To my knowledge, you're right. I never heard Charlene mentioned while LeAnn was in the show. I'm quite sure LeAnn was never mentioned while Charlene was in the show because the character of LeAnn had not been created yet.
Charlene was Ben's daughter in the first season. In the second season, Ben mentions that she moved to Philadelphia. LeAnn is Ben's "long lost" daughter who appears in the sixth season and becomes a regular in the seventh. She and Ben were estranged because she eloped with a man Ben didn't approve of. They reconciled when her husband left her for another woman.
