March 06, 2008 - Msg 60768: Boo...wow what a challenge rehab must be. Is this what you do for a living? God surely has you in a place for His glory. It is scary how bad things are this day and time. Some kids have take rebellion to a whole new level.

Rev, you getting to ride much lately? Lisa and I are ready for spring and summer to get here. Ride ride ride.

Tom, keep the trivia coming....even you can get one wrong now and again. Still is a lot of fun.

Ro, don't know what breed star is, but thanks to my girls we now have to chihuahua's. Java and Bambi. We also have a pet bunny (Trixie). These pets are like grandkids to us.

Porchsters...Please pray for our Son and DIL who are expecting any day now. We will head to Texas as soon as they call and tell us to come. Lisa and I are excited about being grandparents. I'm thinking about knocking out my teeth and buying false ones to the the bill of being a grandpa. Well, maybe not.

Reckon Ed Crumbpacker has any job openings in Texas?

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60772: I DO NOT WANT TO PLAY NO MPRE

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60773: No Chuck, I don't work at the rehab. I hold a bible study there on Tuesday nights. The girls come if they want, it's not mandatory. They range in age 13-17 and are put there by the state. It's like the last step before actually being incarcerated (although most of them have been at one time or another). This week we had a girl who had been in jail for strangling her 8 year sister in a fit of jealousy. They are tough kids.

Thanks for the encouragment, REV.

Better get moving...

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60774: Good morning, all. Chuck, Starr is a Maltese, same as Sugarplum was. She looks like a little miniature of the Plum, at just over four pounds. You should send me some pics of Java and Bambi and Trixie. We have a "Porchsters' Pets" album, and I'd be happy to post them.

Where in Texas will the new grandbaby be born? If you're in the Dallas area next week, it would be awesome if we could all meet at Babe's for some fried chicken. Eloise and I are supposed to meet Daphne out there one day. We were shooting for this week, but with all the doctor appointments it just didn't work out. Babe's is in the little town of Roanoke, not far from here.

Well, have to see my cardiologist at 10, so guess I'd better be getting in the shower. Poor little Starr, she'll be left again today, and her poor little face will be all wet with tears again when I get home. I know, dogs aren't supposed to be able to cry, but when she's upset, her eyes water and spill over down her cheeks, so I don't know what else you'd call it. Looks like crying to me!

Be blessed, everyone! --Romeena

I BELIEVE IN ANGELS.

Ibelieve I have an angel
God sent to watch over me;
I cannot see or hear her
For she guards me silently.
Night and day she comforts me
And keeps me in her care;
Sometimes I think I hear her voice
Of sweetness fill the air.
I believe I have an angel
God gave to me alone,
To guide me and to keep me safe
Til I'm in my heavenly home.

TOM...rumors abound that we are getting 7 inches of snow today and tonight. I have to travel over a few hills tonight and my truck has low profile tires....not to good on snow. I ask for it and I got it, huh?!!!

Boo..I feel so sorry in one sense for those girls. Something certainly went south somewhere in their lives. I do know that the word of God won't return void. You are doing some good. Even if it seems they are not receiving, you never know what's going on in there tormented hearts.

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60779: Thanks Chuck, you wouldn't believe the backgrounds of most of those girls. I can't even go into most of it because it's not appropriate for the porch, but believe me, it's hard to imagine the pain and abuse. I am coming to the realization from my study and experience there that rehab, as a whole, is not very affective. Most return to the drug after they are out, especially if Meth is their drug of choice. As I can see it, Jesus is the only real solution, not only for salvation from sin, but from addiction. Please remember us in your prayers so we can stay the course the Lord has given us. Thanks.

Brisco--"A perfectly good hoot owl just plain wasted!"

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60781: Oh, Boo, I know some of what you're encountering with these girls. For a year or so, I worked on the adolescent drug rehab unit at my hospital. The unit was finally disbanded, and I went back to regular nursing, but that was quite an experience. A "big penalty" for misbehavior was confinement to their room for an hour or so - and these were kids who had been in jail for assault, prostitution, drugs (of course), burglary, you name it. Imagine the look on their faces when told, "OK, that little outburst just earned you an hour in your room!" Hahaha! What can you do with a kid like that? Not much. You can be kind to them, you can pray for them, but there's not much you can do to modify their behavior.

Well, I just got home from the doctor, he had read the 24-hr monitor I wore last week, and informed me that there were numerous occasions where my heart rate dropped into the 60's, and a couple where it plodded along at 40 for a while, and there was not one single pacer spike to be found. Translation - the pacer is not working, and he doesn't know why. So, I'm off work for a while longer, and will see the pacer doc on Tuesday for some answers. It may have become dislodged, or it may have just failed for some reason. Great. Just what I needed. This will quite possibly mean another hospital stay to get it redone. Argh.

Well, be blessed, all. --Romeena

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60782: Opiemom, I think of Merri Weather often but don't have her email address. Maybe Ro does. Hope she is ok.

Well, you can relate then, Ro. That must have been a very tough job!

Sorry to hear about the pacemaker. Hope it will be an easy fix and not require another hospital stay.

We are having some really severe weather here right now, with hail and possible tornados. I picked up Erin early from school and we are staying in the house.

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60786: Well howdy Porchsters! Seems like it's been a month of Sundays since I been able to rock on the porch, took me a while to read the archives too. So good to see everyone! homemaker I am so sorry to hear about your fire & the babies you lost, I know it hurts to lose any of them.
I have MerriWeather's email addy & I will email her as soon as I get finished posted. Boo prayers for you & for those girls in rehab, I'm sure I couldn't do what you do! Sterling prayers for you & your family as well with everything you are dealing with. I have to say, when you posted about the "loud" preaching, I had to smile, my Grandfather was one of "those kind of preacher's" I remember him as such a gentle, kind man, very quiet at home & pretty much didn't say much unless he had to say something, but put him in that pulpit & it was a whole 'nother story! I remember as I got older & could understand more, the first time I saw him preach, with those veins sticking out & his necktie all loosened up marching up & down the aisle, it scared me to death! I mean, he looked like my beloved Papaw, but it sure didn't sound like him! I must have been about 6 years old at the time. I loved that man dearly & losing him had a huge impact on my life. He was a Free Will Baptist.
Tom we got some of that snow you got as well, & I was right there with you wanting it to go away.
Well, it may be a few days before I get back to the porch, I go to the oral surgeon tomorrow morning to have my last 7 teeth cut out, I am a nervous wreck about it, I hate going to the dentist & being put under kind of scares me with my HBP, so I'll take any prayers ya'll want to offer. I'm sure Mr. Neff will appreciate prayers as well since he is the one going to be taking care of me. I'll try to post as soon as I can, even if it's only to say I'm ok & I lived through it.
Best get off here & hit the old bathtub, got lots to do before tomorrow gets here.
Blessings to you all!

The good thing about being put under, is that before you know it, it will over and you get to go home.

Romeena, it's terrible that you have to go through that again. Hopefully they will get it done right this time.

March 06, 2008 - Msg 60789: Oh, Sterling, that's not very good news, is it? I'm sorry, and sorry for your wife, that she's having to deal with this. His illness is bad enough, but all the drama and emotional issues don't help one bit.

Thanks, Mavis, I sent an email as well. I sure hope Merri is okay. I'm concerned about Poor Horatio as well. We haven't heard from him in quite a while, either. In fact, we have a lot of folks who have gone missing. With the serious discussions we've had lately, I hope we haven't turned anyone away. If so -- please forgive us and come on home!

Mavis, prayers for you and that dental procedure. That does NOT sound like fun! I'm so glad you have Mr. Neff there to look after you.

As for me and my pacer, it's possible that it won't have to be redone, though I doubt it. If it does, then it does. One day at a time.

Well, guess I'll go and cuddle little Starr. She has been so good this evening, sweet little baby. She was truly a gift from God - I needed her.

March 07, 2008 - Msg 60791: Rev, I'm not sure what the average is, my son who is a runner has a consistent heart rate in the mid to upper 60s. Drs. and nurses alike all comment on it. So I assume a normal rate would be higher. Plus it should be fairly consistent.

Opiemom

March 07, 2008 - Msg 60792: Hey REV, "normal" kind of depends on the individual when it comes to heart rate. Like Opiemom said, athletic tyes can function fine with a lower heart rate. When I was young mine stayed between 50 and 60 and I was just fine but most folks would feel tired at that rate. If it's below 50, it would be a rare individual that felt fine. Clinically, average heart rate (resting) is 70 for men, 75-80 for women. Tachycardia is 100, Bradycardia is under 60 but most don't have symptoms unless it's lower than that.

Hey MAVIS! Good to hear from you and prayers for you and Mr. Neff. You are going to hate me for this, but I have never had a cavity. The only real dental procedure I have ever had was having a couple of teeth extracted when I was 7 (to help the others to grow in nice and straight). I am certainly blessed in that area.

CHUCK, you are so young to have already had a bypass and stints. Bless your heart. Do you have a family history of early heart disease?

Sterling, so sorry about your father-in-law. That is very sad.

Better get Erin going. It's actually cold here this morning! We never got really bad weather yesterday but when that cold front blew in, wow, that wind was something and the sky turned black. I loved it. I don't know if it's like this where you all are, but it gets so warm down here that when a cold front pushes into the area and hits that warm air, it can get interesting. Nature makes a big show.

March 07, 2008 - Msg 60795: Good morning, all. Hope everyone had a good night's rest. I did. Starr didn't wake me up to go potty, not even once, but when I did wake, she was standing there staring at me with hopeful big brown eyes, and seemed pretty happy to be lifted off the bed and put on her little pad. She's sorta trying to be good, anyway. I'm just grateful that she DOES wake me when she needs to go, and doesn't wet the bed. We would have to have a meeting about that!

REV, you got good answers to your question about heart rate. As Boo said, it varies with individuals. My own "normal" is in the 90's, because the radiation treatments I received in 1979 caused some scarring to my lung on the upper right. Therefore, my exchange of air is somewhat diminished, and my body has compensated for that by speeding up my heart rate. If there's not as much oxygen in the blood, then just deliver more blood. Pretty simple.

I have two basic sets of problems with my heart. The first is mechanical - bad valves (would take surgery to correct), narrow aorta (not much can be done about that), and slightly weaker muscle (can be helped a little with medication, which I do take). The other problem is electrical - the "firing" impulses are impaired, don't always get through. Medication helps that to some degree, but doesn't cure. I was having episodes of my heart rate dropping into the 40's, and believe me, at that point you could easily believe you were dying, especially if you're compensated to a faster than normal rate. Thus, they put in the demand pacer, supposed to kick in whenever my own firing drops below 70 - it should start firing at 70 beats/minute (bpm) and keep me going. Ideally, I wouldn't even be aware this was happening.

It worked for about three or four weeks, then apparently, for some reason, it has quit, which explains why I started feeling so bad agan. And no, my pacer is not one of those involved in the big recall. At least not so far. Maybe there'll be another recall???

Oh well. I'll do whatever I have to do to get fixed. I have things to do, places to go, people to see, as the saying goes. Will see the pacer doc on Tuesday, and should learn more then.

Be blessed, everyone. --Romeena

March 07, 2008 - Msg 60797: Hahaha! Yes, MDC, the tree is down, and safely stored away. My friend Eloise came over one day and helped me get all the ornaments off (there are about 500), and my son came a few days later and tied it up and wrapped it for me and put it in the closet. No way could I have done that. What would we do without friends and family?

Wasn't that massacre in Israel awful? At a rabbinical school, no less. With all the hatred and terrible things that are being done, one thing keeps playing through my mind, like a sign running across a marquee - "I will bless them that bless thee, and will curse them that curse thee." This was God, speaking to Israel. I think we had better be very, very careful where we, as a nation, position ourselves with respect to Israel. To me, it's very simple. God referred to the Jews on many occasions as His "chosen people", and my Jesus was a Jew. That's good enough for me. I really don't want to be part of any anti-Semitic activity, not as a nation, and certainly not on a personal basis. I think God made his position abundantly clear. Whether it's a political system waging outright warfare, or a single citizen making hateful remarks, God is not going to take it lightly, nor ignore it. Those Palestinian terrorists are going to regret what they've done.

Well, I think I feel a nap coming on. Peace, friends. --Romeena

Hope all is well this Friday evening. I worked 1/2 day today and then did the grocery shopping and came home and cleaned house, did some laundy. I am one tired woman about now.

Dinner will be: grilled burgers, baked beans, home fries, SLAW and brownies for dessert. Tea to drink.

Everyone please say a special prayer for one of our local 8th grade girls. She had to be flown to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in Nashville about 2 weeks ago and remains critically ill. She apparently came down with Strep throat, the flu and a viral infection at the same time. She has been in a coma induced state for several days now. The doctors are very concerned about a Yeast infection that has developed due to some of the machine tubes she has. She is a very special young girl. Her family has a very strong faith and would appreciate your prayers. If you are interested you can read about her at this website:

It is good to see everyone. MAVIS hope you are feeling okay. Maybe some potato soup would be good about now.

You're in Indiana, right homemaker? Wow, a blizzard? We're just supposed to get some bitter cold up here. Which I can attest to; Kai and I went for a walk a couple of hours ago, and we came back pretty quick.
I don't know which I would rather have, bitter cold, or a blizzard. Since I am sick of shovelling, I would probably choose the cold, I guess. Besides that, we don't have any more room to put the snow.
Hope your blizzard dies down pretty quick.

Ro, I know you are off playing Bunco(whatever that is), but I was just wondering if you received my email? I didn't get the dreaded mailer "demon" so was wondering if everything came through ok. If you get a minute, just let me know sometime.

I'm sorry for my AWOL business I've been attendin' to. I'm tellin' you my life has been more crazy than ever. For being a stay at home Mom, I spend very little time at home! I'm quite tired of all the running. I'm not sure that I'm ready for school to get out because the boys will constantly be here, however, I will enjoy spending less time on the road. I don't know if I told y'all, but I spend 3 hrs/day on the road in carpool lanes only-no errands. Anyway, sorry that I'm not being regular-like. I didn't run away from intense talk or anything. I love y'all too much to do that. Plus, I really spend little time on the topics y'all spend time on, except for the Vicks and Miracle Whip discussions.
I'm SO glad that TAGS started over again on TVLand. Okay, who can stand that stinkin', disgusting, "reality show" High School Reunion? I'm so sick of TVLand's 80s movies. Come on! Anyway, I do so love the black and white shows.
Y'all were talking about missing porch members and I was listening to classic country music the other day and heard John Conlee and that made me think of Barneywannabee. He really loved John Conlee and his girlfriend had some issues. BWB makes me think of Deputy Warren Ferguson, DWF. I wonder how he's fair up in B.C. Poor Horatio may be Canada too. As Homemaker is getting a blizzard, so is KyGirl. I hope she's okay.

Several choices will come up, but find the National Anthem and click. You'll be glad you did. I may have mentioned this before - if so, please forgive. If not, check it out. They are awesome!

Well, need to go cuddle Toye Starr. Her little face was all tear-wet again when I got home. I sure do hope she gets over that, poor little baby.

Be blessed, everyone. --Romeena

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60815: Sterling, I'm so sorry. Yes, I did get your email, the pictures came through fine. I meant to answer you and something came up and it slipped my mind. That happens a lot these days. I'll get your pics in the album tomorrow, and Chuck, I'll get yours in there, too. Just haven't gotten it done - no excuse. Sorry, guys! --Romeena

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60816: I'm with you Tom they can keep all that snow...my brother is an OTR truck driver & he called to tell us he was stuck somewhere near Cincinnati, OH & he was staying put until they told him he could go. He is not real happy since he was supposed to be back here in Bristol tomorrow. But, better safe than sorry. Spot thanks for taking care of me & my gums, that blender-ized steak was good! Lucy so good to see you, we was getting ready to put out an APB for ya! Glad things are well, if not tiring, for you. Rev & Spot race is here next weekend, on my birthday no less! Guess between my teeth being pulled & all those race fans in town, we'll have to put off my birthday dinner in Red Lobster, huh? Oh well, that's what happens when you live in Bristol. I'm gonna get off here for a bit, been lazing around all day & I'm not the least bit tired, so off to play bingo or put some puzzles together. Blessings to you & yours,
Your toothless resident porch dog groomer....

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60817: Didn't see you there Ro didn't mean to rock on yer toes, it's a good thing you hold little Starr in yer lap, around here, she might get rocked on & she's too little for that! I almost forgot to tell Spot watch out down there at that lake, there's carps in there & you know what they say about carps....
*Mavis

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60818: No apologies necessary, Ro. Much like Floyd and the porch, you keep that site up for us for free, so we can't complain. Don't rush. Whenever you get time is fine. I'm sure Chuck, and the rest of the porch, would tell you the same.
Glad you had fun last night.

I know what you mean, Lucy. If that reunion show was "made for TvLand" as they claim(I thought I saw it playing on another network some time ago - didn't watch it, but remember seeing it in passing) then TvLand has REALLY gone downhill.

Hey Mavis, glad you came through the dental surgery ok!

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60819: Prayers for Erin Page. Thanks for sharing about her, Maude.

Stay warm and safe, Homemaker!...send some of that chili by FedEx, will ya?

Good to hear from you, Lucy! Sorry life is so hectic for you (I certainly understand). We can talk about VICKS and Miracle Whip if you want. "I like 'em".

Yep, Ro, you mentioned the Cactus Cuties before, but after spending the evening with the church ladies, we expect you had a bit of the "elixer" in you...hehe. Did you sing "Toot, toot, Tootsie"?....Uh, about Starr, I know this is probably out of the question, but have you ever considered getting another Maltese to keep her company when you are working? Would two be too difficult to handle?...just a thought.

Mavis, glad you are feeling better.

I took the kids to the movies last night to see "College Road Trip". It's a G-rated Disney movie and I thought it was cute. Erin got a little bored with it but I certainly did laugh out loud a few times, and it was very clean. Absolutely no bad language or innuendo.

Lucy mentioned the reality show on TVLand. Yuck! I watched a few minutes of it to see what it was about and it was terrible. I saw something the other night that really shocked me and I think it was on TNT. I just have basic cable so I didn't expect to see nudity early in the evening, but as I was searching for something decent to watch (and luckily the kids were out of the room at the time), I saw a man without a stich of clothes on (from the back). That wasn't the worst of it, either. I can't tell you what happened after that but it involved Holly Hunter and it was a new show called "Saving Grace". I was shocked, to say the least because the content was absolutely R-rated. Made me mad. I am going to have a talk with Bruce about getting rid of the cable and just buying certain shows, like MDC suggested. Hope he will be open to the idea because I don't want the kids coming across things like that. It makes me mad.

Well, off to do some chores. Supposed to be a beautiful sunny day here.

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60820: We have about 12 inches of snow on the ground and more snow coming today. About the chili Boo - sorry, not even the fedex guy can get through.

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60824: Good morning, all. Chuck and Sterling, your pictures are in the album. Friends, you will want to check these out.

Good grief. I don't believe what I'm seeing on TV right now. Maybe this has been around for a while, but it's new news to me. Did y'all know there is some rather serious discussion about building a trans-Atlantic tunnel? From America to England, no less? The cost is estimated to be in the trillions, and of course we all know it will be at least twice what they predict. What comes after trillions? Bazillions? I hope before they begin anything like that, they'll survey the citizens of both continents, to find out if the thing would be used. Personally, I wouldn't get on a train and travel 3,000 miles beneath the ocean (for pete's sake!) for all the world's wealth. I just don't have that much faith in construction technology. And then, there's the little matter of undersea earthquakes, which most definitely do occur. And shifting tectonic plates? I know, they shift in increments of millimeters a year, but it adds up. Nope, ain't gonna happen. I'll fly over that ocean, but I won't burrow under it. What will they think of next?

Guess I'll go rustle up some lunch. Anybody want to join me for leftovers? --Romeena

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60825: Good Afternoon porch friends! I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but it's morning for me, I just got up a little bit ago (12:40pm) I was up most of the night with my mouth hurting waiting for the time I could take another pain pill it seemed, finally I guess it was around 5:30am the last time I remember looking at the clock & I just fell off I reckon. They want me to sleep propped up until the bleeding possiblities are gone & I think that & the pain was a big reason I couldn't sleep. Oh well, I did finally get some sleep, but feel like I wasted most of the day.
We got a little bit of snow, but mostly real cold winds here. Hope you don't get too much of it Tom you're like me, your bones hurt too much when it's cold. Stay warm my friend. My brother called my dear hubby this morning & said they had gotten 15 inches so far at the truck stop & it was still coming down pretty hard. He's fussing, but at least he is safe & he's in a place that has showers & food. Sterling how is your FIL? Any more news? Well, best get off here & check some email, I'll be back in a bit. Tom as soon as I get to feeling better, I'll get you some more gum wrappers, right now, I don't feel like doing much but lay around. Ro I forgot to say I hope things go well with your pacer & they can find out what the problem is without putting you back in the hospital. Bless you all my dear friends.

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60830: Hey, all. Just thought I'd check back in and say that I don't think any of us are going to have to worry too much about that trans-Atlantic tunnel. Earlier, I was just half-hearing the TV from the living room. While I ate lunch, I re-wound the program and watched it. First of all, if the project is ever attempted, it will take decades to complete, so that will leave most of us out. Second, it's not a "dug out" tunnel - it's envisioned as a hollow tube, suspended in the water in the ocean. The trains theoretically would make the trip in about an hour, New York to London, traveling at about 5,000 mph. Now that's fast, underwater! (heehee) That includes time for controlled acceleration and deceleration, to counter the G-forces.

The trains would be magnetically powered, and when powered, would not be in contact with the rails at all. The bullet train in Japan already travels by this method - they call it mag-lev, for magnetic levitation. Also, the tunnel, or tube, would be a vacuum tube to eliminate the friction of air pushing back on the train as it moves forward. It all works in theory, but it's going to be a long time coming, if it ever comes at all. And I still wouldn't get in it.

Guess I'll try to scratch up the energy to go clean my kitchen, before the board of health shuts it down. I just don't feel like doing anything. I hate this! --Romeena

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60831: Don't worry Mavis - I ain't going nowhere! Me, the woodstove, two children who ain't fighting :), and a roast in the oven!

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60833: Thanks to each of you for praying for Erin Page.

She is holding her own now which is good news.
She is still a very sick young lady. I do not understand how these infections just invaded her entire little body and caused her to be in this critical condition. It is amazing that one young girl can bring so many people together in a common prayer.

Cold windy and snowy here today. no acculumation around here but not worth going outside today.

Dinner will be: vegetable beef soup, grilled ham and cheese, pickle spears, hot fudge cake and tea or kool aid to drink.

take care and blessings to all

You guys are GREAT!

Wow, Kai is adorable! It is so nice to finally see a picture of her. Thank you for sharing them, Sterling, and you are a very nice-looking man, too.

Wish all you cold people could be where I am. It is the most gorgeous day. Sunny and cool. Unfortunately haven't been doing much besides laundry and taking care of kids. I have had all the windows open and put clean, freshly-washed linens on the bed. Can't wait to crawl between the sheets...too bad we have to get up an hour earlier in the morning due to DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME! Don't forget to set your clocks forward.

I wanted to let everyone know, I finally got an email from Merri Weather she is fine, but her hubby took bad sick and spent some time in the hospital ICU & she took the kids & stayed with her parents for a while. They are back home now & he is on the mend. Not sure of the particulars, but it must have been pretty scary there for a while. At any rate, she says to tell everyone hello & she will be back as soon as she can, oh & Boo she also says to tell you, she owes you a story! Keeping her hubby & her family in our prayers would be a good thing for us to do.
I'm off here for a bit, I have a mouth-watering, super filling, can't wait to have it cup of boullion waiting for me for supper! sheesh, can't wait to have real food again! I'd even welcome some of Miss Emma's soup she didn't want! ;)
*Mavis

March 08, 2008 - Msg 60838: Thank you so much, Mavis! It is wonderful to hear about Merri Weather, but so sorry her husband has been ill. She does owe me a story and how sweet of her to remember. Got to love her. Hope she is able to get back to the porch soon and prayers for her husband's continuing recovery, bless his heart.

Ya'll pray for Sean, please. His Tourette symptoms are starting to get bad again and he is doing some jerking and noise-making again. He told me tonight that he is afraid to go to church tomorrow because he might not be able to control it. I will be calling the doc on Monday to increase his med or start something different.

Better get this kiddos into bed. God bless the porch!

Spot....yep brother, I'm home for a week now. Are you gonna make it to the race tomorrow?

Well I'm going to hit the sack....Prayers for all the porch family. Jesus loves you!

March 09, 2008 - Msg 60840: Good evening, all. Hey, be sure to check the new picture in Chuck's group, too. There's a good picture of his son there now, and a little bonus in the form of one person in the picture with him. It's pretty cool.

I am SO glad to have a word from Merri, and certainly her husband will be in my prayers. Sure have missed that girl, she's always such a bright spot on the porch.

Well, dadburn it, Boo, it looks like Sean can't buy a break. I sure do wish that Tourette's thing would go away and leave that child alone.

Mavis, would you care for some peanuts? Potato chips? A jawbreaker, perhaps? (heehee) Sorry - couldn't resist. Bless your little heart, this too shall pass.

Well, guess I'll hit the hay. Church time is going to come around earlier in the morning. Gosh, I sure hope this extra hour of daylight doesn't upset my roses! :-)

Be blessed, everyone! --Romeena

March 09, 2008 - Msg 60844: Yep, Ro, I wish it would go away, too, and am still hoping. At least it doesn't seem to be as bad as it used to be and I am so thankful he doesn't say bad words like some people do with Tourette's! I decided to stay home with him through sunday school and we will just go for the church service and sit in the back so he can get up if he needs to. It's tough when he is in a situation in which he has to suppress the tics because they seem all the worse.

The weather is nice this morning. Not cold, just pleasant. I love it when you don't have to bundle everyone up to go to chuch (my sympathies to those of you who do).

Mavis, someone mentioned getting an email from Asa recently and he is ok.
