, now have it in the fireplace. We're finally getting Chicager weather in Chicager...not a pretty day, and tomorrow is going to be worse!

Happy day to all...and God bless America!
