April 20, 2012 - Msg 88306: Good morning, All!

Wow....*cricket sounds*....seems I am all alone here on the good ol' porch.

I thought I would get your opinions on something...Have you ever really notcied just how different Andy is from the earliest episodes to midway to deep into the colored ones? It's like it's not the same guy. Almost feels like they are brothers instead of the same person. From "Aww, shucks, Bar-neee." to "Where's the boy!!" I would really love to sit down and ask Andy Griffith why did Andy Taylor take such a harsh turn in character? I know after a couple of seasons Andy shed the "country bumpkin" image and played more straight to Don. But Wow...WHAT a turn!

What do y'all think?

Well, better git up on outta here! A wonderful and safe Friday to you!

April 20, 2012 - Msg 88308: Hi, JM. About the only answer I can offer to your question about Andy's demeanor as Opie got older is that it's pretty much normal. Raising teenage kids could make Glenda the Good Witch turn grouchy, at times. Financial stress (which was addressed in a couple of episodes), plus the general goofiness of teenagers, a few signs of aging in himself, the disappointment of missing out on what could have been a great job, temperamental fits by Helen, contending with the good-hearted but inept Warren - all of this could make a happy man grouchy at times. I think all in all, Andy was happy, but he had his moments, as we all do. I think he just got tired at times.

Just my thoughts --- Romeena

Howdy porch family....Had a great day today helping my daughter at her work. They had a senior olympic games today so I helped make sure everyone was safe during the events. They had a mile walk that they wanted me to help on. My daughter asked me to go with a 75 year old man. Guys I'm in pretty good shape as for as walking and exercise.....but what she didn't tell me was this man is a former long distant runner. I think she did it on purpose. I did everything I could to keep pace with him for the mile. He accually broke the event record today. This man could flat out move. Of course my daughter had a big laugh at me for being showed up by a 75 year old. I stayed right with him but I kept thinking that he would have to slow from this pace soon....but he didn't. We were "smoking" the whole mile:)

Leave out in the morning for concerts. Want be back in until Monday morning so ya'll behave while I'm gone.

April 20, 2012 - Msg 88313: Well Rev, had he got to far ahead of you, you could have stole his walker. :) JK, That's a neat story.

MDC, you ask why Andy was trying to run a laundromat. He didn't wanna be known as Tailor Taylor.

J.M. I read somewhere once that Andy was getting tired of the show into the 4th or 5th year. In fact I believe the reason Don Knotts left the show was because Andy was about done with it. But he (Andy) got another contract and went on for a few more seasons. But his heart just didn't seem to be in it, did it? He even mentioned he was showing up unprepared with his lines. So I suspect that may have been a good part of his demeanor in the color episodes. And boy, it started right off too. The first color episode was when Opie was late for dinner (using the line you alluded too 'where's the boy"). He really seemed menacing when he was in Aunt Bee's face. I know he was supposed to be angry in that episode, but he just seemed to take it to far compared to the early episodes of the show. But I never considered the "Helen factor"! Could have been after putting up with her for a couple of years his whole outlook soured. I know mine would have. LOL I'm sorry. I don't mean to be hard on Helen. She could be quite pleasant at times. But the dark Helen showed up too many times for this boy. :)

Lucy, I sure will keep you and your family in my prayers. Sorry things are not going so well.

When's Boo due back? I hope she didn't fall in that river and wash away.

April 22, 2012 - Msg 88318: No Asa, I didn't wash away. :) I'm back and I have sure enjoyed reading what I missed. You people are hilarious. Asa, I about spit my tea when I read that thing about REV and the walker.

Asa, you know I am right there with ya as far as Helen is concerned. She could make any man cranky.

Well, we had a lovely little vacation and ended up staying an extra day. We were staying at a place called 7 Bluff and were in a lovely new cabin in a grove of Pecan trees near the river. I don't know how it could have been any better. The weather was cool, though, so it took some courage to swim in the river, but once you took the plunge things were fine. We only tubed one day, Ro, and the river was low enough that you had to walk quite a bit, unfortunately. I slipped and fell a few times on the slippery rocks and fell up a dam, if you can picture that. I also sat back into my tube and flipped over completely backward with my feet in the air. Not fun. The kids got a good laugh, though. I did not enjoy the tubing much, needless to say. I am getting to old and fat for such tom foolery! ;)...and so is Bruce. I did enjoy just being on the river again, though and we got to swim in some of the deeper areas. We mostly relaxed, had cook outs, fires in the firepit, sat outside and enjoyed watching the deer and wild turkeys and quite a specatular fire fly display each night. It was lovely. :) BUT back to reality. Church tomorrow and then washing all the clothes and towels we used.

I am tuckered out so off to bed I go, just wanted to check in with my porch family. I share more tomorrow.

Love,
Boo

Lucy, so sorry to hear your family is troubled. I'll also offer a prayer.

John Master, I also noticed the drastic personality change of Andy Griffith during the run of TAGS. During the first year, he seemed to be just like the Will Stockdale character he played in the film No Time For Sergeants. I remember reading on the internet that at one point, he realized that he was not like one of the funny characters of Mayberry. So he altered his Andy Griffith character to become the straight man for those other funny characters. He believed this change made the show even funnier.
As for the later color episodes, I can't explain why he changed again.

SPOT, good to hear Miss Sherry is feeling better.

Did ya cook over the fire? Ya know a fire started the pioneer way cooks food alot faster than one started the regular old way! Ya didn't have wack Bernie did you! I bet all the "KIDS" missed you, they were baaahh baaahhing all over the place,(That's goat talk for "We miss Grandma"). Bet the whole funny farm was glad to see you back! I suppose you guys brought some Lake Looms back, Bernie would be glad to have some cusins honking around the farm, maybe he just needs some of his kin folk to keep him company. A man does not live by hens alone!
Possum, are you learking somewhere out there? Have not heard from you latley..Hopefully everything at the Cracker Barrel is going ok for you, and the shooting up my way was not going to spread to the other Cracker Barrels. This was a lesson to all..."If you are going to tell your husband that you are leaving him, DON'T do it at a Cracker Barrel". The whole thing was very sad, the other daughter that survived is still fighting for her life @ the hospital..Enough doom & gloom. On a lighter note, I went to the flea mkt. Friday and got a old Army helmet and i'm gonna make me a Barney "Check-point Chickie" helmet for my collection...Goober Fife...

April 22, 2012 - Msg 88323: WHO YOU CALLING GRANDMA, G-F!!!....just kidding...I wish I was a real grandma but not quite yet. Yes, the goats heard me walking back towards the pen and went crazy. Should have seen them. They were ready for me to come home and let them out for some fresh grass. Bernie even behaved himself and is out scratching around for bugs.
Yes, we cooked on an outside grill with charcoal and it was some might fine eatin'. I had a couple of T-Bone steaks that I marinated for 2 days and Bruce grilled them.. It was the best steak I ever ate. We also grilled some sweet corn and had baked taters. Watermellon for desert...good eating for sure. We cooked some burgers that were really good, too on that grill, and hot dogs of course (can't camp without having dogs one night).

After we had been home for a bit yesterday, my sister came over and she and Sean went to walmart. On the way back, they saw three puppies that someone had dumped on the side of the road and one of them had already been hit by a car and killed. They pulled over and were able to get one of the pups but one ran and hid and they never could get it. So, we have a puppy here that Erin is getting very attached too and I am getting more and more nervous. I am trying to find him a good home but it is hard to find. The pup looks to be a chocolate lab/ bird dog mix of some kind. He is that brown lab color with some white and speckles mixed in on his legs. Very timid and seems like he may have been mistreated. Really didn't want to deal with this and I am afraid it is going to pick up Parvo here since my pups had it a year ago. I wish people would be responsible and not make others suffer for their cruel ways but I guess that is the way it is in this world.

So sad about that family at the Cracker Barrell, G-F.

Lucy, forgot to say I will pray for you and your family. Hang in there and stay focused on the Lord.

April 23, 2012 - Msg 88324: Welcome back home Boo. Glad you had a good time and all. I'm sure it was good for Bruce to get away also. Any word on his job?

G-F, I wnet to a flea market once but the only thing I picked up was fleas. I wonder what causes that?

Tom, I'll sure add Reresa and her Mom to my prayers buddy.

Well as usuall I'm running behind. We typically don't need to worry about A/C around these parts until late May or even mid June some years. But this is an odd year. We got up to 86 yesterday. Set a new record. I loved it, but of course I get to work this morning with a long long list of complaints about folks wanting their A/C units going.... rat now! So I reckon the next few days I'm gonna be doing that. Never mind they are saying by the end of the week it's supposed to be 60 for a high. Then they'll be crying about being to cold. I tell ya, these in between seasons can wear a body down in my line of work. Do you feel sad for me yet? :)

Gotta get. Prayers for all.

April 23, 2012 - Msg 88326: Good morning, Everyone!

Well, the wife, FIL and I had a fishing date all set for last Saturday, but it got snuffed out by the temperature that felt like bottoming out here in Independence, Mo. Was going to go drop our lines in the ponds at the old Confederate Home Park in Higginsville, MO. but...guess we'll have to reschedule. Then...my FIL and G'ma-IL had been fighting their utility bills something awful for the last couple of months. My wife figured out why! As we were over there this weekend, my wife noticed a musty smeel coming from their basement door, when she opened it up, it was WAY worse and very strong. She went downstairs and noticed the hot water heater had sprung a bad leak and the basement floor was a babbling brook all the way to the drain. The bottom of the heater was all rusted out too. We got the water to the heater and the gas turned off and figured that THIS is why they couldnt catch up on their utility bill! My G'ma-IL doesnt ever go downstairs and my FIL is somewhat disabled and cant go up and down the basement steps. So no one goes down there! Just as my FIL was going to get his car tags paid off, which had lapsed due to a bad financial crunch, then this happens! I'll tell ya'...when it rains, it pours! My FIL is getting depressed over a couple of health issues, his mother having the starting stages of dementia and their finances are a dry well.

I also read that Andy had kinda run his course with the show and was thinking of getting out, but there are a lot of stars that have done that, but the character they played stayed the same. I dont think I can agree with Andy Taylor's demeanor coming from Andy Griffith's attitude or unhappiness because the writers would have had to have incorporated his attitude into the script. Lines like "Where's the boy?!" and, did you notice that Andy mumbled and talked to himself, when he never did it in the black and whites until....right before they went to color? You can correct me if I am wrong about this, but I swear I read that Andy PICKED Jack Burns personally to play his deputy. Seems like he saw Jack Burns doing a comedy routine somewhere (where Jack was also doing the "Huh,Huh,Huh" routine) and Andy thought it would be a good bouncing off to his Sheriff Taylor.

REV. - Hope your trip went well and you had a safe travel!

Asa - Tailor Taylor....LOL! That's classic! Hey, remember the NFL Draft starts THIS Thursday! Very, very strange for the Raiders I imagine! No Al to pull the trigger on those picks!

SPOT - Good to hear Miss Sherry is rolling along!

Prayers for Teresa and Lucy! Hard times can fall VERY hard I know. Keeping a good thought for you both!

Goober-Fife - You gotta get the goggles and huge gloves or else it wouldnt be a real Checkpoint Chickie collection!

Boo - Mmm boy, sounds like mighty good eating! Hope the trip gave you all a chance to unwind and forget things for awhile! I hope you made sure that the tv repairman was let in, someone got your books to the hospital and all of the papers were graded! LOL! So glad to hear you guys got to laugh and have a good time!

Time to scat, I believe. Y'all have a great Monday! God love ya' and y'all have a safe day!

April 23, 2012 - Msg 88327: Good morning, porch! Boo, so glad you're home safely, and I know you had fun. Too bad you had to "portage" part of the way with the tubes, but that's the way the Frio is, much of the time. Still, I love that river. You fell UP a dam? Hahaha! I'd love to have seen the tip-over, too. A friend of mine who went with us one year did the same, in less than three feet of water, and the way she was wedged into her tube, she couldn't right herself. All we saw were legs waving in the air, and bubbles rising from below the tube. Two of us grabbed her legs and levered her upright. She crawled out of that tube and declared she was never getting in it again!! But she did.

What a beautiful day! The air is so still, just the occasional shiver of a single leaf or twig can be seen. When it's that selective, it can't be a breeze, it must be an insect landing or something. I need to get out there and get some work done. The irises are almost finished and need to have the dead stalks cut away, roses need dead-heading, and I have some sundrops to plant before they die in their little containers. My back is feeling good today, which is great, but I'm afraid if I get out there and start working I'll stir things up again. Decisions, decisions.

Well, Toye Starr has a date with Dr. Mike this morning, so guess I'd better get her fed and pottied, and myself dressed. Sure is nice just sitting here at this window, though. I hate to move! It is a beautiful day here in south texas. Perfect weather. Wish it could stay this way but it won't.

Hang in there Asa, soon you will have it all in order. :)

Yes Ro, I wish you could have see me fall up the dam. I was kind of on the side of it and there was no way I was going over that waterfall on the tube so I swam to the side and tried to get out by walking up the concrete slab that slanted up to the top of the dam....whoosh, down I went but was able to catch myself with my hands. It felt like I sprained my wrists but you gotta expect pain on the river. ;) I think I will get in better shape before I try tubing again, although I did better than I thought i would so maybe I am not so bad off.

Fighting a cold today...caught it from Sean, darn it. Its not too bad, though. I have got LOTS of laundry to get through in the next couple of day and have to do it, sick or not.

Well, it looks like we have a new dog in the family. The pup Sean rescued off the road is going to stay, I guess. I had second (and third) thoughts about it but the kids are so head over heels that I guess we will keep him. Sean named him Oliver for some reason? I, however will call him Ollie (as in cousin Ollie). He is no longer timid in the least (some affection from the kids cured that in a hurry). He is a very happy, playful pup now with a good appetite. My dog Madea is being respectful of him but she isn't crazy about him being here...just wait until he starts chewing on her legs and ears. Now, if I could just get rid of some goats!

Better git. I have laundry to do and have to take the pup to the vet at 3:30 for shots. See ya later.

I knew that by the time I found a suitable home, my children would have fallen too far in love with the pup so here he will stay. So far he has been a very nice, easygoing type of pup. His favorite thing is to be held and when we took him to the vet today for his first shot he was very calm and well behaved. My kids were never as smitten with our other dogs. This one just seems like a good fit and I certainly hope he continues to be. The vet said he is about 8 weeks old and looks like he will grow into a 40 or 50 lb dog. He behaved himself last night and just went into his kennel and slept quietly on his blanket.

I had a little victory with Bernie today, G-F. When I went out to put him up into the coop, he dropped his wing and I thought he might go after me but he didn't and I actually ended up having to pick him up to get him back in and he didn't didn't give me any trouble. John Masters, yep, No Al Davis for the draft. Don't matter though cause we traded all our drafts for Palmer. The jury is still out on that one.

Auh20, I'm the one usually going on about snow in April. We hit 88 yesterday. Shattered the record high again. In fact our overnight low was 67. That's our normal daytime high for this time of year. Crazy weather I tell ya.

Goober Fife, I'm glad someone can relate to the temps jumping around and the havoc it gives us maint. fellers.

MDC, I don't follow the NBA much but the Jazz and the Suns have a big game tonight I hear.

Better get going. Still got a lotta evap coolers to prep.

Asa

April 24, 2012 - Msg 88350: Good morning, Porch family!

I know what y'all mean by these battles with temperatures! Yesterday, it was barely in the 60's and today....89*!

REV., SPOT, MDC - Same old Royals! Our team has went from a once glorious franchise to an absolute joke! There was a scroll on the MLB Network the other day that said the Royals were only the FOURTH team in MLB history to lose their first nine home games! Something to be proud of! Setting MLB records....in the wrong direction! Yeesh!

auh2o - I sympathize with you, my friend! Eight inches of snow in mid to late April stinks!

Have a great and safe day, everyone! Good thoughts to everyone and Greetings to Lucy,Mary,Maude,Boo,Ro,TOM,KYGirl,GF,Asa and the whole gang!

April 24, 2012 - Msg 88352: Asa, I can't think of anything that you can loosen, but thanks anyway. Why don't you make me a batch of chicken soup? TOM already gave me some Vicks.

Things are rough around here today. St. Susan's son has split with his wife and it is a terrible situation. Please remember them in your prayers. He is driving to Austin to pick up his litte girl (Emily) and bring her back home as we speak. Once he has her home with him, he will feel much better. All he can think about right now is getting his arms around his little girl again.

I think if I could just cut off my head and put it in a drawer until the cold is gone, I would be right fine.

Boo

Now TOM, it was worth getting sick! haha...I would have picked it up anyway from Sean. He had it the day we left home. Thanks for the Vicks!

JM...maybe your Royals can get things turned around.

Spot...our Braves couldn't get it going last night. Hopefully better tonight.
OK....are you a Jr fan? I'm not much of a fan for Jr or Kyle to tell you the truth. I usually pull for whoever is in front of those two...lol But Jr is hanging in there this year.

Tom....man that's nice of you sharing your vicks with Boo but hope you have a spare:)

Thanks for breakfast Possum....good stuff:)

Well I better get moving for now. Think I'll go and wait for my BBQ plate to arrive. Thanks Spot:)

Who are the Royals??? haha

April 24, 2012 - Msg 88357: Good Afternoon Porch!
I'm rarely on here during the day. I've been such a late night rocker for the past few months. I hope everyone is having a swell day! Thank you all for your prayers. Sometimes life gets a little overwhelming. This week seems better so far. The girl that has been sleeping on our couch for 2 weeks is having lunch with her mom so hopefully the girl will be going back home. She's sweet, but we already have 5 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment and that is enough.

Briscoe Darling, thanks for stopping by for a visit! Are Dud, Miss Charlene, the boys, and Andelina doing well?
G-F, like I said before, you need to take pictures of your TAGS memorabilia so we can see your goodies!
Possum, I hope you're doing well! Thanks for the breakfast!
Tom, yes, the weather is wild. It's chilly down in Atlanta, which is weird for this time of year and the fact we had 90 a few weeks ago!
Rev, I had forgotten you're a Braves fan. Can you believe that Chipper is leaving after this year? He says he's retiring, but I wonder if he's just saying that and going somewhere else.
Spot, I hope Miss Sherry is having a good week!
Romeena, it's so wonderful that Toye Starr brings you such happiness!
Boo, I hope you get better. Our allergies are a mess here. Our family has suffered the worst ever!
Asa, what's an evap cooler?
John Masters, are you a member of the choir like your namesake?
MDC, my stepchildrens grandmother told them about the high temperatures out there. Have you fried an egg yet? :)
Auh20, I had wondered if you got snow. I thought of you the other day. My youngest son is learning the capitals and he was shocked that the state of NY is so big because like most people he thinks NY C is all there is! I set him straight.
KyGirl, I know you've had a lot going on and I'm sorry! Hopefully things will look up soon. :)
Poor Horatio, I had wondered if the Canadians had gotten the Nor'easter. Hm, that's interesting that you didn't.

Does anyone know why Mavis and Me-They stopped coming by?

I'm making dinner tonight. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, relish tray, Jell-O salad, biscuits, and buttermilk pie for dessert. I know some of y'all like Kool-Aid, but I just can't allow it, so sweet tea it will be. ;)

Have a nice evening!
Blessings to you and yours,
Lucy

Hey Folks

Ya know guys (and gals, I call everyone guys for some reason) it is so nice knowing that all of you and this Porch are right here. Thanks again Floyd.

We wound up with a little over a foot of heavy snow, with a lot of trees are on their side.

MDC-Congrats to the Coyotes, that's big doings.

PH-We get the Toronto forecast here from the Buffalo Channel's.

GF-You were right on the mark again with the frozen h2o warning.

Lucy-When we travel most people think we're from NYC, especially after Sept 11th. I guess NYC is our "Mount Pilot." But, I'd rather live in Mayberry.

auh2o...you are so right...it's so nice to know we have our porch family here. Man there is no way people can understand this place without really spending time here!

Lucy....I really don't think Chipper will go anywhere else. This is the only place he has ever played and I think he wants to retire a Brave.

I'm hanging out tomorrow in the recording studio with some session picker friends so I won't be rocking....well I may be rocking (rocking and rolling) but it won't be on the porch...lol

Boo, I'm sorry your still ailing. No fun being sick with a cold anytime, but this time of the year really stinks. I hope you get feeling better soon.

Lucy, sure nice to see you posting more. I hope your "guest" is able to find other accomodations and lessen your burden. You asked what an evap cooler is. Evaporative cooler, sometimes called a swamp cooler is used a lot in dry climates. It basically takes water that saturates some type of media material (usually aspen shavings) and a fan draws air through that and into the living quarters. They are much cheaper to operate than a regular A/C, although not as effective. They do pretty good as long as the humidity is low, but are almost useless when the humidity gets higher. We use them a lot in our shop areas where it would cost a lot of money to cool with a regular A/C unit. So now you know everything there is to know about evap. cooling. lol

Have fun picking and singing Rev. Don't strain you uvula or nothing like that.

Auh2o, I imagine that snow will melt off fast. One of the bad things about them late or early heavy snows is they can really damage the leaved out tree's.

I better get going. Lots to do.

Asa

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88364: Good morning, Porch family!

Temps around 94* today and then the weather forecasters are saying the weekend here will be in the FIFTIES! I really wish Mother Nature would make up her mind!

REV. - Yeah, maybe they can turn it around by gutting Kauffman Stadium from top to bottom! Starting with David Glass! he's never cared about the Royals and has probably been using them for a tax write-off. When he took over, this city was NOT happy!

Boo - Hope you get to feeling up to snuff! I despise being sick like that. My sympathies!

MDC - I wonder that myself!

GF - Well, when you're the worst team in baseball, I guess the Indians are better! Actually, if the Royals beat them, then the statement becomes "It's pretty bad when the Indians get swept by the Royals!"

Lucy - Yikes, that apartment sounds a might cramped! No, I don't sing. But that reminds me, I do need to order more music from New York! I'll try to stop by for dinner. It sounds like a real humdinger!

Y'all have a great and safe day! Smile when you can. It's therapetic!

G-F, yesterday I drank alot of hot tea with honey and lemon, wore my comfy clothes all day, read a good book, and carried around a big box of Kleenix, for sure. :) Today I feel worse, though...achy and alot of pressure in my head. I just got up for some breakfast and Advil and to have my coffee then I'm going back to bed. HONK.

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88367: Good morning, porch! I'm watching TAGS on TVLand this morning, and I just learned something while in Mayberry. I learned that, according to Barney, two and two makes four. I also learned that if he says it one more time, in that smug, smarmy way, I'm going to want to smack him off that soda fountain stool he's perched on.

Boo, I'm sorry you're on the puny list. There are few things that make you more miserable than a summer cold. If it doesn't improve soon, you might need to go see the doc. You could have a serious sinus infection.

Well, gotta run. I see the back doc today. He's had time to evaluate the myelogram and CT I had done, so maybe he'll have some answers. Blessings, y'all! --Romeena

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88368: Thanks, Ro. I am supposed to go have my blood drawn at the doc's tomorrow so maybe I will squeeze in a little appointmet. This doctor is great at giving out meds for things like this...I could probably squeeze a prescrition for that narcotic cough medicine out of him if I try. ;) I think I am starting to feel a bit better...or maybe its the advil. Someone explain to me why one minute the left side of my nose and sinus cavities feel blocked up with cement and then later, it's the right side? Curious. At least my feet aren't falling asleep.

Ro, I know what you mean about Barney and his smug, smarmy way! Makes me wanna put him in his place. I think Andy babied Barney far too much. If you want a man to act like a man, treat him like one I always say (well, actually I have never said that but I think its true). ;)

Hope you get some answers from the CT, Ro. Let us know what you find out. I am curious about it.

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88373: Hi, porch. Just got back from the appointment with the neck/back doctor. Looks like surgery in the near future. As I expected, he said I have moderate cervical radiculopathy, rapidly progressing toward severe. There are bone spurs involved. Surgery will realign the mis-aligned cervical vertebrae, and the bone spurs will be removed. Two vertebrae will be fused, as the disc is ruined with arthritis. Doc says it could wait, maybe as long as three years, but by then I will be bent, with my ear near my shoulder, and the surgery will be much more difficult, with a much longer recovery time. Doing it now will be relatively easy, and recovery, while not a cakewalk, will be a lot easier than it would be later. So, nothing to gain by waiting, and a lot to lose. I opted to get 'er done! No date set yet, but probably within the next two months. I have some things that have to be settled first, both at work and at home.

Now, since I have to work tonight, I'm heading for the ironing board, to get a little sleep before staying up all night. It really makes a difference! Blessings, everyone. --Romeena

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88374: Gosh, I'm sorry you are going to have to have surgery, Ro. I was hoping for another way out. Well, the Lord is in control. Hope you have an easy night at work.

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88375: Hey everyone, it's Frankie, just in case I forget to sign my name at the bottom of this message. Prayers for everyone here that's not feeling well. Boo sounds like you have a sinus infection hope you get some drugs from the Doc. I have sinus problems and my Doc suggested a saline rinse and it works wonders. Romeena sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery but you are making the right decision about having it done now rather than waiting. I'm having some dental work done on Monday, two back teeth ground down and a permanent bridge. It's my daughters birthday Monday and the family is coming for dinner, don't imagine I'll be eating much.
Frankie....I remembered!

April 25, 2012 - Msg 88376: Frankie, I think it is too soon for a sinus infection but it could certainly turn into one. Hope your dental work goes off without a hitch.

April 26, 2012 - Msg 88379: Good morning, All

Sorry to hear your aches and pains, Boo and Ro!

Boo - I know what you mean about the "side to side" problems. Take that from a long time allergy sufferer who used to have allergy shots every Wednesday when I was a kid. Now, not so much allergies, but when they hit, it's like Ollie's stove....BOOM! Make sure Emmitt puts the light in BEFORE you go to sleep and dont put Goober in charge of the courthouse! You know he'll over step his boundaries again!

Ro - Sorry to hear you'll have to have surgery. God knows I have seen my dad put up with a bad back. So much so that sometimes he was walking in the shape of the letter S. My prayers and good thoughts for a more than successful surgery and recovery!

Asa - Here we go! Just hours away from "With the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft....." Looking forward to seeing what the Cheifs do. There is talk of several choices. Tanneyhill, Poe, DeCastro are some of the names being tossed around.

Frankie - Ewww! I hate dental work! There has been one time in my life that I actually beat a path to the dentist's door and that's when I had a badly swollen wisdom tooth! Good luck on your appointment! Happiest of birthday to your daughter!

MDC - How 'bout them Capitals knocking off the champion Bruins last night?! I was pullin' for the Caps! Those Bruins are bullies and a little too smug for my taste. Glad to see Chara gone!

Good mornings all around to REV.,Maude,Possum,auh2o,Lucy,Mary,TOM,GF,
Horatio, and the whole group! Y'all have a safe and happy Thursday!
