June 30, 2006 - Msg 41876: Yay! I swept!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41877: Morning Warren. Nice sweeping job.

Boo, you really crack me up as you describe your family get together. HA! Do you ever listen to Dr. James Dobb on the radio? He had Chuck (I still feel odd calling a rich man Chuck) Swindolls sister on last week. She delivers a pretty good message her own self.

MDC, You were talking about your studies of Matt. 5. I just love the sermon on the mount. Great lessons taught there that the world could use today. Sorry, I'm sounding a little preachy. I know some folks don't like to come here to be preached to.

Spot, why so quiet?

Back to work for me.

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41878: As long as you don't try to take up a collection, ASA, everythings fine...

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41879: The way you've been sweeping lately, DWF, you might just be awarded the Golden Broom of Good Sweeping, which is stored behind the Golden Door of Good Fellowship.

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41880: Hey Me They and Asa!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41881: Good Morning All!!!

Today is the first offical meeting of my chapter since we joined TAGSRWC. I have to go get ready, then it's a 70 mile drive to the meeting place.

I won't be on here until tonight, I will be here for a few minutes now, though.

How's everyone???

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41884: BWB: Just remember that if they serve that new dessert that's come out since Alaska became a state, you eat it with a spoon.

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41885: Well folks, I'm heading out from work early today. It's the first weekend that it hasn't rained with no soccer, no ballet, no company, no nuthin'. Gosh, I'm looking forward to cutting the grass, playing with the kids, working around the yard, and just generally lounging about. I promised Nora that tonight we can catch lightening bugs (that's fireflies to some of you), so we'll have to stretch bedtime from 8:30 to after 9:00. oh, well, tomorrow's Saturday.

Anyway, I plan on a relaxing, but productive weekend, and fireworks with freinds next Tuesday. We'll see if it all works out. Y'all take care and have a great weekend.

Remember prayer time every night at 8:55 p.m. EST. Be a joiner.

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41886: Your not preachy, ASA! I think I'm the preachy one. You know, I heard that James Dobson broadcast with Lucy Swindoll last week. She is so funny! I heard her speak at a conference in Houston a few years ago and loved her.

Colt, thanks for telling us about 20/20 tonight. I am watching in for sure (better tie a string around my finger).

It is cloudy and rainy here today and my sister has my little girl so I think I will crawl back in bed for a nap (such a rare indulgence)!

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41896:
Ha Colt, see Spot didnt know ya either! I got the info, read the archive, very nice of ya. Thanks. I will tell western site about my alter-ego, Wyatt.
BOO- does Sean KNOW that he is being given reduced amounts? It may help to tell him if not. Also, remind him that JESUS was IN THE FIRE with the three Jewish lads in the old testament! Remember how the king saw FOUR in the fire? So Jesus is not outside looking in, He is right there with us in the thick of it! Neat huh? I think of that often when I am with my mother
MD and all you NC folk for sending your C-130 fire tankers to help with our AZ fires. They are mostly out now.
AUh20, I have an old Goldwater Miller button. You can have it for your collection. Dont get me wrong, I like it, but it would be better in a collection. Do you have my email?
Sermon on the Mt is pretty much all jesus wanted us to know, fullfillment of the law. One good reading of it from time to time is great medicine.
Matt 5,6,7. Some scholars think he gave that talk many times. Makes sense as no TV etc back then.
My dad's bro (now 85) was a B17 pilot. My dad flew the A-20, built as an attack plane, but used as a medium bomber. One time almost all the tail was gone but he brought it back. Got distinguished flying cross! he is now 88 and i am writing down all his stories as he tells me more and more. Great generation indeed!

230 years of freedom, not a bad track record!
Ya all enjoy the weekend of the 4th!

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41897:
Asa- google a-20 aircraft and you will see the one they are restoring. My dad and I saw it 2 summers ago.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41901: To M-T, auh2o, Asa and MDC, I'm glad you find humor in my B.S., P.U. credentials.

To TOM Msg 41781, too bad I don't chew gum, otherwise I'd save my wrappers for your chain. Do you have any idea how long your chain is right now?

To Deputy Warren Msg 41794, somehow I get the impression that no matter what TAGS season you review, it would be favorable. You are a TAGS fanatic. LOL.

Millie Msg 41814, I believe Millie posted her email address in Msg 40175. I suspect she can access it no matter where she is at. I can check all of my email accounts from both the USA and Canada.

Lucy Msg 41837, if your mouth is still hurtin', and medications are not helping, I've got a prescription that should help. It's called Jack Daniels. Drink it straight up.

To Mavis Msg 41847, my prayers go out for your neighbor Mamaw. It seems strange praying for a different kind of answer this time.

To Boo Msg 41859, prayers also go out for the two people you requested.

To Deputy Warren Msg 41900, a hey back at ya.

from Poor Horatio

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41902: Porch friends, Mamaw passed on to the other side this afternoon, while it was expected, the family is devastated, please continue prayers for their healing. Service is Mon.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41904:

Hey DWF and PH. Hope you are both fine. Porch seems kinda empty with Romeena in Florida, but dont Florida seem nice and full.
Spot how about a big dance on your backlot for the Fourth of JUU-ly!?

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41905: Hey MDC. What's that stand for anyway's? Just curious.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41906: Hi porchsters. Stopped over to Sarah's but there wasn't anyone there. I don't have the hang of all this just yet. Can't seem to get on there without being called Guest ####. Also I guess I just use Java cuz I don't know what mIRc is. I sound pretty illiterate for working on the computer most every day, don't I?
Charlotte Tucker

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41907: Mavia, Sorry to hear about Mamaw. Prayers for her family and for you.

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41908: Charlotte when you get in Sarah's you type a name in the box at the bottom to change yourself from "guest" to Charlotte. or type /nick Charlotte & that should do it (unless someone else on the network is using that name already, hope that helps. Don't think I'll be over to Sarah's tonight, think I'll think of the fun times I had with Mamaw & remember all she taught me about canning, gardening & such. Think I'll just have a good cry, for myself, not her, I know she is celebrating & probably talking wiith my mother, her sons & Papaw right now.

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41909: Hey CT,

On Sarah's Diehards if you show up as "guest###" you can then change your nick name. The directions for changing your nick are just below the "chat" window on the Sarah's Page. Just scroll down and you'll see.
If you get in without a nickname, you'll show up as "Guest". To change from "guest" type the following:
/nick (i.e. /nick MrMayberry)

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41910: Hey Mavis...I should have read your response to CT. Sorry. -- Floyd

June 30, 2006 - Msg 41911: Hi, prayers for you and Mamaw's family, Mavis. So sorry for your loss.

MDC, I will certainly encourage Sean with the story of the Hebrew children in the fire and how Jesus was with them..Thank you for the reminder. Yes, he knows that he is getting reduced amounts of the Paxil. Today was a better day for him. He is having some nausea, which is expected, but less emotional today. Thanks for your prayers. (all of you).

It has been raining off and on here all day and expected all weekend. I love it because it cools things down, but the Texas sized mosquitos will be awful in a couple of days.

Hope we hear from Romeena soon.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41919: Mornin' Porch,
Its sunny and hot here today. I'm not sure what our plans are, but we'll have to stay hydrated. The plus is that we get plenty of vitamin D!
Poor Horatio- Thanks for the advice. Being from Ky I prefer Maker's Mark.
Rev- I know most singers the summer is they're busiest time of the year. Is that how it is for you?
Boo- What supplements are you giving Sean to help him with this transition? Have you considered biofeedback?
Mavis- You have my condolences. I was just speaking of my grandmother's not long ago, and it just goes by so fast, doesn't it? Do you have any other living grandmothers or grandfathers? If so, make sure you spend as much time with them as possible.
Warren- So, are you enjoying Sarah's? I have been to busy to join in for the fun.
Charlotte- What are the names of your books that have been published? I am continuously looking for Christian books for my kids, especially my 8 year old.
Asa- Do you use a toolbelt as your career in "real" life?
Things are going okay with the stepchildren. Stepdaughter and I were going to go today to get our nails done and ears pierced (mine grew back), but her Mom said that she couldn't. Its odd, but hubby was allowed to take her by himself in March. Ex is trying to make sure that stepdaughter and I don't bond. Neither of them have any manners, which I'm not used to because Bryson well-mannered. They are continuously picking on Bryson too, but I think that's because they can since he's the baby. Overall, its good for them to be here and later on in life hopefully they'll see what their Dad and I are trying to do for them. Love them.
After my novel I'd better get off of here. Have a wonderful day!
Blessings to you and yours,

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41920: Good morning porch! Lucy, I am enjoying Sarah's! Hey to REV and Asa!

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41921: To Mavis Msg 41908, a big ((((( hug ))))) to comfort you during your time of sorrow.

To Boo Msg 41913, your friend Linda was at death's door not too long ago, and now she's been discharged from the hospital? And people claim the Front Porch is moving too fast! Hallelujah!

Hey folks, with all this talk about people showing up at Sarah's and not finding anyone there, why don't we set up a particular day or two each week to meet there to chat? Each one of us can post here a primary, and secondary day, of the week that they are available. As for me, I can make any day the majority decides on. Anyone interested?

from Poor Horatio

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41922: Iam interested, PH, and I can go to Sarah's most nights.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41923: Afternoon Porch! Not feeling that great this morning, probably mental more than physical. I did have a good cry last night & felt some better. Lucy no other grandparents left for me. All that's left is Dad & trust me, that is not saying much, only time I hear from him is if he thinks there is something in it for him. Best get some dogs groomed, my own kids need it badly.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41924: Didn't see you there PH and Millie most nights are good for me too, just let me know. Oh Millie keep an eye on your snail mail box. :)

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41925: Thanks, Mavis, can't wait. Hey, Warren, I'm so glad you got your answer to the Juanita question.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41927: Millie, did you see my Msg 41901? I made a mistake. I meant to say that Romeema posted her email address in Msg 40175. Oops.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41928: Thanks, PH....just wanted to send her some pics of my brood.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41929: Also, Horatio, sorry I missed you last night at Sarah's. It was a rare thing....I fell asleep before 1am.....I am very well rested today. Maybe tonite?

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41930: Millie, no problem about missing me last night at Sarah's. I arrived very late (11:30pm eastern) and did not expect to see anyone. But Deputy Warren was there and Floyd was just leaving. So I chatted with Warren for about one hour. Maybe if enough people decide to meet at Sarah's on specific nights of the week, we can make Sarah's much more enjoyable.

from Poor Horatio

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41931: Cool, PH....See y'all later tonite. I'm taking the kids to a B-day party, then I'm off to work for a bit.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41932: Afternoon folks. Hope all is well on this July 1.
Mavis, I am truly sorry for your loss hope you are okay. hello to Poor Horatio, DWF, BWB, Millie,
SPOT, CT,Lucy,REV,Colt, Floyd,MDC, Tom,MT,Asa and everyone else. Been busy this Saturday. Hope to see you all later today. Big Maude

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41933: Hey Horatio, I am supposed to get hooked up to the high-speed cable on Thursday of next week so maybe then I can visit Sara's. The only night that is not so good for me is Friday (family night).

Mavis, I am really sorry about what you are going through, wish your dad and sister were there for you.

Lucy, I am not giving Sean any supplements (shame on me), what would you suggest? Last night after I posted, I had a tough time with him. Just when I think things are going smoothly, wham. He was having trouble with insomnia and was worrying himself sick. He has GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and while he was on the Paxil he did real well. Now, the worrying is coming back, along with the stomach aches. He was actually worrying about memorizing his multiplication table and flunking school and school is still almost 2 months away! I pulled out a book I have about kids with Neuro conditions and re-read the chapter on GAD. There was some good info there about how to teach kids to get some relief from it without the drugs. I don't know alot about biofeedback but I know that his counselot does some deep-breathing exercises and tells him to picture a comfortable place in his mind. I am wondering about giving him Valerian but I don't know if it would mix with the Prolixin.

Wonder where BWB is? Maybe working hard this weekend.

I have been busy making 2 cakes for a friend's little girl's birthday party this evening. The kids are supposed to swim but I don't know with all this rain. Well, better get going....

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41934:
Boo, several good supplements for anxiety at HiHealth. I will continue prayer and fasting. Let's pray in agreemrnt that he be healed of gads! EEE gads, thank you Jesus. I can sense his power in these keys as i type!
Are we still praying at 8:30 Eastern?
DWF my MDC is for MR DARLIN'S CUZ. It's not an "actual' character on the show, but Mr Darling had a slew of cousins, and so do I, so decided to use it. (:
PH, imagine tying up a public utility all evening! Ha What's wrong with you people, men are circling the globe...
I saw the band ep last night locally, probably for the 4th weekend. Always a knee slapper.
Band Member: Sorry constable, I was playing it kinda quaint.
Andy: Well, could you "quainten it up" just the least little bit more. And tuck that beard in a bit, the mayor might think...
Andy:(Later) Yes sir, Mayor (COLT), patriotism and perspiration.

Hey there Colt Clanton, us Earps dont take a shinin' to that kind o talk! haha
Well, be safe and have a great weekend.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41935: Boo- I'll ask hubby if he thinks they will mix. Right now he's taken stepkids to do the rock wall and then to Costco.
Michaela and I were supposed to get our nails done and hubby take the boys, but Bryson suddenly came down with a major fever-102, headache, and tummy ache. He seems better now-temp 100, so our nails will have to wait. Instead I'm cleaning the bathrooms-Malcolm Merriweather, where are ya?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41943: Boo- I looked up some things that might help from the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine. First, and I quote, "Perhaps the most significant biochemical distrubance noted in people with anxiety and panic attacks is an elevated blood lactate level. There are at least 6 nutritional factors that may be responsible for elevated lactic acid to pyruvic acid ratio: 1. alcohol, 1. caffeine, 3. sugar, 4. deficiency of the B vitamins niacin, pyroxine, and thiamin (Bryson takes thiamin daily), 5. deficiency of calcium or magnesium, and 6. food allergens. Kava extract has produced relief from anxiety comparable to drugs like valium but without the side effects. Primary treatment methods are: reduce or eliminate the use of stimulants, follow strict diet, and use kava. Eliminate refined carbs from diet, increase the potassium to sodium ratio, eat regular planned meals n a relaxed environment, identify stressors and eliminate or reduce the source, identify negative coping patterns and replace with positive, perform relaxation breathing exercise for minimum of five minutes twice daily, get regular exercise, take high potency multiple-vitamin and mineral formula-flaxseed 1 tblsp daily, and 45-70mg of kava 3x daily." None of these will affect his other meds, according to this book. Hope this helps!

I hope you're doing good, too!!!

Millie, I work wed., Thurs., Sunday, and sometimes Saturday.

A reaturant is a hard buisness to run, and because my parents are elderly, I do most of the running, but it was their dream, so when they bought it, my family and I decided to let it go.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41957: My family is very supportive. They know this is my dream....I love the business, so that helps. Even when it's hard, it's fun.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41958: It's good of you to do that for your parents. You're a good son.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41959: Hey Tom so glad you got them today & you are certainly welcome. I opened 2 of them just to make sure they had the wrappers you needed on them. Lucy and anyone else that needs it, my email address is k9hairdesign@comcast.net I would be glad to give you Tom's address to send wrappers to. Oh and Tom could you email me too? I might need you to come work on my porch, the gutters need cleaning & I can't reach them. haha Just kidding. I'm off to bed folks, I'm tired & I know tomorrow will be a hard day, viewing & funeral for Mamaw, graveside services on Mon.
Sure wish Ro and SugarPlum would check in, they must be having a grand old time.
Night Porch

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41960: Howdy, just checking in before bed.

Finally got back from the birthday party. The kids got to swim, eat pizza and break a pinata.

I am really sleepy and I still have to finish my Sunday school lesson for in the morning. I shouldn't wait until the last minute but things have been so busy!

Thanks for the info, Lucy. I remember reading something about the KAVA. I ordered that book about Yeast from Amazon but for some reason it never made it here. I have read that Magnesium really helps some kids with Tourette Syndrome so I have been thinking of trying it. I had not thought of the Flax seed but it makes sense. Can an 11 year old take the same high potency multivitamins as an adult? I have to do something for him, the poor child has been through so much and has gained so much weight.

MDC, how can I thank you for your prayers for Sean?! You are a good friend. I have started praying for healing for Sean, recently. I really haven't done that in the past but it is getting harder to cope with. God has given us so much grace and strength but it would be so wonderful to see Sean struggling less with all of this.

Hey to Millie and BWB.

Better go finish my lesson for tomorrow. Bye!

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41961: Night Mavis!!!

Thank you Millie. I am an only child, but when they decided to start this buisness, my cousins, and I got together, and most of them thought that it was a bad idea, but they don't spend as much time with their parents as I do. My parents live next door to me. I love them, and love helping them accomplish their dream, and to be frank, I love working at the resturant. We have so much fun. I only work 3 days a week, unless I work on Sat., but, I am there every day at some point or the other. When did you start your resturant, and how did you come about it???

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41962: BWB, I used to work there as a bartender and manager, (my brother is in the kitchen)and I stopped working to stay home with the kids. I always loved the place....it was exactly the kind of place I had always wanted to own....a little neighborhood place, friendly, smallish, with really great food. I kept telling the owner for 10 years that I wanted to buy it. To my surprise, last year he relented...it took a few months to hammer out the details, and during that time they told me my cancer was stage 4...but I went ahead anyway. I couldn't(at this point in my life, with the family and my health)do this if I started from scratch.....too risky. Getting this opportunity was such a blessing. The place has been there 15 years, has always made money, has dozens of regulars that are there several nights a week, I have 5 key employees who have been there 10 years or more.
As you can tell, I really love it.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41963:
Well hello again porch family. Just got in from my concert. It was an outdoors concert and very HOT! Needless to say, I'm pretty tired.

Lucy...yes, summer months are very busy but we also stay really busy all year. (thank God) Of course December slows down for us because churches have so much going on during that month.

Boo...I think you having a "family night" is so great. That is so very important!

Well I better get to bed. I have an early concert in the morning. I'm in Tn now. Prayers for you all and remember Jesus loves us!

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41964:
Mavis...I'm so sorry to hear about your Mamaw. I haven't been able to read all the past archives so I didn't know what was going on.
Prayers for you and family.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41965: Millie: That is great. We have regulars all the time, too. We just took over a few months ago, but it is really jumping. I was never a bartender in the bar part of it, because where it is at, you can't have a bar, and a resturant in the same room. The bar is on one side, then there is a door, then the dining room, and kitchen. It's nothing big, just a small little country place. I love it, though.

Hey to Rev.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41966: Hey, Rev, get some good rest.
BWB, mine is in a seperate room, too. Up two steps with a big window between the two rooms...It's really cool.

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41967: In ours, you have on step, and a door that stays open, to the left, there is a door that stays closed, it leads to the bar, then to the right, there are the store rooms. One for food, two for alchoholic beverages.LOL!!! It is really neat, I am considered the manager, but due to it's small size, we have only 3 on duty, and I am one of them, so I am just one of the waiters. Does your bar have a package store???

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41968: That's *ONE STEP* of course!!! BWB

July 01, 2006 - Msg 41969: We don't do it that way here...you get an ABC license for on or on and off (premises). We do have an off license, but we very rarely sell bottles of wine to go, and nothing else leaves the store except wine. We have a law here that permits taking home an opened bottle, so occasionally someone will come in, have a glass, and take home the rest.

July 02, 2006 - Msg 41970: Mil: What state are you in??? Here, say you come in for a beer, and you got it, and needed some change for the rest of the beer, if you walk out the door with that beer in your hand, you can by law be arrested. 2 or 3 weeks ago, we had one that slipped by our door man with a bottle of Jose Cuervo, and the police dept. tackled him, and hauled him off right out of our parking lot. It is really good, though, because it cuts back on drunk drivers. I've seen the police pull people over right after they leave the parking lot, for driving with an open container. If they wait until they drive a vehicle, they get them on a felony, instaed of just a mistimeener(Didn't spell right).LOL

We don't have to have the ABC liscense, but isn't their beer, and stuff a lot higher than buying it direct from the distributer???

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41971: Y'all are gonna have to stop breaking the porch. :)

I'm not sure what the problem is/was. I'll be out of town and may not have internet access until Sunday so if things break....it'll be broken until I can fix things.

We lost 4 or 5 messages in this so I'm gonna look at the script to see if I can find the problem.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41972: I made a change...we'll see if this helps. --Floyd

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41973: Good morning everyone!

It's those danged spiders, FLOYD! Always crawling on the porch just waiting to bite somebody.

MAVIS: Prayers for you and your neighbor's family. All in His time...

BOO: I know you asked LUCY, but of course I've never been too shy to butt into a conversation. I also suffer from anxiety disorder. Eliminating (or cutting down on) the stimulants helps me, and I take flax seed liquid capsules as well as a multivitamin every day. Ground flax seed also is very good on yogurt. Though its not as drastic as doing away with the caffeine and excess sugar, I believe that it does help. Oh, and watch out for the carbs--that sugar doesn't help, either. In my case, I also am currently taking a medication because my anxiety/OCD went into overdrive last summer. But the doctor seems to think that it's a short-term thing, and that I should be able to get it back down to a manageable level. In any event, Sean is bound to feel the ups and downs as his body gets used to feeling his new "normal." It will get better.

About the Kava, I don't mean to contradict LUCY, but there are some possible adverse reactions and side effects to it that you should read up on before taking it. I'm not saying don't use it, just educate yourself to the possible negatives so you can make an informed decision. I opted not to, but that's me (and remember I have an anxiety disorder! ha!).

Well, gotta get to work.

Little bit of Independence Day trivia: The Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2. The reason we celebrate Independence Day as July 4 is because that is the day word of the document signing was announced. Also, both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the very same day, which happened to be July 4.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41974: Hopefully the change I made will stop the problem. I believe the issue may be that several folks try to post a message at exactly the same time. I corrected the script so that it locks the files as soon as a "message number" is assigned. We'll see if it works at keeping those spiders away.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41975: Thanks, FLOYD. You may not be able to get those sideburns straight, but you're okay at the electronal stuff.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41976: Hey M-T,

We'll see. I don't know for sure this will fix things. Like I said, if it breaks while I'm gone...y'all will be down for a few days. Sorry about that but hopefully we've got 'er if she don't jump. -- Floyd

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41977: Hey to the PORCH! Good to see everybody so "jawy" today! :-)

Been a busy time here in Chicager...lots of things going on, and lots of time spent sittin around watchin Mrs Goober grow! (Don't tell her I said that!). How are we on baby watch here at the porch...any new news on the expected new porchters?

Rev...I've got an outdoor coming up this weekend on Saturday and Sunday...hoping it's not going to be too hot, but really glad to be back and a part of this singing. It's an annual event in Dayton, Oh...it's been 10 years since I've done it...so I'm looking forward to it for sure. I did decide to turn down the label deal...and will work to do an indy...just not sure who, where or when. :-)

Colt, Spot, M-T, Floyd, Mavis, ASA, BWB, Warren, MDC, Lucy, Mil, Boo, RO, TOm...and everyone else...enjoy the holiday and BE SAFE!

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41978: welcome to a hot july 3rd. pray everyone has a safe 4th. goober- good seeing you. is it hot enough for you? having trouble scrolling this page but wanted to checkin. so dang hot the computer wants a break. ha. colt

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41979: Hey Goober, good to hear from you and glad to hear that Mrs. Goober is doing fine.

Me-They, thank you for your opinion. I don't know whay I didn't think to ask you about all this earlier. Being there yourself, I am sure you have have some good advice. Please feel free to share anytime! Sean definitely gets too many carbs in his diet (and sugar). Trying to change his diet for the better is going to take alot of "culinary imagination"! Luckily he likes salads so maybe I can work with that more. Anyway, I am certainly going to try the Flax seed and multi-vitamin as you and Lucy suggested and walk with him to make sure he gets his exercise. He and his dad were supposed to go out for their first fishing trip on the new boat today but we are under a flash flood warning all day.

Interesting trivia about Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, what a strange cooincedence!

I want to tell you something funny that my 4 yr old said yesterday. Remember we had to go to VBS everynight last week and have spent an unusual amount of time in church lately....My little one asked me, "Mom, where are we going tomorrow?"..."Nowhere", I replied. She asked, "Not even to church?"..."No, not even to church", I said. Then as she turned to leave I heard her say quietly, "Thank you, Lord!". Ha, aren't kids great?

Better go.... chores to do!

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41980: Morning Porch! Nice to see the porch working again. Like Floyd said, chatter's, if you want to have a chat you should head over to Sarah's. THAT is the chatting place. This is not a chat room! I'm part of the problem to, so don't think I'm taking it out on anyone! It's my fault to!

Hope you had a nice Canada day Poor Horatio! Hey to Goober! Nice to see ya back on the porch!

Floyd, I agree, Superman Return's was phenominal! I hope they do a few more Superman's! The new Superman, at time's is IDENTICLE to Christoher Reeve, but it's a reffreshing change to!

Boo, who's diet are you trying to change? I am the last person who need's a diet! I'm as skinney as Barney Fife (well, close)!

Hope everyone has a fabulous day, and to the American's have a nice Idependce day tommarro!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41981: Good Morning!!!

I'm not sure what that was. I was in the middle of a conversation with Millie, and it just "BROKE".

Hope all is well.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41982: Arachniphobia. That's what it was.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41983: Hey, BWB, DWF, COLT and GOOBER, and anyone else napping on the porch this afternoon. BOO: No problem.

Just to add to my July 4 trivia above (it's a boring day here at work), Adams and Jefferson became close friends while working on the committee to draft the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Their relationship experienced a serious rift over political issues during Washington's presidency that lasted for many years (and through their own terms). They later reconciled, and started a warm and frequent correspondence that lasted the rest of their lives. Jefferson died in the morning of July 4, 1826, on the country's 50th birthday. Adams died a few hours later. Sadly, his last words were reported to be, "Jefferson still survives." Pretty neat, huh?

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41984: More trivia.....James Monroe also died on July 4th, in 1831.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41985: Also Calvin Coolidge was born July 4th, 1872.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41986: Mil: You know who said that??? Calvin Coolidge said that."

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41987: Hey all!!!

I have a problem, does anyone have time to listen to it, and give me some advice???

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41988: And so began a lifetime's worth of things Calvin Coolidge said...

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41989: Shoot. I won't shoot back.

July 03, 2006 - Msg 41990: Hey all - how's everyone doing?

Prayers for Boo, homemaker, Mavis and Mamaw's family, TOM, and all.

Another little bit of trivia about Independence Day with a TAGS tie-in...Calvin Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872. Thanks for sharing all your historical knowledge with us, M-T. History is one of my favorite subjects. : ) Also, how's the Mrs. feeling this fine day.

Hey to Goober! No new baby girl porchster at my house yet. Glad your Mrs. is doing well. Have you all found out the gender yet?

Just wanted to check in so's ya'll wouldn't wonder too much about me.
Have a blessed day all and GOD bless America!
