Thicknin' Gravy ( Milk Gravey )

Posted by: Uncle Ollie on 04/23/97 13:56:03 CDT

Salt Pork about 5 or 6 slices thin (bacon or sausage will do)Two table spoons plain flour. Two cups sweet milk. In a deep skillet cook up your meat good and crisp and set aside (salt pork is good on biscuits). Put in your flour and stir so it is even and not lumpy but don't let it get to brown. Pour in the milk and bring to a boil while stirring. Boil for a couple of minutes and pour into a bowl and serve over biscuits or you can sop it with biscuits. Remember the flour is what makes it thick so you can adjust it to your taste. A variation for supper is instead of milk use a 15 oz can of tomatoes mashed up real good.
