March 01, 2005 - Msg 27344: Hey MDC, she's doing pretty well. She's going in for more back surgery later this week. Fusion this time. Hopefully that'll fix her up. She was suppose to go in today but there were some emergency cases that came in so they had to delay Jan's surgery until later in the week.

That is a great photo of the five of you "Mayberry players" on the EBullet!
I bet, just from your pose, that your Floyd is pretty darn right on!
Hang in there,

March 01, 2005 - Msg 27346: Here is a cute Mayberry-like story:

A little boy walks into a drugstore and sets himself on one of the stools at the soda fountain.
"How much does a chocolate sundae cost?" he asks the busy waitress.
"50 cents," she says.
He reaches deep into his pockets pulling out a few coins that he carefully counts.
"How much for just a plain ice cream?" he shyishly asks.
Now a little impatient, the waitress responds with a quick
"40 cents!" After all, she has "more important" customers to wait on.
Again, the boy counts his money,
"Then, may I please have just plain ice cream in a dish?" When she finally brings him the order, he gives her the correct amount.
Later, the waitress returned to clear the boy's dish, and when she picked it up, there were two nickels! She then realized that he had had enough money all along for the sundae, but sacrificed it so that he could leave her a tip!

March 01, 2005 - Msg 27347: Hey everyone...

If ya'll could just keep my and my husband in your prayers...we are trying to make some decisions regarding our daughter's preschool next year..as far as which school to send her to. We need some prayers lifted up for guidance and assurance and to just follow His will. Thanks you fine folks..

March 01, 2005 - Msg 27349: Afternoon HONIES!

Well, it sure is white around these here parts! It is just so beautiful though. Every branch on every tree is coated with snow, and it gets so quiet with all this snow. I guess the snow muffles all the sounds out there. (Did I say snow enough times up there?)

Alyce, I will be praying that you are directed to the perfect schooling situation for your precious daughter.

MDC, I loved that little story! As Jesus said, "Suffer the little children". And when we do, we are always blessed!

Floyd, prayers for Jan and her surgery, may God direct her physician's hands.

Homemaker, I will be praying for you also, may God direct your physician's hands as well. You must be one heck of a lady to go trudging out in the snow and muck to feed that little goat, so you recover quickly for his(her?) sake! As well as the rest of your family! ;)

Hey Asa, how's things at your end of the porch? How's that little puppy you got a while back doing? He must be a full fledged fur-kid by now!

I'll be requesting your prayers for our trip to Oklahoma. We are leaving at daybreak tomorrow, and we could sure use some traveling mercies, (and a mashed penny ;)) as well as God showing his favor on Pat and his artwork. He has worked so hard, and I would love to see him do well. He is a good man!

I guess I won't be posting again for a week or so, while we are away. If you want to check the art show out on line it is natureworks.org Sorry I don't know how to do links! Thanks for all your support everyone!

Have a wonderful Mayberry eve!

March 02, 2005 - Msg 27385: HM- is Curlies BBQ actual bbq or is it a sauce? I don't think we have it around here. Reason I ask is because we are toying with the idea of marketing some "pulled pork" made with our sauce. Lots of logistics to work out yet.

March 02, 2005 - Msg 27386: Homemaker, I think I could go for a bowl of that soup.

I have been soo busy lately.. House, errands...and working on my daughter's birthday party. We are doing a big one and I have put a lot into it.
Anyway..Thanks for all the prayers...
I do feel at peace about this one program that I have already signed her up for and paid for (did this before I asked for prayer)...I had to do that to hold the spot ...there were only four spaces left. But anyway...after all that and rquesting prayer..I called another program..in which she had been on the waiting list since last fall..and they encouraged me to proceed with another school. Their's is very popular and doesnt hold many students and it seems like she isnt going to get into it. So I am at a peace for now...And so excited!

Thanks you guys..

My oh my,Rev.Jr.,the winds sure have been blowing down here haven't they? Thought my rock was gonna blow away the other night!
No Curlies BBQ in my part of South Cackalacky-just thought I'd chime in on that. Rev.Jr.,you got a slot available for me yet? Ha Ha
I'd have to bring Laci with me though, and I hate to tell you how good she is at throwing stuff (like bottles of BBQ sauce, perhaps?) all over the floor! You best think about it!
Well, speaking of work,I don't have Laci today,so that means I do have to leave the rock and head out to my current job,so.. Bye Y'all! Have a good day!

I would love it if you all had the pulled pork RevJr - get it up here to yankee country.

March 03, 2005 - Msg 27405: Spot- I've run across a pretty good chow-chow here. It's called Mrs. Campbell's. I'm at work right now, but I'll check the label when I get home. I think it's a fairly local product. Possum- Laci can't be any better at throwing stuff than my girls. tee hee. And they're 13 & 11. HM- when we do a "tasting" at grocery stores, sometimes we "cheat" and make crockpot bbq. Get a pork tenderloin, put about a quarter of an inch of water in the crockpot, put the loin in, put the setting on low and let it cook for 6 to 7 hours. When you take it out it'll fall apart. Use a fork to shred it to your liking then mix in your favorite bbq sauce. Instant "pulled pork." Gotta run for now, mornin' to all porchsters!

March 03, 2005 - Msg 27406: Morning porchsters! Don't know where I've been hiding again. I've been really really tired lately. Does lack of sunlight cause that? I seem to be really missing the sun and longing for spring! Oh well, not too far off. Spot, I've missed your cooking. Possum, I got a kick out of your talking about your stepdad's earring. Better an 82-year-old piercing in your family than a 12- or 14-year-old in mine! LOL. No, I don't think either of my kids are interested in that. Made a deposit last night for my son to go on a mission trip to Mexico this summer. I'm excited for him. He needs to realize there's a world without electronics! Any advice anyone who has been on a mission trip or who has been to Mexico?

March 03, 2005 - Msg 27416: Charlotte, Boo would be the one to talk to about Mexico as she has gone there several times on mission trips. Maybe she'll find a computer and check in before your son goes.

I've been to Mexico once, but we visited just across the border of California to Tijuana(don't know if that's spelled right). I hated it. Parents had their kids all over the place using them to try to sell you things, besides all the shopkeepers trying to get you into their shops. I don't like being constantly harrassed when I go somewhere. I was glad to get back to the good old USA, let me tell you. Hope your son's not going there to Tijuana; it's one big open-market.

75 degrees MDC?!! You want to send some of that my way? :)

March 03, 2005 - Msg 27417: Thanks for the advice on Mexico. I asked my aunt whose daughter had gone there on mission trips before and she suggested "Have him buy some real vanilla to bring home!" Yea! I am relaxing now!

Catch up later!

March 04, 2005 - Msg 27445: Thanks Rev. Jr.

Good for you, Dixie! You deserve to relax!

I just learned that my parents were in a car accident, on the way out to or coming back from Walmart. They were turning left and some guy smacked into them. They're ok as far as I know. My Dad is home but my Mom is at the hospital with some neck pain I guess. My sister said that they had her in one of those spongy neck things and wanted to do some tests, but said she should probably be home in a few hours after those tests are done.
I know Doctors like to be painfully thorough and everything. But it still worries me though. They aren't exactly spring chickens anymore.
I wish I had a car here to go pick her up when they're done as their car is obviously in the shop now.
I'd like to walk down there with Kai to cheer her up, but I don't know where she would be(having tests or whatnot). And I'm sure she doesn't have a room just being there for tests.
I hate that she is down there alone. My brother is working and my sister has to look after my other brother's(who's also working) 1 year old, so they can't be down there.
So I'm just sitting here waiting for news.
I guess the waiting is the hardest part, as the song goes.
-Sterling Holobyte

Hope you are all doing well and hope to talk to again soon!
