People have been asking about the Matlock courthouses that have been seen in the series. At the very beginning of the intro the building is the State capitol in Atlanta GA that funnily shrinks inside the letter M…in the end of the intro Ben Matlock goes the steps downwards in front of the Second Church of Christ Scientist that is located at 948 West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles CA. It’s the place that everybody knows as The Fulton County Courthouse.
The last seasons were shot in North Carolina and the courthouse is changed to the Alton Lennon Federal Building/ Courthouse in Wilmington NC. The red brick courthouse that is shown in the episode The Deadly Dose (season 9, episode 11) is the New Hanover County Courthouse in Wilmington.
